About Solace

Solace cuts through the red tape of healthcare by pairing patients with expert advocates and giving them the tools to make better decisions—and get better outcomes.

About the Role
As Product Counsel, you'll be a trusted legal partner for the Product organization. This isn't a role for someone who wants to review finished specs from the sidelines. Reporting to the Head of Commercial Legal, you'll counsel teams from the earliest design conversations through launch, implement privacy-by-design across the company, and give practical, real-time advice that balances legal risk against the speed the business needs. The role is remote but requires occasional travel, including to Solace's headquarters in Redwood City, California.
What You'll Do
Serve as the primary legal partner to Product and related-Engineering teams, advising across the full product lifecycle—from early design through launch—so that legal risk is identified and addressed early rather than at the finish line.
Consider privacy-by-design across Solace: advise on data flows, the collection, use, and protection of PHI and other sensitive data, and compliance with HIPAA/HITECH, state consumer-health-privacy laws (e.g., Washington's My Health My Data Act), CCPA/CPRA, and other applicable U.S. privacy and security requirements.
Lead privacy assessments for new features and services, including AI-powered features, and translate the results into concrete product requirements.
Partner with Marketing on advertising claims, consumer-protection and FTC considerations, and ad-tech practices.
Draft, negotiate, and maintain the user-facing legal layer of our products—terms of service, consents, privacy notices, and telehealth-related disclosures—and keep them current as products and regulations evolve.
Advise on data-sharing arrangements and vendor/partner integrations that touch product data, coordinating with the commercial and compliance teams on BAAs, DPAs, and related terms.
Build the templates, playbooks, and self-service guidance to support a fast-scaling product organization without becoming a bottleneck.
-
Partner cross-functionally with Security, Compliance, Operations, and Finance, and know what to escalate to the Chief Legal Officer and leadership.
What You Bring
JD from an accredited law school and active bar membership in good standing.
3-6 years’ experience counseling product and engineering teams on privacy and technology matters.
Strong healthcare privacy and data-protection foundation—HIPAA/HITECH plus U.S. state privacy laws—ideally in a healthcare, digital-health, or other regulated environment.
Fluency across the product-counsel toolkit: AI/ML, intellectual property, consumer protection, and advertising/marketing law.
Sound instincts on risk versus velocity, and the judgment to land on real answers instead of hedges.
Excellent communication and cross-functional skills—you can boil a complex issue down to a bottom line product and engineering can act on.
Nice to have: privacy certification (e.g., CIPP/US); experience with health-data marketing/ad-tech; and familiarity with telehealth or marketplace models.
Applicants must be based in the United States.

We look forward to meeting you.

About the Role
Solace is scaling fast, and the corporate and finance work that comes with that is scaling too. We're looking for a lawyer who can own that work and grow into more of it as we do.
Reporting to the Chief Legal Officer, you'll be the go-to lawyer for financing and strategic transactions, M&A, and corporate governance, while helping get us IPO-ready from a legal and process standpoint. You'll work closely with Corporate Development, Finance, and Compliance, so this is a position for someone who likes to collaborate cross-functionally. We’re flexible on seniority for the role; what matters more than the label is whether you can move fast, exercise business judgment, and build the corporate and governance infrastructure of a company that's headed toward the public markets.
What You'll Do
Facilitate financing and strategic transactions, including equity and debt raises, credit facilities, and other capital markets activity, from structuring through close.
Counsel on M&A and strategic transactions, from diligence through execution and integration, including drafting and negotiating LOIs, NDAs, purchase agreements, and ancillary closing documents.
Help build the governance and compliance infrastructure to support public company readiness.
Support corporate governance, including board and committee materials, notices, agendas, minutes, resolutions, and consents, and help mature these processes as the company scales.
Oversee entity management across our corporate structure, including formation, qualification, compliance, and dissolution of said entities.
Build and maintain policies and procedures for compliance with securities regulations applicable to public companies.
Partner closely with Corporate Development, Finance, and Compliance on transaction strategy, risk management, audits, equity plans, and internal controls.
Build the templates, playbooks, and internal processes that let a small legal team support a fast-scaling business without reinventing the wheel every time.
Manage relationships with outside counsel and other advisors on corporate, securities, and transactional matters.
What You Bring
JD from an accredited law school and active bar membership in good standing.
3-9+ years of corporate, transactional, and securities law experience; we care more about what you've actually done than the number on your resume.
Experience with financing transactions, M&A, and corporate governance, with in-house experience strongly preferred.
IPO readiness background, with public company and SEC reporting experience a plus, not a requirement.
Healthcare, marketplace, or other regulated-industry experience is helpful but not required.
Strong instincts on risk versus velocity, and the judgment to know what needs to be escalated to leadership.
Excellent negotiation, drafting, and project management skills, with the ability to run complex, cross-functional transactions on tight timelines.
Applicants must be based in the United States.

