Mechanical Engineer, Capacity Delivery
About Fluidstack
We exist to make humanity more free. For most of human history, you farmed or you starved. Technology gave people more time for the things they wanted to do, instead of things they had to do. Powerful AI will be the biggest lever for human choice we've ever built - but only if models are aligned with what humanity actually wants. There are groups building AI who don't share these goals. Whoever deploys frontier compute infrastructure fastest will decide whether AI expands human freedom or shrinks it.
We're singularly focused on delivering 10 to 100s of GWs of compute faster than anyone else, rethinking every layer of the stack. We acquire power, design and build data centers, and operate them - with teams spanning hardware and software. Speed and scale are our key differentiators. Come be a part of building civilization-scale infrastructure for AI.
We hire people who care deeply about this problem space. If that is you, please apply!
How We Operate
Extreme ownership. Full autonomy. Own things end to end often taking on scope outside your core role without being asked to get things done.
Velocity. We drive everything forward as fast as possible.
First principles. Challenge every assumption. Zero analogy thinking, no egos, the best idea wins.
Love of the game. The frontier of AI is the most interesting problem of our time. We put in long hours at high intensity to push the frontier forward.

Design it once, build it a hundred times. Every site's lessons roll into the reference design on the way to 10s to 100s of GWs, so each build starts ahead of the last.
Role Scope
Own mechanical engineering for assigned sites: review, field support, and closeout of cooling and piping scope.
Review mechanical packages against the reference design and flag deviations with impact stated, not just difference.
Answer field mechanical RFIs in hours and turn recurring ones into design fixes.
Support startup and commissioning with engineering: flushing, filling, and balancing questions answered fast.
What We're Looking For
The below is a starting point. We always make space for exceptional people, so if you don't fit this role exactly, tell us where you would.
You've done mechanical engineering for data center or industrial plants.
You read P&IDs, hydraulic calculations, and equipment schedules fluently.
You've supported construction and commissioning in the field.
Your RFI answers are fast and right, in that order and both.
Bonus: Liquid cooling systems. PE track. Pipe stress analysis. Modular skid design.
We are committed to pay equity and transparency.

The Data Center Operations Team
Examples of key problems the team is working on
Operate at the scale of a nation, not a building. The fleet you run will draw more power than some countries, on the way to 10s to 100s of GWs.
Fly the plane while it's being built. Sites come online in pieces, and you keep the live ones running flawlessly while construction continues around them.
Write the playbook, don't inherit it. No prior operations org has run at this speed and scale, so the standards you set become the standard.
Role Scope
Build and run the software layer over facility controls: BMS and EPMS integrations, alarm pipelines, and automated response.
Write integrations against controls protocols so plant data lands in one queryable place.
Build alarm rationalization and routing so operators see signal, not noise.
Automate controlled responses to known plant conditions, safely, with rollback.
What We're Looking For
The below is a starting point. We always make space for exceptional people, so if you don't fit this role exactly, tell us where you would.
You've written software against building or industrial controls: BACnet, Modbus, OPC-UA.
You've fixed an alarm flood problem with engineering, not with acknowledgment fatigue.
You respect the blast radius of touching live plant and design accordingly.
You're fluent in Python or Go plus the messiness of OT data.
Bonus: Data center BMS and EPMS. Ignition or Niagara. Time-series databases. Safety instrumented systems awareness.
We are committed to pay equity and transparency.

