Role summary
Doctronic is building an AI-native virtual medical practice. The Medical Director will partner closely with the CMO to turn clinical strategy into production systems, integrating our clinical-grade AI, practice-wide pathways and guidelines, continuous improvement of our care delivery model, and an innovative quality and safety program.
This is a builder role for a physician leader who wants to design care models, ship operational change, work directly with product teams to launch new clinical offerings, and redefine how medical care is delivered in the era of clinical-grade AI.
Reporting and key relationships
Reports to the Chief Medical Officer
Works closely with Clinical Product, Clinical Operations, Quality and Compliance, Data and Analytics, and Engineering
Partners with supervising and practicing clinicians across the practice
Core responsibilities
Practice guidelines and pathways
Own the lifecycle of clinical pathways and practice guidelines from drafting through rollout and iteration
Create concise, AI-native, usable protocols that drive consistent, high-quality virtual care
Define escalation criteria, exclusion criteria, referral pathways, and safety thresholds for virtual-first care
Ensure guidelines are communicated and implemented through training, documentation standards, and workflow integration
Ensure guidelines are deployed through an AI-friendly interface
Improve Doctronic’s AI-native care delivery model
Continuously refine how care is delivered across intake, triage, assessment, treatment planning, follow-up, and escalation
Identify operational bottlenecks and redesign workflows to improve quality, speed, and patient experience
Standardize high-performing clinical practices and reduce unwarranted variation
Assist with QA and performance review of Doctronic Physician Group providers
Build new care offerings with Clinical Product
Assist the product team with clinical design for new programs and condition pathways
Define eligibility, care cadence, clinical requirements, safety guardrails, and success metrics
Partner with Product and Engineering to translate clinical logic into usable product and workflow experiences
Drive clinical readiness for launches and ensure safe, coherent execution at go-live
Quality and safety workstreams
Lead practice quality and patient safety initiatives across the care model
Maintain a functioning safety event pipeline and review process with timely corrective actions
Run continuous learning loops through structured case review and quality audits
Define quality metrics, monitoring dashboards, and improvement targets with Analytics
Care Delivery
Maintain a practice within the Doctronic AI-Native Care platform
Additional responsibilities

Required qualifications
MD or DO with active or eligible U.S. licensure
Board certification in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Emergency Medicine strongly preferred
Minimum 5 years of post-residency care delivery
Experience supervising virtual care at scale
Demonstrated ability to design clinical protocols and implement them operationally
Experience leading quality improvement, patient safety, or clinical operations work
The ability or willingness to maximize productivity using AI tools
Preferred qualifications
Experience partnering with product and engineering teams to ship clinical workflows and programs
Experience operating in high-growth clinical environments such as telehealth, value-based care, or scaling practices
Familiarity with clinical AI governance, monitoring, and safety evaluation

About the Role
We're looking for an Information Security Engineer to own our security posture. We're HIPAA-compliant and SOC 2 Type II certified—you'll maintain and strengthen that foundation as we scale to serve millions of patients and enterprise partners.
This role is critical to our mission. When you're protecting healthcare data, security isn't just best practice—it's a sacred responsibility. You'll combine hands-on technical work with strategic security leadership, ensuring Doctronic remains the most trusted AI diagnostic platform in healthcare.
What You'll Do
Maintain SOC 2 Type II compliance and manage ongoing audits with external assessors
Implement and monitor HIPAA technical safeguards across our infrastructure and applications
Conduct and coordinate regular penetration testing, vulnerability assessments, and security reviews
Complete vendor security reviews and respond to enterprise security questionnaires from health systems and payers
Implement and enforce security policies across engineering, operations, and business teams
Respond to security incidents with urgency and thoroughness, conducting post-incident analysis
Build security automation and monitoring to scale protection as the company grows
Collaborate with engineering teams to embed security best practices into the development lifecycle
Stay current on emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and regulatory requirements in healthcare technology
Who You Are
7+ years of information security experience in production environments
Healthcare or fintech background required—you understand regulated industry security requirements
Hands-on technical ability, not just policy and paperwork—you can read code, configure systems, and investigate incidents
Deep experience with SOC 2, HIPAA, or equivalent compliance frameworks
Familiarity with AWS security controls, IAM, encryption, and cloud security best practices
Strong communicator who can translate security requirements for technical and non-technical audiences
Proactive problem-solver who anticipates risks before they materialize
Collaborative partner who enables teams to move fast while staying secure
Nice to Have
CISSP, CISM, CISA, or equivalent security certification
Experience with health information exchanges, TEFCA, QHIN, or interoperability standards
Startup security experience—building security programs from scratch vs. maintaining established ones
Familiarity with AI/ML security considerations and model protection
Experience with mobile app security (iOS/Android)
Knowledge of medical device security standards or FDA digital health guidance
Background in application security, secure SDLC, or DevSecOps

We seek a physician-product leader to drive the development of clinical pathways and workflows that power AI-native care delivery. This role sits at the intersection of clinical medicine, product management, and partner success—requiring deep medical expertise, proven product leadership, and the ability to translate complex clinical needs into scalable AI-enabled solutions for both our internal clinic and growing network of clinical partners.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Product Development (50%)
Own the product roadmap for clinical pathways, defining and prioritizing features that enable safe, effective AI-native care delivery
Design and iterate on clinical workflows for urgent care, primary care, chronic disease management, and medication management use cases
Translate clinical requirements into detailed product specifications for our AI engineering and context engineering teams
Drive product decisions grounded in clinical evidence, regulatory requirements, and real-world physician workflows
Partner Integration & Customization (35%)
Serve as the primary liaison for new clinical partners, leading discovery to understand their unique workflow requirements and use cases

Required Qualifications
Medical Background
MD, DO, or equivalent medical degree (minimum requirement)
Completed residency strongly preferred; post-residency clinical practice experience ideal
Deep understanding of clinical decision-making, care delivery workflows, and physician needs
Experience in urgent care, primary care, emergency medicine, or internal medicine preferred
Product Management Experience
3+ years of product management experience, ideally in healthcare technology or digital health
Demonstrated ability to own product roadmaps from strategy through execution
Experience writing product requirements, user stories, and detailed specifications
Track record of shipping products that required cross-functional coordination
Technical Aptitude
Strong understanding of AI/ML systems and their application in healthcare settings
Experience deploying or implementing AI-enabled products in production environments preferred
Familiarity with EHR systems, clinical data standards (HL7, FHIR), and healthcare interoperability
Comfort with technical discussions and ability to collaborate effectively with engineering teams
Leadership & Communication
Exceptional stakeholder management skills with ability to navigate complex partner relationships
Strong written and verbal communication skills for both clinical and technical audiences
Experience working with or managing multidisciplinary teams
