Strategic Finance Associate
New York, NY (Hybrid)
Apply
About the Role
Behind many of life’s most important transactions — buying a house, applying for a mortgage, getting a small business loan, or refinancing a credit card — is a network of credit relationships. Setpoint is building the critical infrastructure that powers these transactions, helping the world’s leading banks, lenders, and capital providers move with greater speed, trust, and transparency.
We’re looking for a Strategic Finance Associate to join our Finance team and serve as a true business generalist. This is not a narrow FP&A role — you’ll partner directly with the VP of Finance and play a critical part in driving company-wide initiatives. From shaping financial strategy to supporting day-to-day operations, you’ll be trusted to take on whatever the business needs most at any given moment.
This is a high-impact, highly visible role where no two days look the same. You’ll build financial models, prepare board materials, support cross-functional projects, and step in as a problem-solver for the company’s most pressing priorities.
Who Will Love This Job
A self-starter: You thrive with autonomy and enjoy owning complex projects end-to-end.
A structured thinker: You can bring clarity to ambiguous problems and communicate clearly with stakeholders.
A sharp analyst: You love digging into data and building financial models that drive key decisions.
A cross-functional collaborator: You enjoy working closely with sales, operations, product, and engineering teams.
A builder: You're excited about scaling finance at a fast-growing company.
What You’ll Do
Partner cross-functionally with Sales, Operations, Product, and Engineering to ensure alignment between financial goals and day-to-day execution.
Drive financial visibility by owning reporting, forecasting, KPI setting, and board-ready communications.
Lead strategic projects that require both financial rigor and operational follow-through — from building models to coordinating implementation across teams.
Step into critical gaps in company operations: streamline processes, improve internal systems, and ensure execution on key initiatives.
Act as a force multiplier for leadership by tackling high-priority projects (strategic finance, operations, or special projects) and ensuring nothing falls through the cracks.
You Should Have
4-5 years of relevant work experience with at least 2 years in Investment banking or Management Consulting and ideally, 2 years in a high-growth startup.
Strong financial modeling skills and Excel proficiency.
Excellent presentation and communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and drive projects independently.
Experience partnering with non-finance teams and explaining financial concepts to cross-functional stakeholders.

About the role
Behind many of life’s most important transactions — buying a house, applying for a mortgage, getting a small business loan, or refinancing a credit card — is a network of credit relationships. Setpoint provides critical operational infrastructure for relationships between the world’s largest banks, credit funds and capital markets counterparties. We’re building trust in this system of credit.
At Setpoint Capital, we believe operational excellence is a core competitive advantage. Our Operations team plays a critical role across every stage of the investment lifecycle, supporting deals from close through ongoing portfolio management.
Setpoint Capital is looking for a Senior Associate to join the Operations team. Reporting to the Head of Operations, this is a senior role with significant ownership across the deal lifecycle. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-moving environment, and takes pride in building the processes that let a high-performing team scale.
Who will love this job
A doer: You have a strong bias towards action and a “get it done” mentality.
A systems thinker: You can map complex workflows end-to-end, identify where things break, and build processes that hold up at scale.
A great communicator: You possess clear written and verbal communication skills, pay close attention to detail, and build strong relationships across teams and with external counterparties.
A multi-tasker: You can manage multiple deals and operational workflows simultaneously and execute them reliably under tight deadlines.
A problem-solver: You get to expert status quickly in new areas, understand what matters most, and drive issues to resolution.
A process driver: You can pick up complex systems — legal structures, leverage facilities, custody workflows — and design repeatable, scalable solutions.
What you’ll do
Lead pre-close operational diligence for new facilities, including KYC/OFAC, insurance, custody and servicing structure setup, data tape configuration, and cash controls.
Manage post-close operations across the portfolio, including custody oversight, daily funding request review and approvals, and facility monitoring.
Determine the timing and sizing of leverage draws and paydowns across facilities; prepare borrowing bases and manage lender submissions in coordination with Debt Capital Markets.
Run lien search and BPO refresh processes across the portfolio.
Support enforcement actions and special situations, including servicer transitions and collateral control measures.
Partner cross-functionally with Investments, Legal, Finance, and Debt Capital Markets on deal execution, renewals, amendments, and lender reporting requirements.
