About the Role
This is a hybrid role based out of the San Francisco Bay Area. Mixpanel is seeking a high-impact Strategic Finance Lead to serve as a domain owner within our Financial Planning and Analysis team. This role is a trusted advisor to functional leaders across the business, owning the end-to-end financial planning process for a major domain and driving the analytical rigor that shapes leadership decisions. A successful candidate will bring deep FP&A expertise, strong business partnership instincts, and the ability to design scalable planning processes—not just execute within them.
About the Team
The FP&A team enables Mixpanel's ongoing financial success. Doing so means creating visibility into our financial outcomes by running and improving tight financial reporting processes with all members of executive leadership. It means using these processes coupled with analytical prowess and strong communication skills to deliver keen insights upon which strategic decisions will be made. It means identifying key trends to support these decisions with constantly improving financial models. Through this, the FP&A team guides the company through financial hurdles, fuels growth opportunities, and ultimately drives long-term success.
Responsibilities
Own the end-to-end financial planning process for a major domain GTM — from brief to delivery — setting quality standards and accountability mechanisms that others follow.
Define the 6–12 month financial strategy for your domain, validating assumptions with business partners and translating strategy into financial outcomes and leading indicators.
Build business cases for major investments with clear assumptions, risk quantification, and second-order effects — giving leadership the analytical foundation to make high-confidence decisions.
Design and improve planning processes, tooling, and data definitions that reduce rework across teams and raise the quality of financial outputs org-wide.
Lead cross-functional analyses with clear milestones and owners, resolving forecast disagreements with principled rationale and crisp financial narratives tailored to each audience.
Partner with functional budget owners to ensure data quality, metric consistency, and alignment on assumptions — acting as a cultural anchor for data-driven decision-making.
We're Looking For Someone Who Has
5–8 years of FP&A or Strategic Finance experience, ideally in high-growth SaaS; demonstrated ownership of a planning domain end-to-end
Proven ability to design planning processes and frameworks — not just operate within them — and to influence decisions across teams without direct authority
Expert-level financial modeling skills; fluent in SaaS unit economics, driver-based forecasting, 3-statement modeling, and scenario/sensitivity analysis
Deep expertise across GTM; experience partnering with senior functional leaders on budget strategy and investment decisions
Strong SQL skills and experience working with BI tools, FP&A platforms, and ERP systems; comfortable specifying data needs and improving data quality upstream
Excellent communication skills — can distill complex financial analysis into crisp narratives tailored to exec audiences
BS/BA in Economics, Finance, Accounting, or related field; MBA or CFA a plus

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.

About Mixpanel
Mixpanel is the leading product intelligence and analytics platform, trusted by more than 29,000 companies to help understand how people use the products they build. By combining powerful analytics with AI that knows your business, Mixpanel helps teams see what’s working, diagnose what’s not, and decide what to build next. Learn more at mixpanel.com.
About the role
At Mixpanel, we believe design excellence is a competitive moat. In a world where AI makes it easier than ever to ship, we believe the quality of the experience — how it feels, how it builds trust, how it handles complexity with grace — that separates good products from great ones.
As a Staff Design Engineer at Mixpanel, you'll sit within the design organization and lead the transformation of our design system from a component library into something far more important: the infrastructure that powers how we design, build, and ship in an AI-native world. You'll encode our craft, standards, and vision directly into the systems, tools, and workflows that every designer, engineer, and AI agent in our org builds on.
This isn't a maintenance or systems stewardship role. It's a transformative one. You'll work at the frontier of what design and engineering collaboration looks like when AI writes most of the code, agents prototype from intent, and the design system is less a library and more a living foundation for everything we ship.
You'll be the designer who ships production code. The engineer who holds an uncompromising craft bar. The person who sees the future of how Mixpanel will look and behave in an AI-native world, and builds the infrastructure to make it real.
What you'll do
Build the infrastructure for an AI-native design practice
Translate Mixpanel's design standards, principles, and taste into systems that live in the code. Build a token system, component library, documentation, and guidelines that AI agents, AI coding tools, and AI prototyping workflows can reliably build on. Evolve our design system to be foundational infrastructure for AI-assisted workflows.
Shape how Mixpanel looks and behaves in an AI-native world
Sit within the product design team and collaborate on reimagining Mixpanel for a world where interfaces are conversational, agentic, and adaptive. You have the rare combination of deep design sensibility and production engineering skills, and you’ll use both to help bring our AI product vision to life with craft and coherence that generic AI outputs can't match.
Own the bridge between design and code
Build systems that connect design to code and keep the two in sync. Define what "shippable" looks like as AI writes more of the code. Work directly in the codebase. Ship PRs that improve the product. Make design a force multiplier for engineering, not a bottleneck.
Stand up prototyping and AI tooling infrastructure
Build the workflows, tools, and infrastructure that let designers and PMs prototype at high fidelity, with working code, real components, and interactive states, without waiting on engineering. Identify the places where design and engineering lose time, intent, or quality in the handoff, and build AI-powered workflows that close those gaps.
Set and model the craft bar
Establish what great looks like — not through documentation alone, but through the quality of what you ship. Enable designers to work more code-adjacent and engineers to build with better components. Stay ahead of how AI is changing EPD workflows and bring that change into the org responsibly.
What success looks like
The design system is a reliable foundation that AI tools and agents build on, not an obstacle they work around
Design and code are in sync; the gap between what's designed and what ships is closed
Designers can prototype at high fidelity without waiting on engineering
Engineers spend less time on UI polish and rework, more time on features
The Mixpanel product feels unmistakably itself — cohesive, expressive, and craft-forward — as it evolves into an AI-native experience
The org is enabled on the latest AI-assisted design and development workflows
Qualifications
Proficiency in modern front-end frameworks: React, TypeScript, JavaScript, CSS, HTML, Next.js
Experience with design systems. Ideally you've built or overhauled one at scale
Strong design sensibility: you care about craft, consistency, interaction quality, and taste
Fluency in AI-assisted workflows: canvas-to-code, code-to-canvas, AI prototyping tools, MCP integrations, and what's emerging in this space
Experience working with tools like Figma, Storybook, VSCode, Chromatic, and GitHub
A track record of working across design and engineering: you've done both, and you know how to collaborate across both
Comfortable operating with high autonomy: you set direction, influence standards, and manage complex projects without a lot of hand-holding
8+ years in design engineering, UX engineering, design technology, or a related hybrid role
Bonus points
Experience designing or building data visualizations
Background in brand and/or product design
Experience with accessibility: WCAG 2.2, ARIA patterns, semantic HTML, APCA, accessible data viz
Experience working in a product analytics or developer-focused product environment

OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 07/31/2029
Why are you being asked to complete this form?
We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

About the DevInfra Team
The DevInfra team is Mixpanel’s platform engineering team. Our mission is to be a force multiplier for Mixpanel engineering as a whole. We achieve this by partnering with our engineering teams to build a world-class software development life cycle together.
About the Role
We are looking for an engineer with a strong track record of solving tooling pain points, automating away toil, and helping teams deliver software faster, more safely, and more reliably. Someone who is energized by supporting their fellow engineers. An engineer who has good taste and leverages AI to great effect without generating slop. Frequent forays into uncharted territory requires our team to be highly adaptable and always ready to learn. We serve as trailblazers for the rest of Mixpanel engineering.
Responsibilities
We partner with a wide variety of teams to build out their software development lifecycle to be optimized for speed, safety, and reliability. We support teams writing front-end UI code as well as teams maintaining our highly stateful storage systems deep in our stack.
We are responsible for deploying AI tools like Claude Code to our entire engineering team. We are building agents into our platform to do things like augment on-call response and automatically one-shot bugs that come through a team’s triage queue.
We support systems that ingest more than 1 Trillion user-generated events every month while balancing low end-to-end query latency. Mixpanel queries typically scan more than 1 Quadrillion events over the span of a month. More details in this blog post.
Mixpanel runs entirely on Google Cloud Platform and Google Kubernetes Engine. DevInfra is the overall admin for our cloud environment, so we wear many hats. We are responsible for things like Terraform, cost management, networking, and security best practices.
We are the overall service owner for Kubernetes. Individual teams are responsible for maintaining and monitoring their own clusters and workloads. We are responsible for setting standards for deployment, observability, and developer experience. We facilitate efforts like Kubernetes version upgrades and helping teams adopt new Google Kubernetes Engine features.
Service ownership of our observability pipelines. We have instrumented over 30 million Prometheus metrics time series and use Open Telemetry to ingest over 4 billion distributed tracing spans per month. An example: How We Migrated from StatsD to Prometheus in One Month.
We maintain our GitHub Actions based CI/CD pipelines. We maintain a robust GitHub-native delivery process that empowers teams to self-serve their needs while ensuring safety and reliability. See this blog post for an example.
We maintain our devbox system that provisions cloud development environments for individual developers.
We procure best in breed SaaS tooling for the rest of engineering. We own our relationship with GitHub, Honeycomb, Chronosphere, Sentry, and more.
We run the new engineer onboarding process. If you join us, your first meeting will probably be with us!
We're Looking For Someone Who Has
3+ years of industry experience.
Experience with at least one of: Go, Python, or JavaScript/TypeScript.
Production experience working with Kubernetes.
Production experience managing infrastructure in a major cloud provider such as Google Cloud Platform, Amazon Web Services, or Azure. Preferably Google Cloud Platform.
Knowledgeable about coding agents like Claude Code
Bonus Points
Experience with observability solutions like OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, or Distributed Tracing for application monitoring and performance analysis.
Experience with service mesh.
You write excellent docs.
Proficient with GitHub Actions and the GitHub ecosystem.
Experience building deployment pipelines. We love GitOps!
Bazel expertise.
Experience with Terraform.
Experience with cloud Identity and Access Management (IAM) systems and knowledgeable about security best practices.
Experience implementing Internal Developer Platforms like Backstage.
Working knowledge of site reliability engineering (SRE) principles such as implementing Service Level Objectives (SLOs).
You ❤️ open source.

