About the Role
We’re looking for a collaborative and analytical Product Marketing Manager to join the marketing team at Tailscale. You will work closely with product, marketing, and revenue teams to identify customer needs, pain points, and articulate “Why Tailscale?” and then turn these insights into actionable assets for us to go-to-market with. This role might be perfect for you if you are familiar with PAM, networking infrastructure, or enterprise security needs, and can communicate technical features as easy-to-digest benefits. If you love highly cross-functional work and want to help a rapidly growing sales and revenue team succeed, read on.
Because we’re an early-stage and fully remote company, we’re looking for a motivated individual who is comfortable working asynchronously, thrives in ambiguity and has a focus on getting it right, not being right.
Key Responsibilities
Becoming the expert on our users and customers — who they are, what their pain points are, and what drives them to seek out solutions
Collaborating with sales, product and marketing teams to develop and refine product positioning, messaging, and effective content
Launching new products or features, managing cross-functional projects associated with that launch, and measuring revenue and pipeline generated
Creating sales collateral and enablement materials— slide decks, one-pagers, training sessions, customer case studies, webinars, etc.. This includes delegating and working with designers/web developers/content marketers as needed.
Performing competitive and market analysis to inform messaging and campaigns, and influence product strategy
Represent PMM at industry events by delivering demos and gathering firsthand customer and prospect insights to shape messaging and campaign strategy
Helping drive meaningful sales pipeline
What We Are Looking For
At least 5+ years of experience in product marketing, working with sales teams, and sales enablement
A proven track record in marketing, product marketing, sales enablement, product management, or a related field with a minimum of 5+ years of direct experience
An affinity for complex, highly technical subjects
Experience managing interdependent, complex projects and keeping multiple work streams on track
An analytical and data-driven mindset with an enthusiasm for problem-solving and measuring the effectiveness of your work
The ability to quickly adapt and react to changing plans and ambiguity.
Excellent people skills - this role will interact with many cross-functional teams and the ability to communicate and negotiate effectively will be critical to the success of this role
A bias toward action, execution, and iteration
Nice to Have
Start up experience
Experience with networking or security products used in SaaS or cloud environments

About Tailscale
Tailscale is making safe connection effortless by delivering software that makes it easy to securely interconnect people and their devices, no matter where they are. From hobbyists to multinational corporations, teams of every size use Tailscale each day to protect their networks, share access to internal tools, and more. We're building a future for the Internet that's easy, sensible, and safe, like it used to be. Founded in 2019 and fully distributed, we're backed by Accel, CRV, Insight, Heavybit, and Uncork Capital.
About the Role
We're seeking a talented and motivated full-time Software Engineer, AI Enablement to help Tailscale's engineering organization get the most out of AI-assisted development. You'll join a small, high-leverage team reporting to our co-founder, working alongside our first AI enablement engineer to build the tools, workflows, and practices that help every engineer at Tailscale build faster and more safely with AI. This is a foundational role — you'll have real latitude to shape what AI enablement means here as we scale, with direct visibility into how the whole engineering org adopts these tools.
Key Responsibilities
Partner with engineering leadership and Tailscale's technical staff to define and drive our internal AI-enablement roadmap.
Work closely with the team building Aperture by Tailscale, our AI gateway used both internally and offered as a product.
Build and iterate on the tools, workflows, and shared practices that help engineers get real value from coding agents — and evaluate new models and tools, making clear calls on what we adopt.
Partner with engineering and non-engineering teams to find high-leverage opportunities to apply AI — this is a support function, so success means other teams shipping faster because of what you've built.
Establish the guardrails, review practices, and documentation that make AI-generated code safe to ship, and act as the internal advocate who helps teams adopt good practices without mandating a single tool.
Track adoption and measure the real impact of AI tooling on velocity and quality, and report back to leadership.
What We Are Looking For
5+ years of professional software engineering experience
Genuine, daily, hands-on fluency with modern AI coding tools (Claude Code, Codex, Pi, or similar) — real power-user experience, not occasional use
Experience building and shipping internal tools or developer-facing automation
Strong written and verbal communication and internal advocacy skills — comfortable teaching, writing, and influencing engineers at very different comfort levels with AI tooling
A balanced approach — trying to get people to use AI effectively and safely where appropriate. We don't have an 'AI mandate'; we believe that if we make AI both easy to use and safe, people will choose to use it when appropriate.
Comfort with ambiguity and self-directed prioritization on a small, still-forming team
Product or systems thinking — able to identify and prioritize high-leverage opportunities, not just execute a pre-set roadmap
Nice to Have
Prior experience in developer experience, platform engineering, or internal tooling
Experience evaluating or benchmarking LLMs and coding agents
Experience with a systems language such as Go or Rust, in addition to Python
Background in security or code-review practices — helpful for reasoning about AI/agent-generated code, though you don't need to be a security engineer
Experience in developer relations, technical evangelism, or customer-facing developer advocacy — the same skills that make someone effective in external DevRel translate well to driving internal AI adoption
Technical project management experience

Why are you being asked to complete this form?
We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.
Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
How do you know if you have a disability?

