VP, Marketing
About Pavilion
Pavilion began as a bold experiment to solve a personal problem. In the early 2010s, founder Sam Jacobs realized that the higher he climbed in go-to-market leadership, the lonelier the journey became. Those peer conversations – equal parts therapy, strategy, and camaraderie – sparked a global community of GTM professionals united by shared learning and support.
Today, Pavilion serves nearly 10,000 members worldwide with industry-leading retention and profitability. At over $10M ARR, the brand is synonymous with excellence in GTM leadership.
The Opportunity
We're seeking a Vice President of Marketing to lead Pavilion's next era of growth—defining how we attract, engage, and retain members across their full journey.
This is a high-impact leadership role for a strategist with expertise in today’s growth marketing tactics, who blends creativity with discipline and understands that long-term growth depends on both attraction and retention. Demand generation expertise is central to this role: you should be someone who has personally built and run acquisition programs, not just directed them through partners. You should also be fluent in building AI-driven tools and workflows — able to speak concretely about agents or automations you've built and the measurable impact they had on a marketing team's output.
This role sits on Pavilion's Executive Leadership Team, which meets regularly in Boston and NYC. Candidates located in the Boston or New York City area are strongly preferred.
Core Responsibilities
Growth Oversight (≈30%)
- Bring demand generation expertise directly to the table: paid, SEO, and event acquisition programs, whether run in-house or supported by agencies.
- Manage external agencies running paid, SEO, and event campaigns, with the credibility to evaluate and challenge their strategy rather than simply relay it.
- Maintain ROI discipline and brand alignment across acquisition programs.
- Test and evaluate new channels to reach GTM professionals globally.
AI-Driven Enablement
- Build and deploy AI agents and automated workflows that support marketing functions — for example, content production, segmentation, campaign reporting, and/or lead scoring.
- Bring specific, namable examples of AI tools or agents you've built in past roles, along with the business impact they had (time saved, output increased, cost reduced, etc.).
- Stay ahead of emerging AI technologies and embed them into team workflows.
Member Lifecycle Marketing
- Create programs that drive activation, engagement, and renewal.
- Partner with Sales & Success on onboarding, nurture, and milestone communications.
- Develop referral and win-back campaigns that turn satisfied members into advocates.
Brand & Communications
- Lead Pavilion's brand presence across web, social, events, and content.
- Oversee thought leadership, PR, and storytelling that elevate Pavilion's reputation and member value.
- Collaborate with Education and Community teams to highlight member success and insights.
Strategy & Leadership
- Build an integrated marketing plan that balances brand storytelling, lifecycle engagement, and scalable growth.
- Translate Pavilion's mission into clear messaging across every touchpoint—from awareness through renewal.
- Partner with leadership to evolve brand architecture and positioning.
- Define and measure success across acquisition, retention, and member satisfaction.
- Lead a small, high-performing team (3–4 people).
- Foster collaboration, accountability, and creative excellence.
- Establish key marketing KPIs, dashboards, and optimization frameworks.
Required Skills & Experience
- 8+ years in marketing, including 3–5 in leadership within membership, community, or subscription models.
- Demonstrated demand generation expertise — direct, hands-on experience building and running paid, SEO, or other acquisition programs, not solely managing agencies.
- Proven success in integrated brand and lifecycle marketing.
- Experience managing agencies or contractors for acquisition programs.
- Hands-on experience building AI agents or AI-driven workflows for marketing use cases, with the ability to name specific tools or systems built and describe their measurable impact.
- Strong content and communications background; comfort with analytics and budgets.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
- Preferred: Experience in B2B SaaS or professional development; understanding of retention tactics, event marketing, and community storytelling.

- Audit demand generation and lifecycle performance.
- Identify quick wins for engagement and retention.
- Recommend and begin building AI tools/agents and process improvements.

About the role
Pavilion’s team is full of entrepreneurial people with a bias toward action, strong intellectual curiosity, and a desire to serve and solve for our members.
As we grow, we are looking for a US-based Enrollment Manager to be the point person in assisting Pavilion HQ and our city chairs (Chapter Heads) with growing our membership base by converting high-intent inbound leads and leveraging outbound channels to prospect good-fit potential members.
The Enrollment Manager is often the first experience prospective members will have with Pavilion and will serve as both the touchpoint, and a powerful voice on behalf of Members back to the organization. Your goal is to ensure their first experience is one that will set them up to be a career-long member. You’ll be on the frontlines for supporting the company’s growth across the US and Canada.
As might be expected for a fledgling small business, the role is diverse, multi-functional and requires all the things: creativity, communication skills (verbal and written), attention to detail, proactivity, project management, curiosity, self-determination, and professionalism.
Your day-to-day
- Oversee, manage, and convert a pipeline of prospective Pavilion members. At any given time, there may be up to 100 prospective members in your pipeline.
- Follow up with inbound leads to book meetings
- Connect potential members with local chapter heads and members with similar backgrounds to drive conversion and set them up for success.
- Follow up with prospective members after initial conversations via phone, email, and LinkedIn.
- Identify and prospect leads that fit Pavilion’s member ICP, with the goal of converting them into members
- Work closely with local Chapter Heads on growth initiatives
- Ensure prospective members fit with company values and requirements
- Reply to prospective members on email and LinkedIn with speed, efficiency, and respect
- Provide feedback on trends and insights relevant to day to day performance of the role.
- Develop new concepts and initiatives to improve member acquisition, and documenting critical processes for repeatability
- Participate in community events, trainings, and company wide initiatives while dedicating yourself to your professional development
- Maintain accurate and timely records of all interactions in our CRM (HubSpot)
- Own - and achieve - a monthly quota for new member acquisition
What you’ll bring
- Must be a people person and have the ability to communicate warmly and purposefully with a variety of people from across all walks of life and roles, from Individual Contributor to CEO.
- Personable, empathetic, yet firm approach to selling by phone, text, video calls on Zoom, and LinkedIn DMs.
- Proficient across modern web platforms like Hubspot, Apollo, Slack, Zoom, and G Suite.
- Ability to deliver results within a specific timeframe, while also being creative and resourceful
- Self-motivated and determined to turn their next role into a career not just a source of income
- Operations and process minded who likes working off a to-do list and getting things done while also looking for ways to go above and beyond
- Outstanding time and task management skills
- High attention to detail
- Excellent written and communication skills
- Fluent English speaker, but additional language fluency is a plus
- Based in the United States
Why Pavilion
- Ability to positively influence and impact the lives of our members throughout the globe by enabling professional and personal development
- Join a mission-driven organization that prioritizes the professional growth of its members above all
- Engage with some of the brightest minds in various industries and gain insights that can propel your own career forward
