At Groups, the Admissions Counselor leads the treatment team, alongside providers, care navigators, and administrators. The Admissions Counselor is the expert on addiction and recovery, and coordinates decisions about the member’s treatment. Meanwhile, providers are asked to focus on what they do best: medication management. By putting seasoned, compassionate Admissions Counselors in the lead, and minimizing bureaucracy at every turn, we’re able to deliver care that is both more affordable and of higher quality than the status quo.

As an Admissions Counselor you will manage and further develop your clinical skill set and knowledge of Groups roles responsibilities as it relates to the clinical service model.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Unlock great clinical outcomes for our members by adhering to Groups Recovery System and providing consistent, high quality counseling activities.
• Conduct intake assessments to evaluate individuals’ appropriateness for our program.
• Complete clinical assessments as assigned each day
• Provide individual support, as needed, such as crisis intervention, referrals to other resources, liaising with outside parties involved in the member’s treatment and coordinating with the Care Navigators.
• Utilize our custom EMR to document members’ progress in a manner that is efficient and value-added, fully digitized, and never bureaucratic and ensure all clinicians in office follow suit.
• Partner with providers to evaluate appropriateness of treatment for every member who enters our program.
• In charge of all compliance activities associated with member admission requirements and corresponding documentation
• Participate in internal and external training required for upkeep of licensure.
• Responsible for documenting care coordination needs handled by Care Navigator.
• Participate as representative of the treatment team that discusses difficult members

The Partnership Development Manager serves as the primary external relationship leader for their market. This role is responsible for developing and managing strategic referral partnerships across healthcare systems, behavioral health providers, justice-involved organizations, community agencies, employers, and other key stakeholders.

During the integration of Better Life Partners and Groups, this individual will represent and support both organizations, building referral relationships that expand access to treatment while ensuring a seamless experience for partners throughout the transition.

At Groups, the Senior Staff Provider, Access works with a small team of experienced providers, counselors, and support-staff to facilitate intakes and enhanced medical support throughout the early weeks of treatment for Groups members. You will leverage telemedicine extensively in your work, so you must be comfortable with technology and enthusiastic about the benefits of this exciting modality. You will work daily to overcome the barriers faced by members early in recovery and must adopt a “member-first” attitude that prioritizes keeping members safe and engaged in treatment at all costs. Flexibility, empathy, and commitment to member success are critical attributes for a successful Senior Staff Provider. You will also provide longitudinal maintenance care to a panel of members. Additionally, you will support your regular provider colleagues by providing coverage when medical questions or needs arise, and these providers are unavailable.

Your knowledge of the Groups Recovery policies and procedures, as well as, the Groups culture, will be critical for ensuring successful launches of Groups into new markets and new geographies within existing markets. Finally, you will be an integral partner of the medical leadership team in developing and deploying new medical service lines for our members.

• Intake medical duties
• Determine each member’s medical necessity and appropriateness for treatment pursuant to applicable clinical models, policies and procedures, and manuals as required by Recover Together. For members admitted to treatment, prescribe buprenorphine/naloxone and, where appropriate, other approved medications to treat withdrawal symptoms, in a manner consistent with Recover Together’s policies and procedures.
• Maintain a regular schedule of “intake shifts” and be available to provide rapid-access telemedicine intakes across multiple geographies, including new markets.
• Complete all intake documentation thoroughly, efficiently, and accurately.
• Be accountable for the successful initiation of Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) during the early weeks of treatment (weeks 1-4, approximately).
• As needed, coordinate with community providers to support the successful transition of new members into Groups.
• Collaborate with other provider colleagues to transition the care of new members into regular maintenance groups.
• Escalate controversial situations to appropriate medical and/or clinical leadership

Additional Medical Responsibilities

• In addition to standard provider duties, the physician in this role will provide coverage and operational support for the Medical Director during periods of absence, ensuring continuity of clinical oversight and decision-making as needed.
• Deliver medical supervision for assigned Access Staff Providers, including availability for consultation, clinical guidance, and support related to patient care activities.
• Perform required chart reviews for designated Access Staff Providers and complete co-signature documentation in accordance with organizational policy, regulatory standards, and quality expectations.
• Facilitate access to the State’s prescription drug monitoring database so Groups staff can regularly monitor the Provider’s patients’ access to controlled substances, per Recover Together’s clinical protocols.
• Participate in prescription coverage for unavailable providers if warranted by standard operating procedures guidelines.
• Provide cross-coverage as needed for colleagues

Medical Records

• In compliance with HIPAA and other applicable federal or state laws, rules or regulations regarding medical records, maintain patient records in confidence and complete records in a timely fashion and in accordance with policies of the Company.

Administrative Duties

• Completing high quality documentation, specifically all medical encounters accurately and thoroughly on the same business day as the encounter
• Sign all prescriptions on the same business day that they are generated
• Manage individual sessions in a timely manner so members and office staff stay on schedule
• Assist with onboarding, training and support of new providers
• Stay familiar with all Recover Together policies, procedures, reference materials, contracts, etc.
• Serve as collaborating physician for assigned NP/PA providers, if applicable. This includes completing supervision, documentation reviews, and chart reviews, as required by state specific.
• Follow up on interprofessional communications

• 2+ year of experience managing OUT with buprenorphine, preferably within the Groups Recovery System

As a member of the Executive Leadership Team, this leader partners with the CEO, CFO, and Board to convert Groups' clinical and operating advantage into durable scale — expanding the reach of value-based addiction care into new states, markets, and populations.

