Senior Software Engineer, Data Ingest
Tabs is the leading AI-native revenue platform for modern finance and accounting teams. Tabs agents automate the entire contract-to-cash lifecycle, including billing, collections, revenue recognition, and reporting, to help teams eliminate manual work and accelerate cash flow.
High-growth companies like Cursor and Statsig rely on Tabs to generate invoices directly from contracts, reconcile payments in real time, and automate ASC 606 compliance.
Founded in 2023, Tabs has raised over $91 million from Lightspeed Venture Partners, General Catalyst, and Primary. The team is headquartered in New York and brings deep expertise in finance and AI.
About the Role
Tabs is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join the Data Ingest team, part of our broader Integrations org. This team's mission is simple to state and hard to build: any source, any data — from real-time CRM sync to usage events and streams to the customer and commercial graph that ties it all together.
Data volumes are about to grow sharply as merchants shift to AI-era, usage-based billing, and this team's usage-to-billing pipeline and CRM integrations need to scale to meet it. This is a senior IC role today, with real room to grow into technical leadership as the team grows.
Why Engineers Love Working Here
Our teams build iteratively — engineers work closely with product and design to to deliver the first version that solves the problem, get it in front of the customers, and then use the feedback to build even better. We keep the bigger picture in mind but don’t let “perfect” get in the way of “useful”. The work spans new product development, system design, data modeling, and operational scale. Engineers join Tabs because they want to own meaningful systems, shape how our platform evolves, and learn from talented peers in a fast-moving environment.
At Tabs you will not be pushing anonymous tickets. You will be trusted with real scope, real decisions, and real customers. We expect engineers to think critically, debate ideas, explain tradeoffs, and follow through.
What You'll Do
Own pieces of the usage-to-billing pipeline: ingesting raw usage events, aggregating them, turning datapoints into dynamic pricing.
Build and scale real-time CRM ingestion (Salesforce, HubSpot today) toward a platform that can onboard any new data source without custom code.
Design and extend the customer and commercial graph — the semantic model that represents our customers and their customers across Tabs.
Work across the full stack — front-end configuration surfaces like an in-app workflow builder, as well as backend and event ingest infrastructure.
Level up the engineers around you. The engineering organization has a range of experiences and backgrounds, and we’re growing fast. You'll be someone people look up to as you set the technical bar, mentor and learn from those around you, and shape the kind of culture we want as we get bigger.
What We Care About
You'll thrive at Tabs if you:
Enjoy owning systems end-to-end, from first design doc to fixing production edge cases weeks later.
Care deeply about correctness and long-term maintainability, but don’t let that stop you from shipping a useful initial version and learning from it.
Systems thinking: you can spot the pattern across several different issues, talk to people to understand the true requirements, and see the common architectural solution instead of coding band-aid fixes.
Are curious about domains you don't already understand - like accounting!
Can disagree respectfully, explain your reasoning, and change your mind when the data says you should.
We're optimizing for excellent engineers who are good teammates.
The Stack
We care more about how fast you learn than experience with our exact stack.
TypeScript, Node, NestJS
React, Next.js
Java / Kafka
Postgres, Redis, ClickHouse
Experience
5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
Experience with TypeScript or a similar language, and a willingness to work across the stack.
Experience with high volume data ingest a plus.

Solution Architect
About the role:
Tabs is hiring a Solution Architect to design custom workflows, integrations, and platform extensions for our most complex, highest-value customers. When a use case doesn't fit the product, you're the person who figures out what's possible, what needs to be built, and how it all connects, then designs a solution Product Delivery, Implementation, and Engineering can actually deliver. The patterns you define and the tradeoffs you make shape customer outcomes and the product's long-term direction. You'll partner with Product and Engineering to surface gaps, influence the roadmap, and turn today's bespoke work into tomorrow's reusable capability.