About the Team
The Strategic Alliances team is small, fast, and outcome-oriented - not a program or account mapping factory. We spearhead the identification, investigation, development and execution of initiatives & partnerships aimed at moving the needle for some of Mixpanel’s most strategic levers. As Mixpanel continues its evolution, this team is at the forefront of defining our new ecosystem realities and opportunities, particularly within the emerging spaces in, and enabled by, AI. LLM’s, Vibecoders and MCP Servers and their adjacencies are our workspace.
About the Role
You'll own a portfolio of partner opportunities and sourcing of structural deals — embedded distribution, revenue share, API embedding, committed co-sell — with the companies defining how AI-native software gets built and distributed (think Snowflake, Stripe, Anthropic, Google, Glean and Replit) and target new relationships, owning first conversation through execution. You’ll also provide due diligence support for in-flight opportunities. You need to be comfortable with ambiguity and have the ability to translate company priorities into a set of actionable and achievable partnerships. You will work closely with stakeholders and senior leadership across Product & Engineering, Marketing, Channel and Sales teams to ensure tight alignment and smooth execution - to be successful, you will need a track record of this collaboration with quantifiable outcomes.
Responsibilities
End-to-end ownership of a set of strategic partnerships with LLMs, Hyperscalers, AI developer tools, data platforms and niche providers who can fill product gaps.
Market analysis and due diligence, with emphasis on quantitative support for new partnerships and market entries.
Deal structuring and negotiation: term sheets, rev share, data licensing, API embedding, pipeline and revenue commitments
Expand and elevate Mixpanel exposure within our newest strategic partners; driving alignment up to, and including, C-level relationships
Work closely with Channel & Enablement teams seamless handoffs, as needed, around GTM execution: co-sell motions, joint pipeline, co-marketing in service of revenue or branding
Inbound partner management — screen fast, route correctly, don't let it become a distraction
Own the room with cross-functional stakeholders including Product, Engineering, Sales, and Legal to close and activate partnerships
Design and execute unique playbooks with partners with aligned, committed outcomes; not a rinse and repeat of collateral creation, account mapping and team socialization
Collaborate with marketing & demand gen teams to launch partnerships and campaigns designed to spread awareness and drive pipeline
Define and evangelize the value proposition with partners; what are we doing together, why and who should care; Product Marketing is there for support, but this is yours to own.
We’re Looking for Someone with
8+ years of professional experience with minimum of 5+ in strategic technology partnerships, alliances, or corp dev; ideally at a hyperscaler, high-growth SaaS, or with a consulting/banking background before going operator
Track record of having closed deals with real structure: you've negotiated terms, not just managed relationships
Fluency in the modern data stack (Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery, Supabase) and the AI developer ecosystem (LLM platforms, agentics frameworks, vibe-coding tools, MCP Servers)
Technically fluent enough to hold a credible conversation with a CPO or platform team; commercial enough to close; your job is not to set meetings
Innate sense of urgency and prioritization; fast qualification, clear POV, no committee thinking
Exceptional communication skills; creates executive-level deliverables that are outcome-first, data-backed, decision-ready
Hands-on experience with AI; you’ve moved beyond chat interfaces and built something, shipped something, or broken something trying. You understand what developers actually experience when they evaluate a platform, and you can hold a credible technical conversation because of it, not despite your role.
Ability to operate and create structure within ambiguity; our scope of impact is broad and strategic - you need to be able to translate company goals into executable initiatives and be able to clearly articulate that connection; you won’t have a quota and systems to execute against
Exceptional cross-functional leadership and the ability to command the room and drive alignment across Product, Engineering, Sales/GTM, Legal, and Channel organizations.
Strong executive presence, negotiation capability, and comfort operating in fast-moving, ambiguous environments.
Bonus Points For
MBA or other advanced business degree, JD or engineering degree.
Previous experience in management or strategy consulting.
Experience partnering with Snowflake, Databricks or GCP, Anthropic and others across the AI space.
Hands-on experience with Mixpanel; able to connect the dots on partner opportunities
Sold or partnered in a product-led growth context
Built or shipped an integration — you know what it actually takes

Must be located in: San Francisco Bay Area or New York City
Own the end-to-end financial planning process for a major domain (GTM, R&D, or G&A) — from brief to delivery — setting quality standards and accountability mechanisms that others follow.
Deep expertise across multiple planning domains (GTM, R&D, G&A); experience partnering with senior functional leaders on budget strategy and investment decisions
