About Langfuse
Open Source LLM Engineering Platform that helps teams build useful AI applications via tracing, evaluation, and prompt management (mission, product). We are now part of ClickHouse.
We're building the "Datadog" of this category; model capabilities continue to improve, but building useful applications is really hard, both in startups and enterprises.
Largest open source solution in this category: trusted by 19 of the Fortune 50, >2k customers, >26M monthly SDK downloads, >6M Docker pulls.
We joined ClickHouse in January 2026 because LLM observability is fundamentally a data problem and Langfuse already ran on ClickHouse. Together we can move faster on product while staying true to open source and self-hosting, and join forces on GTM and sales to accelerate revenue.
Previously backed by Y Combinator, Lightspeed, and General Catalyst.
We're a small, engineering-heavy, and experienced team in Berlin and San Francisco. We are also hiring for engineering in EU timezones and expect one week per month in our Berlin office (how we work).
Why this role exists
Langfuse has grown mostly through product-led, open-source adoption. We built a strong product, wrote useful docs and examples, stayed close to users, shipped in public, and helped developers understand how to build better AI applications.
Since being acquired by ClickHouse, with access to ClickHouse's broader GTM resources, Langfuse now has a growing enterprise motion and a large self-hosted user base.
This role exists to give Langfuse a clear, accurate narrative that is easier to understand and adopt.
How The Role Works
This role is for a product marketer who likes technical depth. A technical background is a strong plus, but if you don't have one, curiosity and a drive to go deep will take you just as far.
You'll become a true power user of Langfuse, and gain a front-row seat into how the best AI teams build production applications.
You should expect close working relationships with both Langfuse teams and ClickHouse’s product marketing, sales and regional GTM teams.
What we're looking for
Substantial experience in product marketing, product, or a technical role, including time spent on industry or vertical marketing.
Past track record of crafting compelling messaging, positioning, and value propositions that resonate with developers, technical buyers, AI teams, enterprise stakeholders, and other highly technical audiences.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex
concepts clearly and concisely.
Analytical mindset with the capacity to leverage data and metrics to measure performance in open-source PLG funnels and inform decision-making.
Cross-functional collaborator comfortable working with stakeholders across functions and levels.
A strong plus if you have a background in dev tools, open source, observability, or data/cloud infra; and/or if you have an existing public content or writing presence.
What you'll do
Build messaging, positioning, and value props that work for developers, technical buyers, and enterprise stakeholders alike
Own the category narrative (LLM observability, evals, prompt management, agent observability, self-hosting)
Create sales enablement and marketing collateral and assets, including website content, blogs, webinars and presentations, launch narratives, and more
Conduct competitive analysis to understand market trends, identify opportunities, and inform product and marketing strategies
Evaluate and iterate on strategies with metrics and feedback from stakeholders to track efficacy, identify areas for improvement, and make data-driven recommendations
Lead product and feature launches, and spend time with users, customers, prospects, sales, support, and community members.
Process
We can run the full process to your offer letter in less than 7 days (hiring process).
Tech Stack
We run a TypeScript monorepo: Next.js on the frontend, Express workers for background jobs, PostgreSQL for transactional data, ClickHouse for tracing at scale, S3 for file storage, and Redis for queues and caching. You should be familiar with a good chunk of this, but we trust you'll pick up the rest quickly (Stack, Architecture).
How we ship
Link to handbook
We trust you to take ownership (ownership overview) for your area. You identify what to build, propose solutions (RFCs), and ship them. Everyone here thinks about the user experience and the technical implementation at the same time. Everyone manages their own Linear.
You're never alone. Anyone from the team is happy to go into a whiteboard session with you. 15 minutes of shared discussion can very much improve the overall output.
We implement maker schedule and communication. There are two recurring meetings a week: Monday check-in on priorities (15 min) and a demo session on Fridays (60 min).
Code reviews are mentorship. New joiners get all PRs reviewed to learn the codebase, patterns, and how the systems work (onboarding guide).
We use AI as much as possible in our workflows to make our users happy. We encourage everyone to experiment with new tooling and AI workflows.