What You'll Do:
Design solutions for complex customer builds: Own the technical design for challenging Product Delivery projects — mapping customer requirements to data models, API workflows, and integration patterns across ERPs, CRMs, payment processors, tax engines, and other systems in the customer stack.
Be a key voice in scoping conversations: Partner with sales, implementation, and customer success during pre-sales and kickoff to pressure-test feasibility, size complexity honestly, and prevent scope surprises later. Say no when the answer should be no, and propose an alternative when it shouldn't.
Define and evolve integration patterns: Turn one-off solutions into reusable playbooks. Identify what should stay bespoke, what should be templated for the PD team, and what should be productized by Engineering.
Partner with Product and Engineering: Bring sharp signal from the field back into the roadmap. Escalate gaps, advocate for platform investments, and collaborate on the design of new API and platform capabilities that unlock harder customer use cases.
Guide execution across projects: Work alongside FDEs and Product Delivery teammates as they build. Review approaches, unblock design decisions, and step in on the hardest problems without taking over ownership.
Investigate the messy middle: Get hands-on in customer environments and third-party systems to diagnose issues, validate assumptions, and de-risk designs before commitments are made.
Document what works: Capture patterns, anti-patterns, and lessons learned so the team compounds knowledge over time.
Who You Are:
You've designed and delivered custom customer solutions before, and you've seen enough integrations, edge cases, and failure modes to have real instincts. You can look at a customer's stack and a set of requirements and quickly form a point of view on the right approach, the risks, and the tradeoffs.
You're a strong systems thinker. You reason naturally about data flows, dependencies, and where things break. You care about elegance but you're pragmatic — you know when to build the right thing and when to ship the good-enough thing so the customer can go live.
You communicate clearly across audiences. You can walk a CFO or controller through why a workflow needs to change, explain a design tradeoff to an engineer, and align a sales team on what's actually achievable in the timeline. You bring calm and clarity to ambiguous, high-stakes conversations.
You're proactive, resourceful, and comfortable with ambiguity. You build the plan, socialize it, and drive it forward — without waiting for someone else to define the process.
Experience:
Experience in solutions architecture, forward-deployed engineering, implementation engineering, technical project management, or a similar role where you owned the design of customer-facing solutions.
Experience designing integrations across multiple systems (ERPs, CRMs, billing, payments, tax, or similar), ideally in fintech, SaaS, or B2B environments.
Strong systems and API fluency — you can read documentation, reason about data models and edge cases, and design workflows that hold up under real customer usage. You don't need to be a full-time engineer, but you should be comfortable getting hands-on where it matters.
Track record of surfacing customer and field signal to influence product and engineering priorities.
Strong cross-functional communicator with experience partnering across GTM, Product, Engineering, and customer stakeholders.
Comfort operating in a startup environment with imperfect requirements, evolving priorities, and high customer expectations.
Nice to Have:
Familiarity with SQL and light scripting (Python or similar) for investigation, prototyping, and validating designs.
Background in finance, accounting, or revenue operations — or experience implementing platforms that touch those workflows (billing, revenue recognition, AR, close).
Experience integrating with ERPs like NetSuite, Sage Intacct, or QuickBooks, or CRMs like Salesforce or HubSpot.
Exposure to ASC 606 or other revenue recognition frameworks.
Perks and Benefits (Full-time Employees)
Competitive compensation and equity
Unlimited PTO
Up to 100% employer covered monthly healthcare premium (medical, dental, vision)
Lunch provided via Sharebite, plus dinner for any later in office days.
Parental leave up to 12 weeks

You’re genuinely excited about AI, already using it, testing its limits, and keeping up with the latest advancements.
Ambiguity doesn't slow you down. You thrive in the early, undefined stage of a problem where you get to shape the answer rather than follow a spec.
You're the kind of engineer other engineers want to learn from, and you truly enjoy that aspect of the role.
Not sure you tick every box? Apply anyway. If you're excited about what we're building, we want to hear from you.