The Talent Team
Examples of key problems the team is working on
Deploy AI across the entire funnel. Sourcing, screening, scheduling, and analysis run on AI, so a small team moves like a large one.
Treat talent as the critical path. Every team's ability to hit its goals is gated on hiring, so recruiting is the constraint the whole company watches.
Build a brand the best want to join. Make Fluidstack a place exceptional people seek out, not one they have to be convinced about.
Role Scope
Develop and maintain project documentation, including workflows, use cases, and standard operating procedures.
Lead the implementation of new tools and processes, including user acceptance testing and training material development.
Track and manage project milestones, surfacing risks early and keeping stakeholders and leadership current on status.
Execute change management by building comprehensive user communications, training materials, and adoption tracking mechanisms.
Partner with cross-functional teams to define requirements, prioritize feedback, and drive consensus on solutions.
Serve as the key point of contact for Fluidstack's contingent worker contracts, advising managers on engagement strategy, compliance requirements, and best practices.
What We're Looking For
The below is a starting point. We always make space for exceptional people, so if you don't fit this role exactly, .
You've built your career in recruiting or HR and know how a talent function runs from the inside.
You've run change management or organizational transformation work and brought the people affected along with it.
You've worked hands-on with contingent workforce programs, from engagement strategy through compliance.
Detail and organization are habits, not afterthoughts: nothing slips through in a program you run.
You write and speak clearly, whether the audience is a hiring manager, a vendor, or leadership.
You've driven decisions and adoption across teams you don't manage, influencing without direct authority.
You've supported or run programs across multiple regions, working through regional differences in compliance, process, and stakeholder needs.
We are committed to pay equity and transparency.

Role Scope
Own fleet reliability engineering: define availability targets, measure them honestly, and close the gap.
Run root cause analysis on the fleet's worst incidents and drive corrective actions to done across every site.
Build the failure data pipeline, facility and hardware both, that turns incident history into engineering priorities.
Set the maintenance strategy (reliability-centered, condition-based) so the fleet spends effort where the failure data says to.

You work fluently with failure data: Weibull, Pareto, and FMEA are tools you actually use, not terms you know.
You get corrective actions closed across teams you don't manage.

Role Scope
Commission mechanical systems for gigawatt-scale data centers: chilled water plants, CDUs, liquid loops, and airside systems from Level 2 through Level 5.
Write and execute test scripts that prove capacity, redundancy, and failure response, not just that equipment turns on.
Run functional and integrated systems tests with controls and electrical so the building performs as one system.
Feed test findings back into the standard design so the next site commissions faster.
What We're Looking For
The below is a starting point. We always make space for exceptional people, so if you don't fit this role exactly, tell us where you would.
You've commissioned mechanical plant on mission critical facilities through integrated systems testing.
You've written test procedures from sequences of operation, and found where the sequence was wrong.
You read P&IDs and controls drawings fluently.
You troubleshoot live systems with vendors watching and a deadline standing behind you.
Bonus: Liquid cooling and direct-to-chip systems. CxA credential. Modular data centers. Test and balance oversight.

Set the design schedule per site and hold architect and engineer of record firms to it, escalating slips while recovery is cheap.
Run the design review machine so packages clear constructability, cost, and reference-design conformance in one pass.

You read across disciplines well enough to catch the cross-discipline gaps single-discipline reviewers miss.
You've built review processes that made packages better and faster at the same time.

The Construction Team
Examples of key problems the team is working on
Put gigawatts in the ground, faster than anyone has. We're delivering one of the largest data center buildouts of its kind, with many sites running at once. Traditional construction management breaks at this scale, so we're building the model that replaces it.
Throw out traditional construction and invent how gigawatts get built. Tons of tools, layers of process, and administrative drag don't get you there. You'll strip all of that out and win by solving the real problem and beating the goal, not by managing toward it.
Productize the data center so we can build it a thousand times. You'll turn one-off construction into a repeatable, modular build, where the hundredth site goes up faster and cleaner than the first. That repeatability is the only way to reach the scale we're targeting.
Role Scope
Run the field on a gigawatt-scale data center build: sequencing, trade coordination, and daily production against the plan.
Walk the job daily and clear blockers before crews wait: RFIs, materials, access, inspections.
Enforce quality and safety standards at the workface, not from the trailer.
Coordinate with commissioning so systems complete in the order startup needs, not the order construction prefers.
What We're Looking For
The below is a starting point. We always make space for exceptional people, so if you don't fit this role exactly, tell us where you would.
You've superintended heavy industrial or mission critical construction and hit the dates.
You sequence trades in your head and spot a clash before it costs a day.
Inspectors and foremen both respect you, for different reasons.
You've closed out punch lists that stayed closed.
You'll travel and live where the work is.
Bonus: Data center MEP-heavy builds. Modular installation. OSHA 30. Commissioning handover experience.
We are committed to pay equity and transparency.
