fal is the generative media ecosystem powering the next generation of AI products. We build the infrastructure, tools, and model access that teams need to move from idea to production, and do it at scale without compromise. For developers and enterprises, fal is the foundation that makes generative media not just possible, but practical: a unified platform where high-performance inference, orchestration, and observability come together to unlock new categories of AI-native products.
As generative media reshapes industries across a market projected to grow by hundreds of billions over the next decade, fal is becoming the ecosystem that ambitious teams build on.
You will own the operational and commercial performance of the hyperscalers, neoclouds, and GPU infrastructure providers that power fal’s compute fleet. You will translate contract commitments into measurable operating standards, resolve performance issues, recover credits and remedies, and ensure our capacity is ready when customers need it.
This is a hands-on role for someone who understands both infrastructure operations and commercial vendor management. You will build the systems, reporting, and operating cadence for a vendor portfolio that is growing quickly in scale and complexity.
What you’ll own
Own post-signature relationships with GPU infrastructure providers, including hyperscalers, neoclouds, colocation partners, and other strategic compute vendors.
Translate contractual commitments into measurable SLAs, scorecards, escalation procedures, and internal operating requirements.
Track availability, provisioning timelines, capacity delivery, support responsiveness, and other vendor-performance measures.
Lead escalations when vendors miss commitments, coordinating with Infrastructure, Capacity Planning, Finance, Legal, and executive stakeholders.
Pursue service credits, remedies, and corrective-action plans, and ensure issues remain open until they are fully resolved.
Run vendor governance, including regular operating reviews, executive business reviews, performance reporting, renewal readiness, and contract-compliance tracking.
Partner with Capacity Planning and Strategic Sourcing to align committed capacity with demand forecasts and identify supply risks early.
Reconcile invoices against contracted pricing, delivered capacity, usage, credits, and other commercial terms.
Maintain accurate records of commitments, renewals, open claims, invoices, and vendor obligations.
Build the vendor-management processes, dashboards, and operating cadence fal needs as its infrastructure footprint scales.
What you bring
5+ years in infrastructure vendor management, cloud partnerships, strategic sourcing, procurement operations, or a related function.
Direct experience managing commercial relationships with hyperscalers, neoclouds, GPU providers, data-center operators, or other large-scale infrastructure vendors.
Experience operationalizing complex infrastructure agreements involving committed capacity, SLAs, service credits, provisioning requirements, renewals, and commercial remedies.
A track record of resolving vendor-performance issues and holding strategic partners accountable without damaging long-term relationships.
Strong analytical and operational skills, including performance reporting, invoice reconciliation, credit calculations, and contract-compliance tracking.
Enough technical fluency to work effectively with infrastructure engineering and capacity-planning teams and understand the operational impact of vendor failures.
Experience running QBRs, vendor scorecards, executive escalations, and corrective-action plans.
Comfort building processes and systems from scratch in a fast-moving environment.
Clear, direct communication and excellent attention to detail.
Bonus points
Experience managing GPU capacity across multiple providers.
Experience allocating constrained capacity during shortages or periods of rapid demand growth.
Familiarity with GPU availability, provisioning, utilization, networking, and cloud infrastructure economics.
Experience recovering material service credits or negotiating remedies following major performance failures.
Experience establishing a vendor-management function at a hyperscaler, neocloud, AI infrastructure company, or high-growth technology company.
What success looks like
Within your first six months:
Every strategic infrastructure vendor has clear ownership, performance measures, and a regular review cadence.
Contractual commitments, renewals, credits, and open escalations are tracked in one reliable system.
Invoice and capacity discrepancies are identified and resolved consistently.
Vendor risks are surfaced before they affect customers or constrain growth.
fal has a repeatable process for holding infrastructure partners accountable.

About the Role
Cash flow is the fuel behind every hire we make and every GPU we spin up — and right now, that process runs on scrappy startup instincts more than scalable systems. We're hiring an AR Specialist to change that: someone who can take full ownership of collections, chase down what's owed without losing the relationship, and build the reporting and processes that let Finance actually see around corners. You'll sit at the intersection of Finance, Sales, Operations, and Customer Success, which means your work is never just about invoices — it's about making sure the whole revenue engine runs cleanly as we scale. If you get real satisfaction from replacing chaos with a system that just works, this role was built for you.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
OWN ACCOUNTS RECEIVABLE, START TO FINISH
- Run the full Account Receivable lifecycle — invoicing, payment tracking, account reconciliation
- Watch aging reports like a hawk and chase down outstanding invoices before they become a problem
- Keep customer account records clean and resolve billing discrepancies fast
- Support month-end close for everything AR and cash application related
DRIVE COLLECTIONS AND CASH FLOW
- Design and execute collection strategies that shrink DSO and speed up cash collections
- Build real relationships with customer AP teams — the kind that get payment delays resolved with a phone call, not an escalation
- Know when to escalate high-risk or delinquent accounts, and do it without burning the relationship
- Spot payment risk early by reading the trends before they become write-offs
BUILD THE SYSTEMS, NOT JUST RUN THEM
- Use collections tools to automate outreach and track performance — this isn't a spreadsheets-forever role
- Partner with Finance leadership to level up AR processes, reporting, and controls
- Work with Sales to make sure billing is accurate from the first invoice
- Help build the scalable AR playbook a high-growth startup actually needs
REPORT ON WHAT MATTERS
- Put together weekly AR aging and collections reports for leadership
- Track DSO, collection effectiveness, and overdue balances like they're your own scorecard
- Support audits and keep documentation clean for compliance
WHAT YOU'LL BRING
MUST-HAVES
- 3+ years in Accounts Receivable, Billing, or Collections
- Comfortable in a SaaS, tech, or startup environment
- Solid grasp of AR processes, collections strategy, and cash application
- Experience with an ERP/accounting system
- Strong communicator and negotiator — genuinely fine picking up the phone and calling a customer
- Organized, detail-obsessed, and good at juggling deadlines when things move fast
NICE-TO-HAVES
- Hands-on experience with Tesorio or similar AR automation/collections platforms
- Experience supporting enterprise or B2B customers
- Familiarity with SaaS billing models, contracts, and revenue operations
- Comfortable using AI tools to speed up analysis and reporting
- Track record working cross-functionally with Sales and Operations
WHY JOIN US?