Sr. Security Engineer (Detection)

Read more in our Bloomberg funding announcement here.
About the Role
We're looking for a Sr. Security Engineer to join our growing security team at Solace. You'll be a generalist at heart, but your first and most important mission is clear: own our detection and alerting program end to end.
We have the raw materials in place — a Datadog SIEM with logs flowing in from across our identity, cloud, endpoint, and SaaS stack — but we need someone who can turn that telemetry into a high-signal detection program. You'll decide what we detect, write and tune the rules, kill the noise, and make sure that when something real happens, we know fast and respond well.
This is a hands-on, high-ownership role on a small team in a HIPAA-regulated environment. You'll report to our Staff Security Engineer and work alongside engineers focused on application and infrastructure security. What you build here will be the foundation of security operations at Solace for years.
What You'll Do
Detection Engineering & SIEM Ownership (Primary Focus)
Own our Datadog Cloud SIEM: log pipelines, parsing, enrichment, retention, and cost management
Build, tune, and maintain detection rules across our environment — identity (Okta, Google Workspace), cloud (AWS, GCP), endpoint (Jamf), data platforms (Snowflake), and SaaS audit logs (GitHub, Slack, and more)
Systematically reduce alert noise and drive alert quality metrics (fidelity, time-to-triage, false-positive rates)
Map detection coverage against real-world threats (MITRE ATT&CK) and close the highest-risk gaps first
Treat detections as code: version-controlled, tested, documented, and peer-reviewed
Ensure logging and audit trails meet HIPAA requirements for ePHI systems
Incident Response
Serve as a primary responder for security alerts and incidents: triage, investigate, contain, and document
Improve and extend our incident response playbooks, and run post-incident reviews that produce real fixes
Build automation to speed up triage and response (enrichment, auto-containment, workflow automation)
Participate in and help mature our on-call rotation as the team grows
Generalist Security Engineering
Contribute to cloud and infrastructure security hardening across AWS and GCP
Support identity and access management improvements (Okta policies, access reviews, least privilege)
Pitch in on vendor security reviews, security questionnaires, and audit evidence gathering (HIPAA, SOC 2)
Help build a security-first culture through documentation, tooling, and partnership with engineering teams
What We're Looking For
Required:
3–6 years in security operations, detection engineering, incident response, or similar hands-on security roles
Real experience building and tuning detections in a SIEM — Datadog Cloud SIEM strongly preferred, but deep experience with Splunk, Elastic, Chronicle, Sentinel, or Panther translates well
Fluency reading and correlating logs from cloud providers (CloudTrail, GCP audit logs), identity providers, and SaaS platforms
Hands-on incident response experience: you've triaged real alerts, worked real incidents, and written the post-mortems
Scripting ability (Python or similar) for automation, log analysis, and detection tooling
Strong understanding of common attack patterns — phishing, credential compromise, SSO abuse, cloud misconfigurations, supply chain risks
Comfortable with ambiguity and building from scratch; startup or small-team experience is a strong signal
Nice to Have:
Experience in healthcare or other regulated environments (HIPAA, SOC 2, HITRUST)
Detection-as-code workflows (Terraform, CI/CD for detections)
SOAR or workflow automation experience (Tines, Windmill, custom tooling)
Familiarity with Okta, Jamf, Snowflake, GitHub, or Vanta from a security operations perspective
Threat hunting experience or contributions to open-source detection content
Working Style:
Bias toward action — you'd rather ship a good detection today and iterate than design the perfect one for a month
High signal in communication: clear incident writeups, honest post-mortems, and the ability to explain risk to non-security audiences
Strong ownership mentality — you notice gaps and close them without being asked
Collaborative and low-ego on a small team where everyone wears multiple hats
Care about doing security right in an environment where patient data is at stake
Applicants must be based in the United States.
Up for the Challenge?
We look forward to meeting you.

