Honor Technology’s mission is to change the way society cares for older adults. Together, Honor and Home Instead are setting a new standard for aging in place, backed by powerful technology, compassionate care, and a commitment to aging on your own terms.
Join us to create a new and better aging experience for our clients, their families, and our Care Professionals.
About Honor
Our mission is simple: change the way we care for our parents so they can age safely at home.
How we accomplish that mission is anything but simple. Delivering reliable home care requires coordinating people, schedules, geography, skills, preferences, and changing needs across a complex operating environment.
Honor combines technology, operations, and the local expertise of our partner agencies to improve how care is delivered at scale. Our platform supports the caregivers who provide care, the teams who coordinate it, and the families who depend on it.
We are looking for a Senior Manager, Data Science to lead a team applying advanced data science and AI to some of Honor’s most important operational challenges.
About the role
You will lead the development of models and decision systems that improve how Honor matches caregivers and clients, constructs sustainable schedules, allocates capacity, prioritizes operational work, and responds to changing conditions.
This is not an analytics support role. Your team will work directly with Product, Engineering, and Care Operations to turn difficult operating problems into production systems that improve measurable outcomes.
You will contribute to Honor’s broader Data Science and Applied AI direction, help shape the team’s roadmap, and remain hands-on as a player-coach.
What you’ll do
- Help shape the Data Science and Applied AI roadmap, identifying where predictive modeling, optimization, experimentation, forecasting, causal inference, and modern AI can create the greatest impact.
- Lead the development of production models and decision-support systems that improve matching, scheduling, operational prioritization, and service reliability.
- Apply modern AI, including agentic workflows, to improve how teams analyze information, make decisions, and execute operational work.
- Partner with Product, Engineering, and Operations from problem definition through deployment, adoption, and iteration.
- Establish strong standards for evaluating, monitoring, and responsibly deploying machine learning and AI-enabled systems.
- Lead, coach, and grow the team while remaining hands-on in high-priority projects as a player-coach.
Examples of problems you may solve
- Improving caregiver-client matching while balancing fit, continuity, availability, and travel.
- Building more reliable and sustainable schedules for caregivers and clients.
- Using data science and AI to identify operational risks earlier and help teams focus where they can have the greatest impact.
About you
- 7+ years of experience in data science, machine learning, operations research, applied AI, or a related field, including 3+ years leading teams.
- Have built or led the development of models or decision systems that operated in production and influenced meaningful business or customer outcomes.
- Can determine whether a problem calls for prediction, optimization, experimentation, simulation, workflow redesign, an AI agent, or no model at all.
- Understand that successful applied AI requires more than choosing a model. It requires clear objectives, reliable data and tools, rigorous evaluation, thoughtful system design, and appropriate human oversight.
- Experience partnering with Product, Engineering, Operations, and senior business stakeholders on ambiguous, cross-functional problems.
- Comfortable working with imperfect operational data while maintaining a high standard for measurement and technical rigor.
- Can communicate clearly with technical, operational, and executive audiences.
- Have a bias toward action and an iterative approach to problem-solving. You are willing to inspect the data, understand the workflow, prototype solutions, and revise your view.
- Are an effective people leader who can set clear expectations, develop talent, prioritize work, and build a strong technical culture.
Helpful experience
Experience with marketplace, logistics, workforce, scheduling, healthcare, or other complex operating systems is especially valuable, as is experience with optimization, forecasting, recommender systems, causal inference, agentic systems, or AI evaluation.
A bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral degree in a quantitative or technical field is welcome, but we care most about demonstrated ability, judgment, leadership, and impact.
Why this role is different
Many companies have interesting datasets. Honor has a dynamic operating environment in which technical decisions directly affect caregivers, care teams, families, and older adults. The opportunity is to build systems that do more than predict outcomes. They will help Honor decide what to do next, execute more effectively, and continuously learn from the results.
Our range reflects the hiring range for this position. We use national average to determine pay as we are a remote first company. Individual pay is based on a number of factors including qualifications, skills, experience, education, and training.

We provide medical, dental and vision coverage including zero cost plans for employees. Short Term Disability, Long Term Disability and Life Insurance are fully employer paid with a voluntary additional Life Insurance option. We offer a generous time off program, mental health benefits, wellness program, and discount program.
At Honor, we put people first. Our leadership culture is guided by Leadership Principles that prioritize integrity, compassion, and excellence. We offer a unique opportunity to lead with purpose and make a meaningful impact no matter your role.