- Help build the financial foundation of a high-growth AI startup from the ground up
- Join a collaborative, mission-driven team that moves fast and actually ships
- Real ownership over core financial operations — not just a seat, a stake
- Competitive pay, equity, and a comprehensive benefits package

fal is the generative media ecosystem powering the next generation of AI products.
Role Overview
We're hiring a Technical Accounting Lead to own fal's technical accounting agenda and support month end close, composed of both operational and technical entries.
That means two things in practice. First, accounting for the single largest and most complex area of our cost base: compute. GPU capacity is the core of our business, and how we capitalize, depreciate, lease, and expense the infrastructure that powers the platform that drives our unit economics and our results. Second, the technical agenda — revenue contracts, capitalized software, equity and stock-based compensation, consolidation and business combinations, expense classification, and the policies and operational application that support each.
This is a hands-on, high-ownership role, with runway to lean on external technical accounting advisors as needed. You'll partner closely with Infrastructure, Procurement, Legal, Strategic Finance, and our external advisors, and use the latest AI tools to work productively.
What You'll Do
Overall
Execute our technical accounting agenda by working cross functionally and vertically throughout the organization to establish a rigorous technical accounting discipline
Work closely with business partners to articulate business requirements to operationalize technical conclusions
Assess the adequacy of current business systems and identify opportunities to leverage AI in your day to day work
Set a foundation of best practice internal controls considerations as you complete your technical tasks
Compute Cost Accounting
Own the monthly close for all compute-related accounts: vendor spend, prepaid and capacity commitments, accrued liabilities, fixed assets, and leases — including journal entries, reconciliations, and clearing reconciling items
Validate vendor invoices against contracted rates, committed capacity, and actual usage; drive billing errors and overages to resolution
Analyze compute and cloud agreements — commitments, minimums, tiered pricing, credits, prepayments — and apply the correct US GAAP treatment
Research and document technical positions: lease vs. service contract, embedded leases, capitalization thresholds, impairment, and cost classification (COGS vs. opex vs. capex); write memos that stand up to auditor review
Evaluate accounting implications of new vendor agreements pre-signature, partnering with Legal and Infrastructure
Partner with Strategic Finance to tie compute spend to capacity, utilization, and unit economics
Design and stand up scalable processes and controls for a rapidly growing and evolving cost base
Revenue (ASC 606) and Contract Costs (ASC 340-40)
Research and advise on revenue accounting for customer contracts
Work cross-functionally with Sales, Legal, and Deal Desk on non-standard arrangements to determine appropriate application of GAAP accounting
Determine the appropriate GAAP application for our commission and incentive compensation plans
Leases (ASC 842) & Fixed Assets
Own lease accounting across real estate, colocation space, GPU rental agreements, and equipment
Abstract new and modified contracts, assess classification (finance vs. operating), and identify embedded leases within compute and hosting arrangements
Accurately calculate lease liability, ROU asset, and expense amounts and prepare lease disclosures
Capitalized Software (ASC 350)
Own internal-use software capitalization (ASC 350-40, including ASU 2025-06) — partnering with Engineering to assess which development activities qualify
Recommend and document capitalization and useful-life policies
Partner with Infrastructure on capex tracking, asset tagging, and periodic physical verification, and reconcile the fixed asset subledger to the GL
Equity & Stock-Based Compensation (ASC 718)
Support ASC 718 expense: award data reconciled to board minutes, 409A interpolation, award modifications, and secondary sales and tender offers, among other matters
Prepare and validate SBC calculations and disclosure reports
Consolidation, Business Combinations & Other Areas
Own consolidation across our US entity, foreign subsidiaries, acquired entities — including intercompany and FX
Own P&L expense classification, related-party analysis, going concern, and other technical positions as they arise
Research and document the company's positions under US GAAP, and draft and maintain the supporting policy memos
Qualifications
Required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA required
8+ years of progressive accounting experience, with a mix of Big 4 public accounting and in-house industry experience (tech, SaaS, cloud infrastructure, or AI strongly preferred)
Range of technical knowledge of US GAAP across ASC 842, ASC 718, ASC 350-40, ASC 805, ASC 810, ASC 606
Experience supporting or leading an external audit
Strong written communication skills — you can translate complex accounting into clear, concise takeaways with non-technical audiences
High agency — you set your own priorities, make decisions independently, and drive work to completion
Preferred
Experience at a high-growth software, cloud infrastructure, AI, or other capital-intensive technology company
Experience accounting for technology infrastructure assets such as servers, GPUs, or networking equipment
AI and automation first. You use the latest AI tools — or build your own — to automate reconciliations, analyze large usage/spend datasets, and streamline your work
Compensation & Benefits
Competitive base salary
Meaningful equity in a rapidly growing AI company
Comprehensive benefits package (health, dental, and vision)
High autonomy and real ownership over core financial operations
