About Goodfire
Goodfire is a research company using interpretability to understand, learn from, and design AI systems. Our mission is to build the next generation of safe and powerful AI—not by scaling alone, but by understanding the intelligence we're building.
Scaling has proven powerful, but today's approach is fundamentally limited: we can't meaningfully understand, debug, or shape what models learn. Every engineering discipline has been gated by fundamental science and AI is at that inflection point now.
We're advancing the science of how AI systems actually work. Treating models as black boxes is an unnecessary handicap—we have access to the structures inside them, and understanding those structures lets us steer what models learn, make them safer and more useful, and extract the vast knowledge they contain. Our goal is to make AI that can be understood, debugged, and shaped like software.
Goodfire is a public benefit corporation headquartered in San Francisco with a team of the world’s top interpretability researchers and engineers from organizations like OpenAI and DeepMind. We're backed by over $200M from B Capital, Menlo Ventures, Lightspeed, Eric Schmidt, and others.
About the role
We’re searching for an Executive Assistant who will support our COO and Principal Investigator- someone who will make it their mission to protect their time and attention so they can stay focused on the highest-impact work. You’ll own their calendar and inboxes, orchestrate travel and meeting logistics, assist with personal tasks, coordinate internal and external meetings, and partner closely with our Operations team to create an exceptional employee experience.
The work is intense and fast-paced. We’re looking for someone who can keep pace without ever lowering their standards for excellence. No two days will look the same and you’ll face problems that don’t come with a playbook. If you thrive in ambiguity, love bringing order to complexity, and find genuine joy in making helping people and an organization run better, we’d love to hear from you!
Who you are
You care deeply, have an exceptionally high bar for quality, are relentlessly organized, have strong communication skills, and are energized by solving problems. You thrive in high-growth environments where priorities shift quickly, take pride in flawless execution, and treat every challenge, whether rescheduling a board meeting or sourcing last-minute catering, as an opportunity to do valuable and meaningful work. You also understand that strong executive support is built on strong relationships, so you have a desire to invest in earning trust across the organization to become a reliable partner to everyone in the organization.
Preferred qualifications
Experience working in a fast-paced, early-stage startup environment
Prior experience supporting C‑level executives in a venture‑backed startup
Comfort negotiating with vendors and managing complex calendars across time zones
Demonstrated success planning multi‑day off‑sites or customer events
Proficiency with modern productivity tools (e.g., Google Workspace, Notion, Slack

Take ownership and initiative
There are no bystanders here. We proactively identify problems and take full responsibility over getting a strong result. We are self-driven, own our mistakes, and feel deep responsibility over what we’re building.
Action today
We have a small amount of time to do something incredibly hard and meaningful. The pace and intensity of the organization is high. If we can take action today or tomorrow, we will choose to do it today.

About the role
We're hiring a Head of Compute to own the strategy behind one of the most critical resources at the company: our compute for model training, research, and customers. You'll own everything from how we allocate our compute to how we source capacity, whether that's renting, partnering, or owning our own GPUs. You’ll make the calls that determine how far our world-class research and product ambitions can go.
We're looking for someone who can navigate GPU scarcity and partner negotiations with rigor, and moves with exceptional urgency. You'll need strong judgment to balance competing demands and the conviction to make hard trade-offs rather than split the difference. You may be the right fit if you find the intersection of infrastructure, strategy, and high-stakes resource allocation exhilarating.
Key responsibilities
Own Goodfire’s compute strategy across training, research, and customer workloads
Build and execute our compute sourcing strategy, deciding when to rent, partner, or own GPUs. Continuously optimize for cost, reliability, and strategic flexibility
Secure the compute capacity and pricing that protect our ambitions under real GPU scarcity
Own the economics of compute end-to-end, including vendor negotiations, contract strategy, capacity planning, utilization, and long-term impact
Partner closely with research and product teams to translate roadmaps into concrete compute requirements and ensure infrastructure never becomes a bottleneck
Build forecasting models that anticipate compute demand and enable confident long-term planning
Partner with finance and leadership on capital allocation, investment decisions, and infrastructure strategy

Goodfire is looking for individuals who embody our values and share our deep commitment to making interpretability accessible. We are building a team first and foremost.