About the Role
At Solace, we operate at the center of one of the most complex systems in the country. Our platform supports patients navigating diagnoses, insurance battles, and care coordination across all 50 states. Compliance is not a back-office function here, it is core to how we earn and maintain trust with patients, advocates, and partners.
As Compliance Counsel, you'll provide legal and regulatory judgment on how Solace operates within healthcare law while enabling the speed and ownership that make our advocates effective. Reporting to and working closely with the Director of Compliance, you'll take ambiguous, fragmented requirements across federal programs (including Medicare), state regulations, and privacy laws, and turn them into guidance, policy, and systems the company can actually run on.
What You’ll Do
Provide legal and regulatory analysis on HIPAA, Medicare, Medicaid, and state healthcare requirements, translating complex requirements into clear, practical guidance for business and operational teams.
Partner with the Director of Compliance to assess regulatory risks, develop compliance strategies, and advise on emerging issues across the company’s products, services, and operating model.
Advise cross-functional teams, including Product, Engineering, Clinical Operations, Revenue Cycle, and Provider Operations, on compliance requirements for new products, features, workflows, and business initiatives before launch.
Execute compliance reviews, audits, and monitoring activities related to Medicare, payer programs, HIPAA, and other healthcare regulatory requirements, including evidence collection, documentation review, issue identification, and remediation planning.
Draft and maintain compliance policies, procedures, playbooks, and training materials that reflect regulatory requirements and evolving business practices.
Help embed compliance requirements directly into operational processes, product workflows, and system controls by partnering closely with business and technical stakeholders.
Review vendor agreements, business associate agreements, and other commercial arrangements for healthcare regulatory and compliance considerations.
Support investigations, risk assessments, and remediation efforts involving potential compliance concerns, including billing, documentation, privacy, and operational issues.
Monitor and research regulatory developments, CMS guidance, state healthcare regulations, and enforcement trends, and translate their impact into actionable recommendations for the Director of Compliance and business teams.
Support the development and continuous improvement of the company’s compliance program, including risk assessments, monitoring plans, reporting, and governance activities.
What You Bring
J.D. and active bar admission in at least one U.S. state.
3–6 years of experience in compliance or regulatory legal practice, with a strong preference for healthcare compliance.
Comfort operating in ambiguity, especially in environments where regulation and business models are evolving.
Experience supporting audits, investigations, monitoring activities, and compliance program operations.
Strong judgment - you know how to balance legal risk, regulatory integrity, and business velocity.
Detail orientation without losing sight of the practical goal.
Nice to have: familiarity with CMS programs, Medicare billing requirements, healthcare documentation standards, or healthcare privacy law.
Applicants must be based in the United States.
Up for the Challenge?
We look forward to meeting you.

About the Role
Solace is operating across all 50 states, growing fast, and building a workforce that doesn't fit neatly into a traditional employment framework. We are also reaching a scale where we need a strong leader to prevent and, when necessary, resolve the wide range of disputes that are likely to arise. As Head of Employment & Litigation, you'll provide pragmatic employment advice and manage litigation matters across the organization. This isn't a role for someone who wants to sit back and issue-spot. Reporting to the Chief Legal Officer, you'll give real-time, practical advice to people leaders and executives, directly oversee our litigation docket, and build employment policies that scale with a company adding headcount every month.
What You'll Do
Be a thought leader and deliver pragmatic guidance on a wide range of labor and employment issues, including recruiting, hiring, compensation, benefits, wage and hour laws, leaves of absence, disability accommodations, pay practices, contingent workers, HR policies and procedures, performance management, investigations, terminations, and labor relations.
Design and deliver practical employment-law training for managers and people teams, from manager onboarding to targeted sessions on high-risk areas like terminations, accommodations, and investigations.
Work with functional leaders, including the Head of People, to build and maintain the employment policies and programs that let Solace scale including handbooks, leave policies, accommodation processes, termination protocols, and the state-by-state nuance underneath all of it.
Draft employment agreements, offer letters, separation agreements, and the templates recruiting and people teams use every day.

Manage outside counsel relationships and litigation budgets across all active matters, ensuring consistent strategy and cost discipline.
Build a dispute-prevention infrastructure–arbitration agreements, class-action waivers, and exit and severance protocols–designed to keep disputes out of litigation.
Partner with HR and business leaders to spot early warning signs across complaints, investigations, and exits, and drive corrective action before claims are filed.
What You Bring
JD from an accredited law school and active bar membership in good standing.
9-12+ years of employment and litigation experience, with in-house experience being strongly preferred.
Pragmatic instincts with the ability to weigh risk against velocity and land on real answers, not hedges.
Experience building policy from scratch rather than simply enforcing what already exists.
Track record managing outside counsel and litigation budgets across a distributed, multi-state workforce.
Healthcare, marketplace, or other regulated-industry experience is a plus, not a requirement.
Applicants must be based in the United States.

