Software Engineer, Infrastructure Modelling
About Fluidstack
We exist to make humanity more free. For most of human history, you farmed or you starved. Technology gave people more time for the things they wanted to do, instead of things they had to do. Powerful AI will be the biggest lever for human choice we've ever built - but only if models are aligned with what humanity actually wants. There are groups building AI who don't share these goals. Whoever deploys frontier compute infrastructure fastest will decide whether AI expands human freedom or shrinks it.
We're singularly focused on delivering 10 to 100s of GWs of compute faster than anyone else, rethinking every layer of the stack. We acquire power, design and build data centers, and operate them - with teams spanning hardware and software. Speed and scale are our key differentiators. Come be a part of building civilization-scale infrastructure for AI.
We hire people who care deeply about this problem space. If that is you, please apply!
How We Operate
Extreme ownership. Full autonomy. Own things end to end often taking on scope outside your core role without being asked to get things done.
Velocity. We drive everything forward as fast as possible.
First principles. Challenge every assumption. Zero analogy thinking, no egos, the best idea wins.
Love of the game. The frontier of AI is the most interesting problem of our time. We put in long hours at high intensity to push the frontier forward.
Role Scope
Build the software behind the infrastructure model: services, APIs, and pipelines making the design data programmable.
Ship generative tooling: layouts, routings, and configurations produced from rules and the model, not manual drafting.
Integrate the design stack: CAD and BIM platforms, PLM, and the company's data layer speaking one language.
Own the model data at scale: versioning, validation, and queryability across gigawatts of design.
What We're Looking For
The below is a starting point. We always make space for exceptional people, so if you don't fit this role exactly, tell us where you would.
You've built software against CAD or BIM platforms or engineering data.
You've shipped automation that replaced manual design work.
You handle geometric and graph-shaped data competently.
You write production code and integrate messy vendor APIs.
You work embedded with engineers as your users.
Bonus: Revit, Tekla, or Forge APIs. IFC toolchains. Computational geometry. Rust, C#, TypeScript, or Python.
We are committed to pay equity and transparency.

Role Scope
Produce the detailed models and drawings the factory builds from: structures, skids, and assemblies fully detailed.
Detail steel and MEP to fabrication level: connections, penetrations, and BOM-linked parts.
Turn revisions fast: engineering changes into updated packages in days.
Keep the model clean: standards, libraries, and templates that make the next unit faster.
What We're Looking For
The below is a starting point. We always make space for exceptional people, so if you don't fit this role exactly, tell us where you would.
You've detailed for fabrication: structural steel, skids, or modular assemblies.
Shops build from your drawings without calling.
You model to standards and maintain library discipline.
You handle revision storms without version chaos.
You know how things get made: welds, bends, and the clearances real fabricators need.
Bonus: Tekla or Advance Steel. Revit or plant 3D. Weld symbols and AISC detailing. BIM coordination.
We are committed to pay equity and transparency.

Build the facilities data pipeline: ingestion, transformation, and serving of telemetry from every site.
Ship the connectors that speak the field's languages, BACnet, Modbus, OPC UA, and vendor APIs, reliably.
Own data quality in code: validation, gap detection, and backfill tooling.
Serve the consumers: clean APIs and datasets for dashboards, controls, and ML.
What We're Looking For
The below is a starting point. We always make space for exceptional people, so if you don't fit this role exactly, tell us where you would.
You've shipped production data pipelines and owned them on call.
You've integrated with industrial protocols or ugly vendor APIs and made them reliable.
You test data code properly: correctness, latency, and gaps.
You debug across the stack, from a flatlined sensor to a slow query.
You work fast with modern tooling and AI-assisted development.
Bonus: Time-series systems. Go, Python, or TypeScript. Industrial and IoT data. Grafana ecosystems.

Engineer fire protection in the reference design: detection, suppression, and alarm systems for modular units and BTM plants.
Run the calcs and layouts: hydraulics, coverage, and device placement owned end to end.
Develop the details that repeat: standardized designs fabricated into modules instead of field-built.
Support permitting and commissioning: AHJ questions answered, acceptance tests passed.
What We're Looking For
The below is a starting point. We always make space for exceptional people, so if you don't fit this role exactly, tell us where you would.
You've designed fire protection systems for industrial or mission-critical facilities.
You run your own hydraulic calcs and stand behind them.
You've taken designs through plan review and acceptance testing.
You know NFPA 13 and 72 well and look up the rest fast.
You design for fabrication, not just for the code minimum.
Bonus: Clean agent and water mist systems. BESS protection (NFPA 855). AutoSPRINK or HydraCAD. NICET or PE track.

The Supply Chain Team
Examples of key problems the team is working on
Supply tens of gigawatts of compute, the largest build out of compute in history. Qualify and dual-source across every critical equipment category, with lead-time and capacity thresholds tied directly to the forward build pipeline.
Make supply chain the reason we build faster than anyone. Our modular build redefines speed in this industry, and it lives or dies on supply chain. Keep procurement permanently off the critical path so schedule compression stays our advantage, not our constraint.
Build the most accurate supply chain prediction modelling that exists. Use the frontier of AI to forecast lead times, demand, and disruption with a precision the industry has never had, and turn that foresight into a structural edge.
Role Scope
Own global sourcing for manufacturing facilities: the equipment, fit-out, and services that stand up and run our factories.
Negotiate supplier agreements across capital equipment, MRO, and facility services with lead times tied to the production ramp.
Qualify and dual-source critical categories so no single supplier can stall the factory.
Drive total cost, not just price: freight, spares, uptime, and terms.
What We're Looking For
The below is a starting point. We always make space for exceptional people, so if you don't fit this role exactly, tell us where you would.
You've sourced capital equipment or industrial categories at scale and closed the deals yourself.
You've built supplier redundancy that got tested and held.
You negotiate from a should-cost model, not a quote comparison.
You've managed suppliers through a factory launch or major ramp.
Your contracts anticipate the failure modes: delays, quality, and support.
Bonus: Manufacturing launches. Equipment categories such as weld, CNC, and material handling. International supply bases. ERP procurement.
We are committed to pay equity and transparency.

You debug hardware-software boundaries without a lab bench.