About the role
We're looking for an Account Executive to close strategic partnerships in Robotics and Vision. This role demands consultative selling ability, technical fluency, and strong market judgment: the ability to understand the robotics market, build thoughtful account strategies, and identify where Goodfire can help customers build safer, more capable AI systems.
This is a high-autonomy role where you will help define our go-to-market motion for the Robotics and Vision vertical from the ground up. You will own strategic accounts end to end: developing account plans, running discovery with deeply technical buyers, partnering with the Field Team to scope pilots, negotiating commercial terms, and expanding successful engagements across complex technical organizations.
Our buyers are CTOs, Heads of AI, and research leaders. You’ll need to be technically curious, precise, and credible enough to earn trust with technical teams.
Key responsibilities
Own strategic sales cycles: build pipeline, run discovery, navigate technical and executive stakeholders, negotiate agreements, and close new partnerships.
Develop vertical account strategies: map the Robotics and Vision market, identify the right wedge, and prioritize accounts where Goodfire can create meaningful value.
Translate technical roadmaps into commercial opportunities: understand customer needs across perception, planning, autonomy, computer vision, robotics, and deployment.
Partner with the Field Team: shape pilots, technical scopes, success criteria, and expansion paths that demonstrate real impact for customers.
Build vertical-specific playbooks: test messaging, qualification criteria, deal structures, and repeatable motions.
What you’ll bring
Required experience
Experience owning and closing complex sales cycles with technical or research-oriented buyers.
Strong discovery, commercial judgment, and ability to connect a technical product to a concrete customer problem.
Ability to learn robotics, embodied AI, computer vision, reinforcement learning, autonomy, and deployment concepts quickly and communicate credibly with engineers, researchers, CTOs, and Heads of AI.
Ability to manage a complex technical sales motion while understanding customer workflows and success criteria.
High agency, strong written and verbal communication, and comfort operating without a fully mature sales playbook.
Preferred qualifications
Experience selling AI/ML, infrastructure, developer tools, data platforms, robotics, autonomy, security, or other deeply technical products.
Familiarity with robotics, embodied AI, computer vision, reinforcement learning, simulation, autonomy, or model deployment workflows.
Track record selling to CTOs, Heads of AI, research leaders, robotics teams, autonomy teams, ML platform teams, or technical executives.

We're looking for a Sales Development Representative to be the first person who earns the attention of the technical leaders building the next generation of AI systems. This role demands curiosity, precision, and persistence: the ability to understand who is training models, recognize where Goodfire can create value, and start conversations that become strategic partnerships.
This is a high-ownership role where you will help build the earliest motion for reaching frontier AI builders. You won't be running generic sales scripts; you'll research accounts deeply, craft targeted outreach, learn from every interaction, and help define how Goodfire creates pipeline in a category that is still being formed.
You'll work closely with our Field Team, GTM, and founders to translate market signals into better messaging and better account strategy. The strongest person for this role is intellectually curious, comfortable with technical products, and motivated by opening doors with people who are hard to reach.
Key responsibilities
Build high-quality outbound pipeline: identify and research the AI labs, platform teams, and model builders where Goodfire can create meaningful value
Craft deeply personalized outreach: translate account research, product signals, research milestones, and market context into precise messages that earn attention
Create the first version of our SDR playbook: test channels, messaging, sequences, and qualification criteria in a market where the standard SaaS playbook will not work
Partner with GTM and Field teams: bring signal from prospects back into account strategy, campaign design, and early sales conversations
Maintain rigorous pipeline operations: own CRM hygiene, handoffs, follow-up, and reporting so the team can understand what is working and scale it
What you’ll bring
Required experience
Demonstrated ability to learn technical products quickly and communicate clearly with technical or research-oriented buyers.
Excellent written communication and attention to detail; your outbound should feel researched, specific, and worth replying to.
High agency, persistence, and comfort operating without a fully built playbook.
Strong organizational habits and ability to manage many high-quality follow-ups without letting details drop.
Preferred qualifications
Experience in SDR, AE, growth, founder-led sales, or another role where you created opportunities from scratch.
Familiarity with AI/ML teams, infrastructure, developer tools, research organizations, or enterprise technical buyers.
Track record of excellence in a high-growth startup or similarly ambiguous environment.
Experience using research, product usage, community, or event signals to identify high-intent prospects.
Our values
Goodfire is looking for individuals who embody our values and share our deep commitment to making interpretability accessible. We are building a team first and foremost.