Ensure portfolio and collateral data is accurately captured in internal systems, partnering with the analytics team to maintain reporting integrity.
Coordinate technology onboarding for new facilities and contribute to process and product improvements with the Setpoint Technology team.
Leverage AI tools to automate and improve operational workflows, reduce risk, and enhance team efficiency.
Identify operational risks and inefficiencies; drive improvements that support scalability as the portfolio grows.
You should have
4–6 years of experience in operations, structured finance, credit, or asset management; experience in real estate finance or specialty lending strongly preferred.
Familiarity with credit facility mechanics: borrowing bases, advance rates, eligibility criteria, concentration limits, and leverage partner reporting.
Strong Excel skills; comfort with data and reporting tools (SQL or BI tools a plus).
Ability to independently manage multiple complex workflows under tight deadlines.
Clear, concise communicator; comfortable engaging across functions and with external counterparties (borrowers, lenders, custodians, servicers).
High judgment and ability to operate with limited oversight in ambiguous or time-sensitive situations.
Experience in a high-growth environment strongly preferred.

About the role
Behind many of life’s most important transactions, buying a house, applying for a mortgage, getting a small business loan, or refinancing a credit card, is a network of credit relationships. Setpoint provides critical infrastructure for relationships between the world’s largest banks, credit funds, and capital markets counterparties. We’re building trust in this system of credit.
We are looking for a Chief of Staff to work directly with our founding CEO. In this position, you will be the CEO’s right hand: half strategic partner, half operational executor. You will own the rhythm of how the company runs at the executive level, drive the projects that matter most to the CEO but that he cannot execute alone, and make sure decisions turn into outcomes. You will sit in on almost everything the CEO does and have a seat at the table for the company’s most important conversations. The right person uses this role as a launchpad. Two to three years in, we want you running a function, a business unit, or a major company initiative.
Who will love this job
An entrepreneurial operator: You have an ownership mindset and treat every problem as if the company is yours.
A force multiplier: You make the people around you, especially the CEO, dramatically more effective.
Highly organized: You bring structure to chaos and never let things slip through the cracks.
A clear and concise communicator: You write tight memos, run sharp meetings, and explain complex ideas simply.
A capital markets thinker: You can hold your own in conversations about credit, securitization, and lending economics.
Comfortable with ambiguity: You have a strong bias to action and would rather ship a v1 today than a v3 next month.
What you’ll do
Run the CEO’s operating cadence: staff meetings, weekly business reviews, exec offsites, and quarterly and annual planning.
Drive 2 to 4 high-priority strategic initiatives at any given time. These are projects the CEO owns but cannot personally execute, ranging from a new pricing motion to a key partnership to a leadership hire.
Build and maintain the company’s goal-setting and tracking: OKRs, KPIs, and the dashboards that tell us whether we are on track.
Sit in on key meetings, capture decisions, and drive follow-through across the exec team. If something is stuck, you unblock it.
Lead internal communications: all-hands, founder updates, and the narrative we tell employees, candidates, and the market.
Triage the CEO’s inbox, calendar, and attention. Decide what hits his desk and what does not.
Step in as the acting owner of any function or workstream that needs leadership while we hire.
You should have
5 to 8 years of experience, with a strong preference for an ex-consulting (MBB) or ex-banking / PE associate background. Operating experience at a high-growth startup is a plus on top of that foundation.
Fintech, ABS, or capital markets understanding. You can build and read a financial model and own board-quality materials without hand-holding.
Exceptional writing and synthesis. You can take a 90-minute meeting and produce a one-page memo that makes the right decision obvious.
Track record of owning projects end to end in ambiguous environments.
Discretion. You will be in the room for comp, fundraising, and personnel conversations.
Low ego. You are happy doing $300/hour work and $30/hour work in the same afternoon.
Prior Chief of Staff, BizOps, or Strategy & Operations experience at a venture-backed company is a plus.

Capital Solutions Manager (Data OS, Insight OS)
Austin or New York (Hybrid)
Apply
About the role
Behind many of life’s most important transactions — buying a house, applying for a mortgage, getting a small business loan, or refinancing a credit card — is a network of credit relationships. Setpoint provides critical operational infrastructure for relationships between the world’s largest banks, credit funds and capital markets counterparties. We’re building trust in this system of credit.
