Manager, Enterprise Solutions Engineering
A little about us
incident.io is the leading AI incident response platform, relied on by some of the best engineering teams in the world when things go wrong.
Since launching in 2021, we've helped over 2,000 companies, including OpenAI, Netflix, and Airbnb, run more than 1 million incidents.
The stakes are real, the talent is insane, and somehow it's a genuinely lovely place to work. We all pull our weight, go the extra mile, and put in the bit of magic most companies don't have time for, all while having fun and never taking ourselves too seriously.
We've raised $96 million from Index Ventures, Insight Partners, and Point Nine, and we're growing fast. There's never been a better time to join.
The role in one line
You'll build and grow our Enterprise Solutions Engineering team: finding and hiring the best people, coaching the craft, and getting hands-on in the deals that matter most.
What that looks like day to day
Our Solutions Engineers sit at the intersection of product, engineering and enterprise customers. They're the technical experts who lead evaluations, solve complex integration challenges and help some of the world's largest engineering organisations understand what's possible with incident.io. With the launch of AI Investigations, we're seeing even more demand for technically credible partners early in the buying journey, and we're looking for someone to build the team that supports that growth.
This is a hands-on leadership role. You'll spend part of your week hiring exceptional Solutions Engineers, coaching them through customer calls, reviewing demos, and helping them grow into stronger technical and commercial operators. You'll also stay close to the business itself, understanding where pipeline is building, making sure the team is focused on the right opportunities, and jumping into our largest enterprise deals when your experience can make the difference.
Just as importantly, you'll help shape how the function scales. You'll refine how we run Solutions Engineering as the team grows, work closely with Enterprise Sales on technical strategy for our biggest opportunities, and build strong relationships with our product and engineering teams. We expect our SEs to be the eyes and ears of the product organisation, bringing back detailed customer feedback, influencing roadmap decisions, and helping us build better products. As AI becomes a bigger part of both our platform and our customers' operations, you'll also help the team develop the technical depth needed to have credible conversations about how these systems work in practice.
This is an opportunity to join early in your leadership journey and help build the next chapter of Solutions Engineering at incident.io. You'll inherit a strong foundation, but you'll have plenty of scope to raise the bar on hiring, coaching, and how the team operates as we continue to grow.
Who you are
You've managed a Solutions Engineering team before (1–3+ years leading a team), and you've grown ICs directly.
You're hands-on by default. You watch the calls, you get into the deals, and you coach on the specifics rather than the platitudes.
You're technical enough to earn trust with engineers and technical buyers, and commercial enough to know how a complex enterprise deal actually gets done.
You think ahead about the machinery and mechanics of an SE team. Pipeline, targets, enablement, capacity and who to hire next.
You're on an accelerating trajectory and you're hungry for scope. A bit of ambiguity and a lot of autonomy sounds like an exciting proposition, and you’re happy being flexible working across timezones.
You can build relationships in every direction: your team, your AEs, Product, and customers, and you can shift between deeply technical and plainly commercial without missing a beat.
Supporting you
We work hard and we think life outside work matters just as much. Our benefits pack is built to support both.
Market-leading private medical insurance. The proper kind, so you're never weighing up your health against a bill.
Competitive PTO. Showing up at your best requires switching off, and we make sure you have time to do that.
First Friday of every month off. Yes, seriously.
Enhanced 401k. We put real money in, because future-you deserves better than an afterthought.
Meaningful equity. We're rapidly scaling, and everyone who helps shape the outcome should share in it.
Unlimited AI spend. For everyone, not just engineers. We're all-in on AI across the company, and we expect you to be too.
Generous parental leave. The early days with a new baby matter more than anything we're doing here, and we want you to be present for them.
Two budgets that have your back. $1000 to invest in your setup, $500 a year to invest in yourself.
VP of Customer Success

We've raised $96 million from Index Ventures, Insight Partners, and Point Nine, and we're growing fast. There's never been a better time to join.
The Team
We're hiring a VP of Customer Success to lead and scale our global post-sales function as we grow from $XXM ARR to $XXXM and beyond. This is a defining hire for the company: customer success at incident.io isn't a coordination function, it's a core revenue driver, and we need a leader who treats it that way. You'll own the success motion globally across our Commercial, Mid-Market, and Enterprise segments, and across Americas, EMEA, and APJC, sitting on the GTM leadership team and reporting directly into the CRO, with close partnership with the co-founders and our Field CTO given how technically oriented our buyer and customer base is.
Our CS org three motions: a scaled, low-touch Commercial/SMB motion built on automation and product-led signals; a mid-touch Mid-Market/Digital Native motion for high-growth technical companies moving fast; and a high-touch, relationship-led Enterprise/Strategic Enterprise motion requiring executive alignment and deep business impact POV building. Across all three, we serve deeply technical buyers — engineers, SREs, and infrastructure teams in the CTO's and CIO's orgs — so we need a leader who wants to architect and operate a world-class success function at pace (coverage models, playbooks, tooling, team structure, culture) rather than inherit a steady-state org, and who is comfortable being hands-on, in the details, and leading from the front.
What you’ll be doing:
Own global GRR and NRR across all segments and geographies, accountable for retention, expansion, and forecasting accuracy, and build the infrastructure to predict and influence those outcomes before they materialize.
Architect the full success motion: segment-specific coverage models, capacity plans, playbooks, and tooling, all built to evolve with the shape and mix of our customer base as we grow.
Build and run a world-class account health system, defining the leading indicators we track, the signals we act on, and the reporting infrastructure that keeps the GTM team informed and ahead of risk.
Lead, coach, and develop a global CS team as a 3rd-line leader managing first- and second-line managers across multiple geos.
Be hands-on and in the details: engage directly with strategic customers when it matters and lead from the front. Our customers are technical and demanding, and the best CS leaders at incident.io earn their trust firsthand.
Deploy AI-forward workflows, architecting how we use AI and automation alongside traditional CS tooling, from health scoring to productivity and scale tooling for the team.
What you need to be successful:
Based in San Francisco or New York City, with willingness to travel across Americas, EMEA, and APJC.
3rd-line or higher customer success leadership experience at a high-growth B2B software company.
Proven track record scaling a global CS function across Americas, EMEA, and APJC, across multiple customer segments simultaneously.
Deep experience building and running post-sales motions for technical buyer personas in the CTO's and/or CIO's org.
Strong command of account health scoring, leading indicators, and churn/contraction forecasting.
Track record delivering best-in-class GRR and NRR metrics at scale (hundreds of millions of ARR under management).
AI-forward mindset with direct experience deploying AI-driven orchestrations alongside traditional CS tooling to drive team efficiency and productivity.