About the role
We're looking for a GTM Recruiter to build the team that brings Goodfire to market. This role demands judgment, urgency, and strong pattern recognition: the ability to understand what excellent looks like across sales, marketing, partnerships, and customer-facing technical roles, and to turn that understanding into high-quality hiring pipelines.
This is a high-ownership role where you will partner closely with founders and GTM leaders to define scorecards, source exceptional candidates, run thoughtful processes, and sell candidates on a company and category that are still early. You will help shape the team before the operating playbook is fully written.
The strongest person for this role is both rigorous and persuasive. You'll need to move quickly without lowering the bar, understand the difference between good candidates and truly exceptional ones, and create a candidate experience that reflects the quality and ambition of Goodfire.
Key responsibilities
Own GTM searches end to end: run full-cycle recruiting for roles across sales, marketing, partnerships, business development, and other customer-facing functions
Build exceptional sourcing pipelines: map target companies, identify high-agency operators, and create outreach that earns attention from candidates who are not actively looking
Partner deeply with hiring managers: define role requirements, calibrate on talent, manage interview loops, and keep the bar consistent as hiring volume grows
Sell the Goodfire story: help candidates understand the technical depth of our work, the scale of the opportunity, and the specific impact they could have
Build recruiting infrastructure: create lightweight systems for pipeline tracking, referrals, candidate experience, interviewer feedback, and closing process
What you’ll bring
Required experience
Experience owning full-cycle recruiting for GTM or business roles in a high-growth startup, technical company, or similarly selective environment.
Strong sourcing ability and candidate judgment; you can identify high-potential operators before they are obvious on paper.
Excellent stakeholder management and the ability to drive process clarity with busy hiring managers.
High agency, strong written communication, and comfort operating in ambiguity.
Preferred qualifications
Experience as an early recruiting hire where you built GTM hiring and pipelines from scratch.
Experience hiring for sales, marketing, partnerships, business development, or customer-facing technical roles in AI, developer tools, infrastructure, or enterprise software.
Track record of closing exceptional candidates in competitive markets.
Comfort translating a technical company narrative into a compelling candidate pitch for non-technical GTM candidates.

About the role
We're looking for Product Engineers to help build the core product experience for training, evaluating, debugging, and deploying interpretable AI systems at scale. You'll play a central role in turning Goodfire's research and platform capabilities into products that people can actually use: clear interfaces, reliable workflows, developer tools, and product surfaces that make model internals understandable and actionable.
This role is similar to our Machine Learning Engineer role, but with a stronger focus on core product building. You will work across engineering, design, research, and field teams to translate state-of-the-art interpretability into robust product features, from early prototypes through production systems used by customers.
Where you might contribute
Product surfaces: build the interfaces, workflows, and developer experiences
Research-to-product translation: turn new interpretability techniques into usable features that are reliable, explainable, and easy to adopt
Customer workflows: build product paths that support real-world use cases across evaluation, model understanding, intervention, monitoring, and deployment
Platform integration: connect product features to the underlying infrastructure for model analysis, training, inference, and experimentation
We'll work with you to determine the team and product area that best aligns with your strengths.
Key responsibilities
Turn cutting-edge interpretability research into production-ready product features: partner with researchers and ML engineers to make new capabilities usable in the product
Build high-quality product experiences: own full-stack features, APIs, workflows, and interfaces from ambiguous idea to shipped product
Create product systems that are reliable and fast: ensure the product is performant, reproducible, observable, and stable enough for real customer use
Shape product direction through engineering judgment: identify obvious fixes, propose better workflows, and help decide what Goodfire should build next
What you’ll bring
Required experience
2+ years of experience building production software, especially user-facing products, data-intensive systems, or AI/ML products.
Strong engineering fundamentals and ability to work across the stack, with depth in at least one of frontend, backend, systems, or product infrastructure.
Strong product judgment; you care about making powerful technical systems feel clear, reliable, and easy to use.
Comfort working across research, engineering, design, and customer-facing teams.
You care about understanding how models work internally and using that understanding to make AI systems more reliable and useful in the real world.
Preferred qualifications
Experience building products for technical users, developers, researchers, ML engineers, or infrastructure teams.
Startup or frontier lab experience in fast-moving teams.
