Fulfillment Pharmacist - Romeoville, IL (Part-Time)
Senior IT Engineer
Senior IT Engineer
Join Tech @ Ro to build the future of healthcare, from the ground up!
At Ro, we believe that when people achieve their health goals, they can achieve their life goals. The highest-leverage way to move society forward is to give people their health, and the current healthcare system isn’t built to do that. It was built to bill, not to serve patients.
We’re building a new system. One where the patient is in control. One designed from scratch for the digital age.
At Ro, technology isn’t just a function… It's core to how we deliver care. We’ve built a vertically integrated healthcare platform that connects telehealth, diagnostics, pharmacy, and logistics into a seamless, end-to-end experience for millions of patients.
…and we’re just getting started.
As part of Tech @ Ro, you’ll work on systems that operate at scale, with an opportunity to:
- Solve complex, high-concurrency problems across a full-stack platform
- Build and ship quickly with tight feedback loops and real-world impact
- Own systems end-to-end, from architecture to production performance
- Work alongside experienced operators, technical leaders, and clinicians
- Help define how modern healthcare should be delivered
We’re a performance-driven team with a strong sense of ownership and urgency. We move fast, learn quickly, and hold a high bar for what we build, and do so with a big heart — because patients depend on it.
If you’re motivated by impact, scale, and the chance to help lead the patient revolution, come build with us.
The Role:
We are looking for a Senior IT Engineer who will play a key role ensuring a frictionless, secure experience for our team members as we collectively work to bring an amazing healthcare experience to our patients. This role reports directly to the Senior IT Engineering Manager and works closely with other internal technology teams.
This is a non-managerial, hands-on individual contributor role where you'll build, operate, and maintain Ro's internal systems and endpoints. You'll work closely with the team to manage and mature a multi-platform environment - macOS, Windows, ChromeOS and VDI - creating code, automations and integrations to keep it running securely at scale. We run a modern agentic tooling stack internally (Claude Code, MCP-based integrations) and build automation to give back cycles. Our environment is cloud-native by design, with no legacy directory services or on-prem dependencies to maintain - giving us the freedom to build and manage infrastructure the right way, rather than the way it's always been done.
\n-
Manage and tune endpoints across macOS, Windows, ChromeOS, and VDI platforms, ensuring optimum performance, up-to-date software and a great user experience
-
Administer enterprise browser policy, extension management, and secure defaults across the fleet
-
Build and maintain no-code/low-code automation (Tines/Okta Workflows) to streamline and proactively resolve operational tasks
-
Utilize infrastructure-as-code (IaC) to standardize provisioning and configuration management across platforms and infrastructure
-
Contribute to the development and deployment of Ro's Zero Trust strategy across device and user identity
-
Own and operate Ro's cloud-hosted VDI environment, including the underlying server infrastructure that supports it
-
Contribute to IT Engineering's GitHub repositories, building and maintaining tooling such as osquery and Santa
-
Collaborate with IT, Security, and Risk Management teams to ensure maximum protection of Ro's assets
-
Use AI coding assistants and agentic tooling to build, debug, and operate system integrations and automations while applying sound judgment about where agents fit versus deterministic automation
-
Fully own project implementation plans and schedules
-
Provide support to issues escalated to the IT Engineering team
-
Participate in on-call rotation approximately every 6 weeks
-
5+ years of IT Engineering experience, successfully designing, implementing and maintaining systems that scale
-
Excellent understanding of endpoint management capabilities (MDM, BYOD, MAM) across platforms
-
Fluency with scripting/coding and interacting with APIs via bash, Python, or low-code tools like Okta Workflows and increasingly, via AI-assisted workflows
-
Experience packaging and deploying software idempotently for seamless deployments
-
Proficiency with AI coding assistants and agentic tooling for building, debugging, and operating integrations — you direct the tooling rather than hand-writing every line
-
Experience provisioning workloads on a major cloud provider (AWS, Azure, GCP) with Terraform
-
Security instincts for granting tools and agents access to systems: least-privilege scoping, secure defaults, and a healthy skepticism about what you automate
-
Ability to move quickly, learn new technologies, and adopt new tooling as it emerges
-
Passion for building and maintaining a superior IT hygiene posture and user experience
-
Strong team player - we cross-train and level up together
-
Excellent troubleshooting skills
-
Full medical, dental, and vision insurance + OneMedical membership
-
Healthcare and Dependent Care FSA
-
401(k) with company match
-
Flexible PTO
-
Wellbeing + Learning & Growth stipends
-
Paid parental leave + Fertility benefits
-
Pet insurance
-
Student loan refinancing
-
Virtual resources for mindfulness, counseling, and fitness
We welcome qualified candidates of all races, creeds, genders, and sexuality to apply.
The target base salary for this position ranges from $128,400 to $165,000, in addition to a competitive equity and benefits package (as applicable). When determining compensation, we analyze and carefully consider several factors, including location, job-related knowledge, skills and experience. These considerations may cause your compensation to vary.