Why Langfuse (now part of ClickHouse)
This role puts you at the forefront of the AI revolution, partnering with engineering teams who are building the technology that will define the next decade(s).
This is an open-source devtools company. We ship daily, talk to customers constantly, and fight for great DX. Reliability and performance are central requirements.
Your work ships under your name. You'll appear on changelog posts for the features you build, and during launch weeks, you'll produce videos to announce what you've shipped to the community. You’ll own the full delivery end to end.
We're solving hard engineering problems: figuring out which features actually help users improve AI product performance, building SDKs developers love, visualizing data-rich traces, rendering massive LLM prompts and completions efficiently in the UI, and processing terabytes of data per day through our ingestion pipeline.
You'll work closely with the ClickHouse team and learn how they build a world-class infrastructure company. We're in a period of strong growth: Langfuse is growing organically and accelerating through ClickHouse's GTM. (Why we joined ClickHouse)
If you wonder what to build next, our users are a Slack message or a Github discussions post away.
You’re on a continuous learning journey. The AI space develops at breakneck speed and our customers are at the forefront. We need to be ready to meet them where they are and deliver the tools they need just-in-time.

Why Cloud Infrastructure at Langfuse
Your work will keep Langfuse running — everywhere.
Langfuse processes over a billion trace events per month. When a Fortune 50 company relies on Langfuse in production, they're relying on the infrastructure you operate. You'll own uptime, performance, and cost efficiency across our entire cloud footprint — and you'll make sure every self-hosted deployment runs just as smoothly.
You'll operate Langfuse Cloud on AWS ECS Fargate and ClickHouse Cloud, with Datadog as the observability backbone. You'll also own our public self-hosted infrastructure — including our Helm chart, Docker Compose setup, and everything in between — so that teams from startups to enterprises can run Langfuse on their own terms.
This isn't a "maintain what exists" role. We're scaling fast, and you'll be the person who makes sure the infrastructure grows ahead of demand — not behind it.
Langfuse is now part of ClickHouse, which means the team behind the database at the core of our stack is one channel away. Few infrastructure roles give you that kind of direct access to the people who build your most critical dependency.
You will grow at Langfuse by
Own Langfuse Cloud operations: You'll run our production environments on AWS ECS Fargate and ClickHouse Cloud. You'll manage deployments, autoscaling, capacity planning, and cost optimization — making sure we stay fast and affordable as traffic scales.
Build world-class observability: You'll own our Datadog setup end to end — dashboards, alerts, and SLOs. When something degrades, you'll ensure we know before our customers do. You'll build the monitoring culture that lets the whole team ship with confidence.
Make self-hosting effortless: Thousands of teams run Langfuse on their own infrastructure. You'll own and evolve our Helm chart, Docker Compose configuration, and deployment documentation. You'll turn "works on my machine" into "works on every machine" — from a single-node setup to a multi-region enterprise deployment.
Automate everything: CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code, automated scaling, zero-downtime deployments. You'll replace manual processes with automation that makes the team faster and the platform more reliable.
Scale for what's next: We're growing fast and new product directions — like complex long-running agent observability and real-time evaluation — push the infrastructure in new ways. You'll be thinking ahead about what breaks at 10x scale and building the foundation before we get there. 10x is always just one quarter away here at Langfuse.
Harden security and compliance: As more enterprises adopt Langfuse, you'll help ensure our cloud and self-hosted deployments meet the security and compliance bar that large organizations require.
What we're looking for
Strong infrastructure or SRE engineer who gets excited about running systems at scale and making them better every day
Experience operating production workloads on AWS (ECS/Fargate, networking, IAM, S3, etc.) or on comparable hyperscale vendors.