We’re looking for a Capital Solutions Manager to join our team and serve as the bridge between our clients and our engineering organization. You’ll take ownership of live client portfolios across Data OS and Insight OS, our data management and analytics platforms.
This isn’t a back-office analytics role. You’ll be client-facing from day one, owning deal relationships, translating complex structured finance requirements into engineering specs, and ensuring that every dashboard, data pipeline, and export meets institutional-grade standards.
This is an opportunity to be an early owner of a fast-growing product lines (Data OS and Insight OS) at a fast-growing platform. You’ll be a co-owner of creating tech solutions for lenders and borrowers in asset backed credit. We have a strong ethos of promoting from within, and you'll be given ample opportunities for career development and advancement.
Who will love this job
You’re a doer: You own outcomes and set the pace.
You’re a clear communicator: You can work effectively across credit, product, and engineering teams.
You thrive in ambiguity: You can take a problem and run end-to-end without a playbook.
You’re frustrated by the status quo: You’ve seen how much of structured finance still runs on spreadsheets and want to fix it.
You’re hands-on across domains: You can parse a borrowing base certificate and translate it into clear requirements for engineering.
You’re detail-obsessed: You catch data inconsistencies others miss and care deeply about accuracy.
You’re curious: You’re excited about how AI and automation are transforming financial operations.
What you’ll do
Own client portfolios end-to-end. Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned clients across Data OS and Insight OS — managing onboarding, success, and supporting growth.
Translate our customer’s structured finance needs for Engineering. Act as the bridge between our clients and our product/engineering organization for Data OS and Insight OS. Define what needs to be built, flag what may be custom work, write the specs, review the output, and validate that dashboards and data pipelines match analytical intent.
Own the accuracy of Setpoint’s data layer across your assigned portfolio. Lead data quality assessments on incoming loan tapes and client deliverables — identifying anomalies, missing fields, and population gaps before they reach production.
Supervise offshore implementation resources. Directly manage a team of offshore analysts supporting data ingestion, validation, and reporting workflows. Set priorities, review work product, and ensure delivery standards are met.
Leverage AI-powered workflows and internal tooling. Use and help refine our internal AI-assisted deal workflows — from automated data quality checks to metric design and schema mapping — to accelerate delivery and improve consistency across client portfolios.
Make us better. Contribute to product priorities, onboarding playbooks, sector templates, and process documentation that make our delivery engine repeatable as the portfolio grows.
You should have
3–6 years in private credit, asset-backed lending, or structured finance. You’ve worked with loan tapes, servicer reports, borrowing base certificates, or compliance packages — not just in theory, but hands-on. Experience across multiple asset classes (consumer, auto, fund finance, CRE) is a strong plus.
Demonstrated client management experience. You’ve owned client relationships — running calls, managing expectations, resolving issues — in a professional services, advisory, or platform context. You’re comfortable being the face of the company to institutional investors and lenders.
Strong analytical and data skills. Expert-level Excel is baseline. Comfort with SQL, Python, data pipelines, or business intelligence tools (Metabase, Tableau, etc.) is highly valued. You don’t need to write production code, but you should be able to read a data schema, trace a metric back to its source field, and spot when something doesn’t add up.
Experience writing technical specifications or engineering handoff documents. You’ve translated business requirements into structured artifacts — field mappings, data dictionaries, logic definitions, or acceptance criteria — that a technical team can execute against.
Comfort with AI/LLM tooling and automation. You don’t need to be an AI engineer, but you should be excited about using AI-assisted workflows to accelerate data analysis, quality checks, and specification writing. Familiarity with prompt engineering or AI copilot tools is a plus.
Team supervision experience. You’ve managed or coordinated the work of junior analysts, offshore teams, or cross-functional workstreams. You can set priorities, review deliverables, and maintain quality without micromanaging.
Ability to operate independently in ambiguous environments. You can take a vague client request, figure out what’s actually needed, scope the work, and deliver — without someone laying out every step. You handle tight timelines and competing priorities without losing quality.