Scope of Responsibility
The Head of Corporate Development owns four integrated pillars:
1. Mergers & Acquisitions
Drive strategy on end-to-end M&A strategy and execution across the acquisition pipeline.
• Strategy & Thesis. Develop and maintain the corporate M&A strategy aligned with Groups' strategic roadmap; define target criteria across geography, payer mix, clinical model, and strategic adjacencies.
• Pipeline & Origination. Build and manage a proprietary pipeline of SUD, behavioral health, and adjacent targets; cultivate long-lead relationships with founders, operators, intermediaries, and sector bankers.
• Diligence. Lead end-to-end diligence — clinical, financial, operational, regulatory, compliance, payer, and IT — coordinating internal stakeholders and external advisors.
• Valuation & Structuring. Build and pressure-test financial models; develop valuation views and deal structures (cash, equity, earn-outs, rollover) that optimize risk-adjusted returns in partnership with CFO.
• Execution. Negotiate LOIs, definitive agreements, and ancillary documents in partnership with legal counsel; manage sign-to-close workstreams.
• Governance. Prepare Board and investor materials; maintain transparent reporting on pipeline, deal economics, and post-close performance.

2. Post-Close Integration
Own the discipline that converts deal thesis into realized value.
• Integration Planning. Design and execute integration plans from signing through full absorption — Day 1 readiness, 100-day plans, and 12-month value-capture roadmaps.
• Cross-Functional Leadership. Quarterback integration workstreams across clinical, operations, finance, HR, IT, compliance, and payer contracting.
• Synergy Realization. Define synergy targets tied to the deal model; track and report against them; escalate risks early.
• Talent & Culture. Partner with People team on retention, onboarding, and cultural integration — protecting Groups' mission-driven culture while absorbing new teams.
• Playbook. Build and iterate on Groups' institutional integration playbook so every successive transaction is faster, cheaper, and more reliable.

3. De Novo Development
Partner with Operations and Finance on the organic expansion engine that complements M&A — opening new Groups locations in existing and new state markets.
• Market Selection. Partner with Chief Commercial Officer to develop and maintain a market-prioritization methodology incorporating prevalence, payer landscape, regulatory pathway, competitive intensity, and unit economics.
• Regulatory & Licensing Pathway. Partner with Legal and Compliance to sequence state licensing, Medicaid enrollment, and accreditation timelines into the launch plan.
• Site Strategy. Partner with Operations, Growth and Finance on site selection, real estate partnerships, and buildout coordination; establish standards and vendor relationships that scale.
• Launch Execution. Partner with Operations on the launch playbook — hiring, credentialing, payer contracting, community and referral development — driving faster ramps and more predictable unit economics.
• Economics & Learning Loop. Track de novo cohort performance against model; institutionalize learnings to improve each subsequent opening.

4. Strategic Growth Opportunities
Partner with Clinical team on the aperture of non-M&A, non-de-novo strategic initiatives that expand Groups' addressable opportunity.
• Service Line Expansion. Evaluate and sequence adjacent service lines — behavioral health, alcohol use disorder, eating disorder treatment, recovery support, and wraparound services — that extend the clinical model.
• Strategic Partnerships & JVs. Partner with Chief Commercial Officer on structure partnerships with health plans, health systems, MSOs, and community organizations, including risk-bearing arrangements and joint ventures.
• Platform Investments. Partner with Head of Technology on build-vs-buy-vs-partner decisions for capabilities (data, technology, clinical infrastructure) that enable scale.
• Long-Range Strategy. Partner with the CEO and CFO on three-to-five-year strategic planning and capital allocation.

Salary Range: $53,041 - $63,565 *Based on experience, and education
Schedule: Tuesday through Friday schedule, with four 10-hour workdays (40 hours per week).

What You’ll Do

• Lead 3–4 one-hour group therapy sessions per day using a structured, evidence-based curriculum.
• Facilitate group discussions using a “plug and play” approach from approved modalities to meet members where they are within the guardrails of our clinical framework.
• Collaborate with prescribers, care navigators, and recovery coaches.
• Monitor member progress and document outcomes.
• Support a positive, recovery-oriented environment for members.
• Engage in local community outreach to promote Groups’ mission.

• Master’s degree required.

• Preferred: Active behavioral health licensure including but not limited to: ADC, AADC, LPC, LICSW and associate level status with ability and willingness to obtain licensure reciprocity in other states

• Minimum two years’ leading groups in a SUD setting.
• High comfort level with Technology: EMR, Telehealth software, Google products (Gmail, Google Docs/Sheets/Drive), mobile apps, etc.
• Compassion, collaboration, commitment to quality care, and an investment in member success.
• Ability to work 2-3 evenings per week up to 9pm as needed.
• Other preferred backgrounds, experience, and skills include: mental health, social work, substance use disorder treatment, therapy, human services, social services, medication assisted treatment or MAT.

Nurse Practitioner/ Advance Practice Nurse (1099):

• Assist in conducting intakes. Providers see patients after they have already undergone an extensive evaluation by the counselor.
• Monitor patients' clinical progress at regular group counseling sessions. Groups are run by specialized counseling staff; providers participate by answering questions and managing patients’ medication dosing.
• Authorize patients' prescriptions during monthly visits with patient panels.
• Complete all notes and reporting in Groups EMR system within required timeline (providers receive full orientation/ training on Clinical Protocols before eligible to begin work with Groups)

*We utilize strict protocols to guide clinical decision-making. We have also developed a unique, technology-driven and team-based clinical system that handles all day-to-day patient management and regulatory compliance. This allows physicians to focus exclusively on medical management.

Nurse Practitioner/ Advance Practice Nurse (1099) Requirements:

• Active, Unencumbered State License (NP/APRN) in the State in which you are applying.
• Active, Individual DEA with address listed in the State in which you are applying (please note that if you intend on prescribing in multiple states, a separate DEA is required in each state in which you are planning on prescribing).