Experience with infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, Pulumi, CloudFormation, or similar)
Strong monitoring and observability instincts — you've built dashboards and alerts that actually caught problems (Datadog experience is a plus)
You organize yourself. You have strong opinions about reliability, automation, and how to ship infrastructure changes safely
Interest in open source software and genuine enjoyment helping users debug their self-hosted deployments
Thrives in a small, accountable team where your output is visible and matters
CS or quantitative degree preferred
Bonus points:
Experience with ClickHouse Cloud or other managed analytical databases
Background in operating high-throughput event processing or observability infrastructure
Contributions to open source infrastructure tooling (Helm charts, Terraform modules, etc.)
Former founder

We're a small, engineering-heavy, and experienced team in Berlin and San Francisco. We are also hiring for engineering in EU timezones and expect one week per month in our Berlin office (how we work).
Location and travel
You can be based in Europe (with a one week onsite in Berlin per month) or the United States (preferably in San Francisco).
We expect significant travel across the US and Europe, with occasional travel to other regions when the audience quality justifies it. The exact cadence will change with the event calendar, but you should expect travel to be a meaningful part of the job.
Why this role?
Langfuse has grown mostly through product-led, open-source adoption. We built a strong product, wrote useful docs and examples, stayed close to users, shipped in public, and helped developers understand how to build better AI applications.
However, many of the highest-signal moments happen in person: hallway conversations, workshops, meetups, dinners, conference demos, and technical talks.
We want someone who can own that motion end to end; put Langfuse in the right AI engineering rooms, make the product clear to technical audiences, and turn in-person conversations into durable marketing momentum.
The goal is not to do every event. The goal is to make the right events excellent, scalable, and measurable.
What you'll do
Represent Langfuse at conferences, meetups, workshops, customer events, partner events, and community gatherings across Europe and the US.
Run live demos and technical sessions on tracing, evals, prompt management, datasets, metrics, and related LLM engineering workflows.
Build and maintain field-ready material: demo flows, workshop runbooks, talk abstracts, event landing pages, follow-up emails, signup flows, and conference-in-a-box assets.
Organize Langfuse-hosted meetups, workshops, dinners, and smaller technical gatherings around the highest-quality audiences.
Partner with ClickHouse field marketing, sales, solutions, product marketing, and engineering teams where it helps Langfuse show up well.
Turn event learnings into useful artifacts: better messaging, better demos, better docs, better talks, better customer stories, and sharper product feedback.
What we're looking for
You have worked in DevRel, product marketing engineering, solutions engineering, field engineering, developer advocacy, or technical community roles.
You have spoken at developer conferences, meetups, workshops, webinars, or technical customer events.
You already create technical content, demos, videos, talks, open source projects, or educational material.
You should be excited to travel, give talks, run demos, host events, talk to developers and technical leaders, and bring what you learn back into the company.
You care about developer experience, open source, AI engineering, and the quality of the rooms you spend time in.
You are comfortable with ambiguity and can independently decide what to do before there is a mature playbook.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex concepts clearly and concisely.
A strong plus:
You are a former engineer, or deeply technical operator who can credibly explain software to experienced developers.
You can write code well enough to build, debug, and maintain demos or workshop material.
You are deep in AI engineering, LLM observability, evals, agents, or developer tools.
You have original opinions that experienced developers value.

Why SDK Engineering at Langfuse
Your work will have an outsized impact.
Our SDKs are downloaded 26M+ times per month. When you ship a new integration or improve SDK performance, thousands of developers benefit the same day — and they'll tell you about it in GitHub issues, on Twitter, and in our community channels. Everything you build is open source (MIT-licensed) and immediately visible.
The SDK is often the very first thing a developer touches when they try Langfuse, so your work directly shapes their first impression.
You will also have direct exposure to how cutting-edge LLM-applications are built. The users you serve are some of the best and most ambitious software engineers in the world and that leverage Langfuse to improve their applications. Deeply understanding the problems they solve will help you design the best possible SDK experience and along the way makes you an expert on LLM engineering yourself.
You will grow at Langfuse by
Owning our SDKs. We maintain SDKs in Python and TypeScript both built on OpenTelemetry. You'll be responsible for their reliability, performance, and developer experience. These SDKs run inside our users' production systems, which means they must never fail, must have minimal impact on CPU and memory, and must work flawlessly across every environment — from serverless functions to long-running agent loops. You'll think deeply about the exposed interfaces, error handling, batching, async flushing, and graceful degradation.