About Tailscale
Tailscale is building the new Internet by delivering software that makes it easy to securely interconnect people and their devices, no matter where they are.
As a highly distributed team, our culture, our recognition, and our sense of being one team don’t happen by default - they take varied, intentional work to build. That’s what this role exists to own: every internal event we run, from the company-wide offsite to team offsites, recurring virtual gatherings, and all the moments in between that make remote and hybrid work feel connected.
We're looking for a full-time internal Events and Remote Experience Manager to own this end to end, including our rewards and recognition programs, so employees feel seen and celebrated no matter where they sit. You’ll own the planning and execution and be the one who makes sure it comes together seamlessly, acting as the architect of our internal culture calendar and partnering closely with People, Finance, and team leads to deliver experiences that are well-run, on budget, and genuinely valued. You'll also own our coworking and physical space relationships - making sure the spaces where our team gathers, in person or shared, actually work for how we operate.
We're a high-growth startup, so there's no existing playbook handed to you. You'll build the processes as you go, and they'll need to flex as the company changes shape under you. If you care about getting the details right, can hold a budget and a vendor relationship at the same time, and want to see a direct line between your work and how it feels to work here, we want to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities
Planning and running the company-wide offsite - venue, logistics, budget, agenda, and the on-site execution itself.
Planning team-level events and offsites with team leads, balancing what each team wants against overall budget and timeline.
Running a regular cadence of virtual events that actually keep a distributed team feeling like one team.
Managing relationships with coworking providers and physical space vendors, including renewals, capacity planning, and day-to-day issues as they come up.
Acting as the point person for in-office or coworking space needs - desk capacity, meeting room access, badge/access logistics - so teams can just show up and work.
Evaluating and recommending new coworking locations as the team grows or shifts geographically.
Owning rewards and recognition end to end, from the platform itself to nominations and the moments that make people feel seen.
Improving the remote and hybrid experience generally - swag, onboarding touches, the small rituals that matter when you rarely see the office.
Sourcing, negotiating with, and managing vendors: venues, caterers, travel, AV, swag, event platforms.
Owning event budgets from the forecast through reconciliation, and flagging variances before they become a problem.
Handling the full logistics chain - invites, RSVPs, travel, run-of-show docs, day-of execution, wrap-up - so nothing falls through the cracks.
Collecting feedback after every event and actually using it to make the next one better.
Traveling as needed to support offsites and in-person events (roughly 10–25% of the time).
What We Are Looking For
7+ years running events at a high-growth tech company as the primary owner (not supporting)
A track record of planning and executing in-person, virtual, and hybrid events, including multi-day offsites from 10-450+ humans
Experience managing a physical workspace or coworking relationship - lease terms, vendor SLAs, or day-to-day space operations
Experience negotiating and managing vendor relationships, and knowing what good looks like before you sign
Strong budget management skills - forecasting, tracking spend, and staying inside the number you committed to
Strong organizational instincts and the ability to run several events and programs at once without dropping a thread
A level head when something goes wrong on-site, because something always does
Clear written & verbal communication and presentation skills - you'll be coordinating across teams and levels constantly, as be the face of our events.
Willingness and ability to travel roughly 10–25% of the time
SF Bay Area in-office time required #LI-Hybrid
Nice to Have
Familiarity with workplace/facilities platforms (Envoy, Robin, OfficeSpace, or similar) for space and access management
Experience running a rewards and recognition program or platform (Bonusly, Nectar, Motivosity, or similar)
Comfortable with tools like Asana, Notion, or Airtable for keeping events organized
Experience designing programs specifically for a distributed or fully-remote team
A background in hospitality, production, or venue operations
An eye for photography or video, useful for capturing events as they happen
Experience measuring whether an event or program actually worked - surveys, attendance data, that kind of thing
As a company, we strive to maintain fair and equitable compensation practices within our team across all roles and all levels. Voluntary Self-Identification of Disability
Form CC-305
OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 07/31/2029