About the Role
At Honor, compliance is a competitive advantage—not a gatekeeper. As we expand into new markets, grow our services, and evolve our operating model, our ability to translate complex regulatory requirements into efficient, scalable operations directly enables that growth.
We are seeking a Director of Compliance Operations to transform our compliance operations into a proactive function that actively enables Honor’s growth and operational efficiency. Reporting to the VP of Trust & Safety, the Director of Compliance Operations will lead a team of compliance and operations professionals, set the strategic direction for the function, and own day-to-day execution of compliance across the Honor platform. This is a deeply cross-functional role that combines strategy and execution, with regulatory complexity and operational pragmatism, and with people leadership and hands-on problem solving. Success isn't measured simply by maintaining compliance—it's measured by building durable operational systems that make compliance easier, more scalable, and more effective as the business grows.
The ideal candidate brings experience working at the intersection of technology and operations—someone who has successfully partnered with Product and Engineering to build tech-enabled solutions, knows how to make a compelling business case for technical investment, and can translate operational requirements into clear product specifications. Strong generalist instincts, sharp analytical skills, and the ability to see the forest and the trees are essential.
About the Team
The Compliance Operations team enables Honor's growth by transforming regulatory requirements into scalable operational practices. We partner across Regulatory, Product, Operations, Trust & Safety, Training, Market Leadership, and our Home Instead network to ensure Honor can confidently expand into new markets while maintaining the highest standards of quality, safety, and compliance.
As Director of Compliance Operations at Honor, you will:
- Set the strategic direction for the Compliance Operations function—defining how Honor manages compliance across employment law and home care licensing as we grow into new markets and expand our service offerings.
- Continuously assess for compliance risk and for opportunities to simplify, streamline, or eliminate operational friction in how we meet regulatory requirements.
- Own day-to-day compliance execution across all markets, personally stepping in to resolve complex issues while building durable systems and protocols so issues don’t recur.
- Partner with Product and Engineering to build tech-first, automated solutions that reduce manual compliance effort and scale our operations—including building the business case for technical investment, defining requirements, and driving implementation.
- Lead state licensing audits and audit-readiness programs end to end—identifying gaps proactively, developing remediation plans, and driving closure across internal and field partner teams.
- Ensure operational readiness for new markets and service offerings.
- Translate regulatory changes into clear, actionable operational requirements, ensuring Legal guidance becomes executable protocol across the business.
- Build and develop a high-performing team of 5–10 compliance and operations professionals, setting clear expectations, developing team members, and creating a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Develop and own key compliance metrics and dashboards that give senior leadership clear visibility into risk, operational readiness, and efficiency across all markets.
Leadership Principles we’ll assess in this role:
- Balance Incremental and Radical Change: You operate on two tracks simultaneously. On one, you’re making targeted, practical improvements to close existing compliance gaps and strengthen day-to-day operations. On the other, you’re identifying the larger, system-level changes—in process, technology, or structure—that will make compliance fundamentally more efficient and scalable. You know which track a given problem belongs on, and you move both forward at once.
- Tend to Be Right and Think Systemically: You make sound, well-informed decisions by balancing compliance risk against business and operational risk—and you’re comfortable holding both at once. When solutions exist on a spectrum, you find the middle ground that protects compliance without unnecessarily constraining growth or the client experience. You think across markets, teams, and the product ecosystem before you act, and your decisions hold up over time.
- Get S*%t Done: You move quickly and with purpose. You bring enough pattern recognition from prior experience to identify what matters, act independently, and deliver results without waiting for a full roadmap.
- Identify Problems: You don’t wait for problems to surface—you go looking for them. Through data, deep-dive operational audits, and close attention to what’s happening on the ground, you continuously identify compliance risk, operational risk caused by overly burdensome compliance requirements, and opportunities to improve efficiency. You find root causes, not just symptoms, and you own the solution through to implementation.
Core Competencies
- Technology & Operations Partnership: Proven experience working at the intersection of technology and operations. Knows how to translate ambiguous operational needs into clear product requirements and drive projects through to delivery.
- Strategic Leadership: Thinks beyond current gaps to define what a mature, proactive compliance function looks like at Honor’s scale—and builds the roadmap to get there.
- Team Development and Functional Leadership: Experienced people leader with a track record of developing individuals and building high-performing teams.
- Cross-Functional Influence: Operates effectively across organizational boundaries. Navigates competing priorities, builds durable alignment, and drives execution across stakeholders at all levels.
- Analytical Rigor: Brings exceptional analytical skills and experience working with large, imperfect data sets to extract meaningful insights. Uses data to identify risk, measure progress, and drive decisions.
We’re looking for you to bring:
- 8–10 years of experience in operations, product operations, or compliance roles within a technology-first or high-growth company—health tech, logistics, or distributed workforce environments are a strong fit.
- Demonstrated experience working at the intersection of technology and operations, including partnering with Product and Engineering teams to define requirements and deliver solutions.
- Track record of developing functional areas for scale — building the systems, processes, and team structures that enable the function to get ahead of problems rather than chase them.
- Exceptional analytical skills with experience working with large, complex, or imperfect data sets; proficiency with data visualization tools and experience developing operational KPIs.
- Strong cross-functional leadership and stakeholder management skills.
- Demonstrated people management experience, including developing high-performing teams and managing through ambiguity and change.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to distill complex regulatory or operational topics for non-expert audiences and senior leadership.
- Preferred: experience with employment law compliance, home care or healthcare regulation, state licensing, or multi-state regulatory environments.
Compensation & Benefits
The annual base salary range for this role is $176,400 - $196,000 . Individual compensation will be commensurate with the candidate’s experience and qualifications.
Base pay is just one part of our total rewards program. Honor offers equity and 401K with up to a 4% match. We provide medical, dental and vision coverage including a zero-cost plan for employees. In this role you’ll be part of a mission-driven team in a sector with existing, strong demand. You’ll have unlimited earning potential with uncapped commissions, backed by a meritocratic culture that rewards your success. - Actively mobilize referral partners by aligning Home Instead services to their patient/client needs, organizational goals, and care gaps.

