The Role
We're hiring a Staff Identity Engineer to design and build the core identity, authentication, authorization, and data systems at the heart of Keycard — the infrastructure that lets agents prove trust, enforce policy, and operate autonomously at global scale.
Keycard is a control plane for agents: identity propagation, policy enforcement, audit logging, and runtime governance. The systems you build need to be dynamic, multi-tenant, and fast — delivering auth decisions in under 10ms across cloud, edge, and hybrid deployments. Your work will span from core distributed services to the SDKs and APIs that developers use, ensuring a seamless, trusted experience end to end.
You'll work directly with founders, product, design, and the engineers building our SDKs and platform services. You'll also help shape how we use agents internally — contributing to how Keycard becomes an agent-native engineering organization, not just a company that builds for one.
What We're Looking For
You have deep experience building and operating identity, authentication, and authorization systems. You understand OAuth, SCIM, OIDC, mTLS, and related primitives — and you treat them as products, not just infrastructure.
Strong distributed systems instincts. You design for security, multi-tenancy, and reliability, with clear thinking about consensus, transactionality, and extensible data models.
You're a programmer first — fluent in Go, Rust, or similar languages, comfortable moving across the stack from core systems and infrastructure to SDKs and APIs.
You thrive in 0→1 environments. You make hard trade-offs to ship today while laying groundwork for the long-term system, and you use iteration to accelerate the learning loop.
You lead by example — raising the bar for technical excellence while helping those around you grow. You communicate clearly through written plans and async updates, and know when to jump on a call.
Strong Candidates May Also Have
Active experimentation with agents in your own workflows (Claude Code, Cursor, MCP) and strong opinions on how engineering organizations should adopt them.
Experience designing extensible systems — WASM, plugin frameworks, dynamic policy engines — so developers and organizations can tailor platforms to their needs.
A track record of designing APIs, SDKs, or libraries with great ergonomics that other developers depend on.
Contributions to open source identity, security, or CNCF projects, or experience building and shaping developer ecosystems.

The Role
We're hiring a Staff Platform Engineer to build the core systems and infrastructure that power Keycard — from identity services and enforcement paths to the developer platforms and automation that let every engineer ship with confidence.
Keycard is a control plane for agents: identity propagation, policy enforcement, audit logging, and runtime governance. You'll move up and down the stack — building Kubernetes operators and CI/CD automation one day, contributing to core product services the next. The systems you build need to provide deterministic guarantees around delivery, consistency, and availability, creating the leverage Keycard needs to deliver trusted agent-native experiences at global scale.
You'll work directly with founders, product, design, and the engineers building our SDKs and core services. You'll also help shape how we use agents internally — contributing to how Keycard becomes an agent-native engineering organization, not just a company that builds for one.
What We're Looking For
You're a builder first, operator second — a programmer at heart who uses Go and/or Rust to create platforms and product systems. You've built developer-facing platforms (Kubernetes operators, CI/CD abstractions, internal tooling) as well as core services, and you think in terms of dynamic, reactive systems.
Strong distributed systems instincts. You have expertise in consensus, coordination, and state management, and you build systems that are secure, resilient, and fault-tolerant with best-in-class observability.
You treat the path to production as a product surface. You create automation, pipelines, and developer platforms that make shipping reliable software the default — empowering every engineer to deliver quickly and with confidence.
You thrive in 0→1 environments. You make hard trade-offs to ship today while laying groundwork for the long-term system, and you use iteration to accelerate the learning loop.

Strong Candidates May Also Have
Experience with identity and access protocols (OIDC, OAuth, mTLS) and active engagement with emerging agent protocols like MCP and A2A.
Background in edge computing, intelligent routing, or globally distributed systems — with ideas about how to make agent-native applications fast and resilient anywhere.
Experience extending runtimes with eBPF, service meshes, custom Kubernetes operators, or plugin-driven architectures (WASM, dynamic policy engines).
Hands-on experimentation with coding agents (Claude Code, Cursor, MCP) and strong opinions on how engineering organizations should adopt them.

The Role
We're hiring a Staff Data Engineer to design and build the operational data systems that power Keycard — the pipelines, storage layers, and APIs that drive near real-time enforcement, feedback loops, and customer insights. At Keycard, data isn't exhaust — it's core to the product.
The systems you build will serve both the transactional needs of our core identity services and the OLAP requirements that help organizations understand and improve their security posture. You'll balance streaming and batch paradigms — knowing when low-latency streaming is essential and when batch provides clarity and power. Your work will span from integrating external data sources to enabling policy evaluation to surfacing insights in dashboards and APIs.
You'll work directly with founders, product, and the engineers building our core services and SDKs. You'll have deep autonomy, accountability to deliver, and the chance to shape the data architecture of a category-defining company from the ground up.
What We're Looking For
You have strong experience designing resilient pipelines that balance streaming and batch paradigms. You know when to use streaming for low-latency enforcement and when batch provides clarity and power, and you've built systems that satisfy both transactional and analytical requirements.
You're a programmer at heart — fluent in Python, Go, and/or Rust, with experience building with Kafka, Parquet, and Iceberg. You think like a builder, not an operator, and you're excited to design APIs, pipelines, and storage systems end to end.