The Producer is the operational backbone of Solace's in-house video team, partnering closely with editors, creatives, marketers, and stakeholders to bring compelling stories to life. This role spans both production and post-production, ensuring projects move smoothly from concept through final delivery. You'll lead shoot logistics, coordinate crews and vendors, manage budgets and schedules, and drive the post-production process - keeping teams aligned, communication clear, and projects on track.
You're a producer who understands the creative process. You know how to create the structure that allows editors, directors, and creatives to do their best work while maintaining a high bar for quality, organization, and execution.

Solace is a fully remote company. This role is remote with regular travel, including production shoots across the country, company offsites, and occasional working sessions at our Redwood City office.
What you'll do
Production (roughly half the role):
Co-own shoot production end to end: scheduling, location logistics, crew and vendor booking, gear coordination, call sheets, and day-of production management
Produce a mix of Bay Area shoots and travel productions in markets like Miami, San Diego, and other locations nationwide
Build and manage production budgets, track spend, and handle vendor payments and reconciliation
Source and manage relationships with freelance crew, rental houses, studios, and other vendors across multiple markets
Coordinate vendors for company offsites and events, including stage visuals, A/V production, and event photography
Coordinate with interview subjects - often patients, caregivers, and advocates - with care, discretion, and professionalism
Post-production (roughly half the role):
Serve as the connective tissue between the video team and internal stakeholders, managing project intake, expectations, and communication across marketing and other departments
Help manage schedules and workloads across a post team of two senior editors and an assistant editor
Run feedback rounds: consolidating stakeholder notes, translating them into clear, actionable direction for editors, and keeping revisions on schedule
Own quality control on every cut that goes out for review - versioning, delivery specs, and detail-level accuracy are non-negotiable
Track projects and requests in Linear, keeping status visible and dependencies clear
What You Bring to the Table
7+ years of experience producing video, with meaningful time spent in both field production and post-production coordination

Product Design Manager
About Solace
Healthcare in the U.S. is fundamentally broken. The system is so complex that 88% of U.S. adults do not have the health literacy necessary to navigate it without help. Solace cuts through the red tape of healthcare by pairing patients with expert advocates and giving them the tools to make better decisions—and get better outcomes.
We're a Series C startup, founded in 2022 and backed by Inspired Capital, Craft Ventures, Torch Capital, Menlo Ventures, Signalfire, and IVP. Our U.S. based team is lean, mission-driven, and growing quickly.
Solace isn't a place to coast. We're here to redefine healthcare—and that demands urgency, precision, and heart. If you're looking to stretch yourself, sharpen your edge, and do the best work of your life alongside a team that cares deeply, you're in the right place. We’re intense, and we like it that way.

About the Role
As a Product Design Manager at Solace, you'll lead a team of talented product designers while remaining deeply involved in the craft yourself.
This isn't a role for someone who wants to step away from design. We believe the best design leaders stay close to the work - partnering with Product and Engineering to solve complex problems, coaching designers through ambiguity, and raising the quality of everything the team ships.
You'll own a portfolio of product areas, helping shape both the product experience and the designers responsible for bringing it to life. You'll balance strategic thinking with hands-on design leadership, creating an environment where designers can do the best work of their careers.
This is an in-office leadership role. While Solace is remote-first, we're intentionally investing in in-person creative leadership to strengthen collaboration, mentorship, and design culture.
What You'll Do
Lead, coach, and develop a team of Product Designers through regular feedback, mentorship, and career development
Partner closely with Product Managers and Engineering leaders to shape product strategy and define thoughtful user experiences
Raise the quality of product design across your domain through strong creative direction, critique, and hands-on design leadership
Stay closely connected to the work, contributing to complex initiatives and helping teams navigate ambiguity
Establish and reinforce design standards, systems thinking, and interaction patterns across multiple product areas
Foster a culture of collaboration, curiosity, and continuous improvement within the Product Design team
Help scale the organization by contributing to hiring, onboarding, team rituals, and design processes
What You Bring to the Table
Significant experience designing complex digital products, with experience leading designers or design teams
A portfolio demonstrating exceptional product design craft and strategic thinking
Experience partnering closely with Product Management and Engineering in fast-paced environments
Strong systems thinking and the ability to connect individual features to a cohesive product experience
Excellent coaching, communication, and feedback skills
A hands-on approach to leadership—you enjoy designing as much as you enjoy developing people
Comfort navigating ambiguity and helping teams make thoughtful decisions without having all the answers
Experience building healthy, collaborative design cultures where people grow and produce exceptional work