- Field-Based, Relationship-Driven Selling
- Spend ~75% of your time in the community executing purposeful, repeatable field outreach.
- Influence and align multiple stakeholders within partner organizations to move from interest to action to consistent referral behavior.
- Build credibility and trust through consistent presence, consultative conversations, and value-based engagement.
- Long-Term Relationship Management
- Maintain the long-term engagement, and productivity of referral relationships.
- Proactively re-energize stalled relationships to maintain forward momentum over long sales cycles.

Key Results:
- Referral Demand Growth
- Sustained growth in qualified referral inquiries from priority referral partners
- Increased referral share from the highest-impact accounts within the territory

- Execution Discipline & Reliability
- Consistent follow-through on commitments made to referral partners
- Demonstrated reliability, responsiveness, and loop closure across the portfolio
- Accurate and timely documentation of referral activity and insights in Salesforce
- Territory Judgment & Focus
- Clear evidence of prioritization, with time and effort concentrated on relationships that compound value

- Experience in outside, field-based sales, specifically selling a service
- 1+ year of experience in home care, healthcare, or a senior-related industry
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to use data to evaluate personal performance, identify gaps, and adapt outreach strategy to drive results.
- Comfort spending most time in the community and driving action-oriented conversations
- Comfort using required systems and tools (Salesforce, calendars, documents, Slack, etc.)
- Experience working in or knowledge of the Bay Area market
- Nice to Have

About the Role:
The Client Care Advisor plays a critical role in helping families navigate one of the most important decisions they’ll make: choosing the right care for a loved one. Leadership Principles:
Honor’s Leadership Principles are the foundation of translating our mission into action. These principles define how we show up and make decisions, and how we hire, develop and grow talent.
While Honor has 13 leadership principles, the following are particularly relevant to this role:
- Relentlessly Focus on Clients: Client Care Advisors start with the client and work backward. They prioritize decisions that improve the client experience, ensure clarity during consultations, and protect service quality over time. Every recommendation, follow-up, and reassessment is grounded in what will best serve the client and their family.
- Always Push: Client Care Advisors set a high bar for consult quality, conversion, and retention. They do not settle for incomplete discovery, passive follow-up, or preventable churn. They continuously raise their own standard of performance and look for ways to improve outcomes.
- Build Trust: CCAs earn credibility quickly with families navigating sensitive and emotional decisions. They communicate clearly, follow through on commitments, and handle complex situations with integrity and respect. Trust is the foundation of conversion, retention, and long-term partnership.
- GSD (Get Stuff Done): CCAs make measurable progress. They move families from inquiry to start, resolve issues quickly, and ensure execution aligns with what was promised. They are action-oriented and accountable for results, not just effort.