Designing APIs that developers love. How are functions named, how are parameters structured, how are breaking changes communicated, how does the documentation read? Developer experience is a core differentiator for Langfuse and you'll own every detail of it. When we shipped the Python SDK v3 and TypeScript SDK v4, both were full rewrites on OpenTelemetry — that's the kind of thoughtful, high-impact SDK work you'll lead. Apart from tracing, we also support core workflows of engineers building with LLMs with our SDKs, see our Experiment Runner SDK for example.
Integrating with every major AI framework: Langfuse integrates with 40+ frameworks and model providers: OpenAI SDK, Vercel AI SDK, AI SDK, LangChain, LlamaIndex, Pydantic AI, OpenAI Agents, CrewAI, Amazon Bedrock AgentCore, LiveKit, and many more. You'll maintain these integrations, ensure new Langfuse features are supported across all of them, and add new integrations as the ecosystem evolves. When a new framework gains traction, you'll be among the first to instrument it.
Maintaining our OpenTelemetry endpoint: some users send traces directly to our OTLP endpoint instead of using our SDKs. You'll ensure this path is robust, well-documented, and supports the full range of Langfuse features. This also extends our language support to Java, Go, and any language with an OpenTelemetry SDK. You can work with the OpenTelemetry community to steer the GenAI conventions.
Writing public documentation: you'll own the SDK docs, integration guides, and migration paths. At Langfuse, docs are part of our core product. When you ship a new SDK version or integration, the docs ship with it.
What we're looking for
Strong engineer who gets excited about developer experience, API design, and writing code that runs reliably in other people's production systems
Experience building or maintaining SDKs, client libraries, or developer tools — ideally in Python and/or TypeScript
Deep understanding of performance: you know how to profile, benchmark, and minimize CPU/memory overhead in hot paths
Someone who can manage projects themselves — you know how to develop strong conviction about what to build and how to ship it
Thoughtful about versioning, backwards compatibility, and migration paths
Interest in open source software and genuine excitement about talking to developers about their integration challenges
Thrives in a small, accountable team where your output is visible and matters
CS or quantitative degree preferred
Bonus points:
Experience with OpenTelemetry internals or observability instrumentation
Former founder or early startup experience
Contributions to popular open source SDKs or developer tools
ML/AI background or familiarity with the LLM framework ecosystem
No candidate checks all boxes. If you feel you are a good fit for this role, please go ahead and apply.

Why Product Engineering at Langfuse
Your work will have an outsized impact.
Everything you build is open source (MIT-licensed) and immediately visible. Langfuse has 21,900+ GitHub stars and our SDKs are downloaded 23M+ times per month. When you ship a new feature the community notices in GitHub issues, on X, and in our community channels.
Product engineers at Langfuse are the people who deliver new features end-to-end to our users. You own the product thinking from understanding the user problem to deciding what to build to shipping the solution.
You will also have direct exposure to how cutting-edge LLM applications are built. The users you serve are some of the best and most ambitious software engineers leveraging Langfuse to improve their applications. Deeply understanding the problems they solve will help you design the best possible product and along the way makes you an expert on LLM engineering yourself.
You will grow at Langfuse by
Own features end-to-end: from talking to users, to writing the spec, to shipping the code and docs, to writing the changelog post with your name on it. To give you a sense: recent features a single engineer owned include the Langfuse for Agents release (new trace views, agent graphs, semantic span labels), the TypeScript SDK v4 rewrite on OpenTelemetry, and the hosted MCP server for prompt management.
Work across the full stack: and we mean full. Our surface area is wide: React frontend, Next.js backend, ClickHouse analytics, Python and TypeScript SDKs, public docs, Terraform modules, and more. You'll touch whatever the feature needs. One week you might be writing a new ClickHouse query for cost analytics, the next you're designing an SDK API, the next you're building a new React view for agent traces.
