Why are you being asked to complete this form?
We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.

This leader is responsible for building, coaching, and scaling a high-performing pre-sales technical team focused on landing new enterprise customers on Temporal Cloud.
The team partners closely with Strategic Account Executives throughout the acquisition motion, helping prospective customers evaluate the suitability of their applications for Temporal’s platform, understand the technical advantages of our cloud service, and build the technical conviction needed to become a Temporal customer. Prioritize team resources against the highest-impact opportunities, balancing pipeline coverage, deal quality, technical complexity, strategic importance, and likelihood of conversion.
Bring rigor and repeatability to the pre-sales process, from qualification through technical win, while adapting to each prospect’s unique context.
Serve as an escalation point and strategic advisor on complex, competitive, or high-value new-logo engagements.
Help the team surface additional opportunities through technical discovery, developer engagement, and community signals.
Technical Leadership
Guide the team in positioning Temporal successfully against competing technologies, internally developed systems, and alternative architectural patterns.
Ensure Solutions Architects can educate prospects on both the technical benefits and limitations of Temporal’s platform and cloud service.
Help the team explain how Temporal supports reliable applications, distributed systems, application modernization, and emerging AI and agentic workloads.
Maintain a hands-on understanding of Temporal’s product, architecture, supported development languages, cloud service, roadmap, and engineering developments.

Work closely with Sales Development and Marketing to support target-account strategies, technical campaigns, field events, and pipeline-generation programs.
Partner with Developer Relations and Marketing on field content, practitioner education, competitive positioning, and technical storytelling.
Collaborate with Product and Engineering to surface prospect needs, feature requests, objections, competitive patterns, and market trends.
Work closely with Customer Success, Professional Services, and Developer Relations to ensure seamless transitions from new logo close to onboarding and early adoption.
Convert lessons from successful and unsuccessful evaluations into reusable playbooks, objection handling, demos, reference architectures, and enablement.

About Us
Temporal is an open source programming model that can simplify code, make applications more reliable, and help developers focus on the important things like delivering features faster. We are on a mission to be the reliable foundation of every developer’s toolbox, and are building the team that will make that happen.
Our values guide us —they are present in how we show up, make decisions, and work together to make an impact. We’re curious, driven, collaborative, genuine and humble.
Temporal is growing and we are looking for those who share our values, challenge 'standard' thinking, and want to influence our future. If you have a passion for improving the developer experience, building world-class open-source software and communities, and want to be a part of our amazing team, we'd love to hear from you!
Role Summary
The Director of GTM Strategy and Analytics at Temporal will play a pivotal role in architecting our global growth engine. This position sits at the intersection of Sales, Marketing, Finance, and Data, with primary responsibility for translating complex data into the strategic roadmap for our go-to-market (GTM) organization. You will be the lead architect for how we deploy our field teams, measure their success, and invest our next dollar for maximum leverage.
Reporting to the VP of Revenue Operations, you will partner closely with GTM and Finance leaders to build the foundational models that power our business — from headcount capacity and productivity to territory optimization and quota setting. You will also play a key role in powering the GTM operating cadence with insights, from weekly operational reporting to quarterly business reviews and board meetings. This role requires a blend of high-level strategic thinking, deep technical data expertise, and a strong understanding of both enterprise and product-led-growth motions. We are centered around providing actionable insights to our leadership team that drive tangible, positive business outcomes.
The ideal candidate is a seasoned operator who thrives in the "building" phase of a high-growth company. You are a master of data modeling who can also command a room of executives. As a Director at Temporal, you will have the opportunity to design GTM frameworks from the ground up, using best-in-class technologies while collaborating with a high-performance team dedicated to category-defining growth.
What You’ll Do
Deliver high-quality analytical outputs, including quarterly business reviews (QBRs), productivity benchmarks, and data-driven recommendations for the GTM leadership team.
Partner closely with Finance and GTM leadership to lead the annual and semi-annual planning cycles, including the development and deployment of headcount models, territory design, and sales quotas.
Build and maintain sophisticated headcount and capacity models to ensure the GTM organization is staffed to hit aggressive revenue targets based on historical ramp times and attrition.
Design and optimize sales territories using data-driven methodologies to ensure equitable patch distribution and maximum market coverage across segments.
Partner closely with the Data team to design and deploy predictive models (e.g. account propensity) as well as traditional business intelligence reporting.
Analyze the health of the sales pipeline and marketing funnel to identify leading indicators of growth and pinpoint potential bottlenecks in the customer journey.
Monitor and evaluate sales productivity performance over time, detecting trends in attainment and developing "what good looks like" profiles for various sales roles.
Conduct "white space" and TAM/SAM analyses to identify new vertical or geographic opportunities for expansion.
Communicate insights effectively to technical and non-technical audiences through clear visualizations and narratives, providing the data-backed backbone for Board-level and investor discussions.
What You'll Bring
8-10+ years of experience working in a highly analytical role focused on GTM planning, strategy, or analytics in a high-growth SaaS or infrastructure environment.
Strong foundation in operational modeling, statistical analysis, and quantitative reasoning within a B2B context.
Deep proficiency in SQL and the Salesforce ecosystem; familiarity with the modern GTM stack.
Experience working with modern data processing and query engines to extract insights from raw usage and behavioral data (e.g. AWS Athena).
Familiarity with key SaaS business metrics such as Magic Number, CAC Payback, LTV/CAC, and Net Revenue Retention (NRR).
Hands-on experience with territory management tools and quota-setting methodologies at scale.
A results-oriented mindset with a focus on driving measurable improvements in sales velocity and rep attainment.
Ability to prototype complex models quickly in Excel or Google Sheets and transition them into scalable BI solutions.
Comfort operating in environments with imperfect data definitions, evolving metrics, and the need to make high-stakes decisions under uncertainty.
Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional projects and influence executive-level stakeholders.
Curiosity and enthusiasm for uncovering the "why" behind the numbers through continuous experimentation and iteration.
Clear communicator who can explain complex strategic decisions and analytical insights in plain language, tailoring the message to the specific needs of the leadership team.