Talk to users constantly: jump on calls, respond in community channels, and route support requests. At Langfuse, support is how we build conviction about what to build next. Our handbook says it best: support by engineers is a core value proposition.
Write public documentation about the features you own. At Langfuse, docs are product.
Ship publicly during Launch Weeks: we've run four Launch Weeks so far, dropping a new feature every day for a week. Engineers present the features they built to the community.
What we’re looking for
Someone who has built features or even entire products from scratch end-to-end
Experience building and shipping user-facing products end-to-end, ideally in TypeScript/React and with exposure to data-intensive backends
Someone who can manage projects themselves. You know how to develop strong conviction about what to build and how to ship it.
Taste for great developer experience: you care about API design, UI details, and clear documentation
Interest in open source software and genuine excitement about talking to developers about their problems
Thrives in a small, accountable team where your output is visible and matters
CS or quantitative degree preferred
Bonus points:
Experience with ClickHouse, analytics databases, or building complex data visualizations
Former founder or early startup experience
Contributions to popular open source projects
ML/AI background or familiarity with the LLM framework ecosystem

In Short: We're looking for a backend/platform engineer to own and scale the infrastructure behind the most widely adopted open source LLM engineering platform — processing terabytes of AI tracing data per day for thousands of AI teams, including 19 of the Fortune 50.
Why Backend Engineering at Langfuse
Your work will have an outsized impact.
Langfuse ingests terabytes of AI tracing data per day. When a Fortune 50 company instruments their application with Langfuse, they hit the infrastructure you built. Everything you ship is open source and immediately visible.
The core of your role is making Langfuse fast and affordable at scale: owning the ingestion pipeline, optimizing ClickHouse data models and queries so dashboards load instantly, and building the backend abstractions that let product engineers ship data-heavy features without reinventing the plumbing each time.
You will also make sure Langfuse runs everywhere. You’ll operate Langfuse Cloud across multiple production environments, and make self-hosting effortless. You will support a single Docker Compose setup to enterprise-grade Helm chart deployment.
You won’t be solving these problems alone. Langfuse is now part of ClickHouse, which means the people who built the database you’re optimizing are one channel away. Few backend roles give you that kind of access to the internals of your core datastore.
You will grow at Langfuse by
Own and optimize our ingestion pipeline: Langfuse ingests massive volumes of tracing data through a pipeline that flows from our API to ClickHouse. You'll work on throughput, latency, reliability, and cost efficiency at every stage of this pipeline.
Make ClickHouse fast: our tracing data lives in ClickHouse. You'll design schemas, optimize merge strategies, tune batch inserts, write and review analytical queries that power dashboards and the UI. You'll become an expert on ClickHouse internals — and you'll have the ClickHouse database engineering team one channel away.
Build new infrastructure-heavy features: things like LLM-as-a-Judge (where we post-process large volumes of ingested data asynchronously), alerting at scale, client-code execution, or batch dataset operations. Build the foundation and, if you like, dip your toes into the frontend for those.
Test with real data in production: when evaluating a new ClickHouse schema, migration, or query optimization, you'll run load tests against production data to validate that changes actually improve things. We don't guess at performance. We prototype new table designs, run them in parallel on real traffic, and compare before committing.
Scale for what's next: we're growing fast and new product directions like complex long-running agent observability and real-time evaluation push the infrastructure in new ways. You'll be thinking ahead about what breaks at 10x scale.

What we're looking for
Strong backend engineer who gets excited about database internals, query optimization, and distributed systems
You get excited when working with a ton of data
Experience with analytical databases, data pipelines, or high-throughput event processing. ClickHouse experience is a big plus but not required
You organize yourself. You have strong opinions about what to build and how to ship it
Comfortable reading and writing TypeScript (our backend) and SQL
Interest in open source software and genuine enjoyment talking to users about their scaling challenges
Thrives in a small, accountable team where your output is visible and matters
CS or quantitative degree preferred
Bonus points:
Experience with ClickHouse, other OLAP databases, or observability infrastructure
Former founder
Background in building data-intensive systems at scale