Expansion Account Manager
You'll meet some of the world's fastest-growing startups when they've got five engineers - and you'll be the reason they're still with us when they've got five hundred.
What that looks like day to day
As an Expansion Account Manager at incident.io, you're picking up the relationship with companies like Vanta, Linear and Vercel - the ones who started small and won't stay that size for long.
You own a book of commercial customers end to end, and your job is simple to say and hard to do: keep them, and grow them. That means spotting where a team's usage is outgrowing their plan, knowing when an account is ready to grow into more of what we offer, and being the person who makes expansion feel like the obvious next step rather than a sales pitch.
You'll work closest with CS and the wider GTM team - CS to understand what's actually happening inside an account, GTM to make sure what you're learning feeds back into how we sell and expand across the customer base - but you'll pull in Sales and Product whenever an account needs it.
We're AI-forward here, and this role is no exception. You'll use AI to build account plans faster, catch expansion signals before they're obvious, and draft outreach that still sounds like you wrote it. We're not asking you to trust a black box - we want you testing what works and pushing us to get better at it.
Who you are
You've done the expansion side of account management before - you know the difference between growing an account and just keeping it, and you've got the renewal conversations to prove it.
A CTO or VP pushing back doesn't rattle you - if anything, you enjoy the conversation more when they know exactly what they're asking for.
You don't quit when a deal gets hard. The tricky ones are the ones you remember, not the ones you avoid.
You're genuinely into AI tooling - not because it's trendy, but because you like pulling apart a workflow to see if there's a faster way to do it.
You want to see the number move because of something you did. Revenue isn't abstract to you, it's the scoreboard.
There's no fixed playbook for this segment yet, and that excites you rather than worries you -you want to be the person tweaking it, not waiting for someone else to.
Startup life suits you. You're fine building the plane while flying it, as long as you get to help design it.
Supporting you
We work hard and we think life outside work matters just as much. Our benefits pack is built to support both.

Delivering a world-class customer experience for inbound support questions over Slack and Pylon
Acting as the voice of the customer, by capturing product feedback and feature requests for Product and Engineering

We've raised $96 million from Index Ventures, Insight Partners, and Point Nine, and we're growing fast. There's never been a better time to join.
The role in one line
Solutions Engineering at incident.io is where the product meets the moment it's built for - you're the person who turns "we'll see" into "oh, this actually works," proving live that we hold up exactly when it matters most.
What that looks like day to day
As a Solutions Engineer at incident.io, you're the technical voice in the room from first discovery call through to close, partnering closely with our Account Executives across the commercial segment. You'll be in front of some of the most exciting companies we sell into, running demos that need to hold up under real scrutiny - because the people you're presenting to have felt what it's like when tools fall over during an incident, and they're not going to be won over by a slide deck.
This function is still being built, which means there's real room to bring your own ideas to the table and help shape how Solutions Engineering works at incident, not just execute a playbook someone else wrote. You'll report into our Solutions Engineering Manager - our founding Solutions Engineer - and the wider segment sits under our co-founder and Field CTO, so you'll have direct access to people who've done this from the ground up.
You'll occasionally work alongside our TSEs and Product team, though that's the exception rather than the rule - most of your time is spent partnered tightly with AEs, going deep on a prospect's world before you ever get in the room.
We're AI-forward, and that's not just a talking point here - you'll be demoing our new AI-native product, and testing and shaping how AI shows up in your own workflow too. From this role, the natural next step is into our Enterprise segment, working with bigger, more complex accounts once you've proven yourself in commercial.
Who you are
You've been a Solutions Engineer before, and you've stood in front of senior stakeholders and run demos that actually landed - not just clicked through slides.
You have a genuine interest in code and solving hard technical problems - not because a job spec told you to, but because you can't help yourself.
You operate with high ownership - if something needs sorting, you don't wait to be asked.
You want to know this product inside and out, not just enough to get through a demo.
When a technical objection comes up and you don't have the answer, it bugs you until you find it - that's when you're at your best.
Thriving under pressure is your normal, not your exception - the moments when everything's on the line are the moments you show up hardest.
You want to build something, not just execute someone else's playbook - this function is still taking shape, and you want a say in what it becomes.
Supporting you
We work hard and we think life outside work matters just as much. Our benefits pack is built to support both.

We've raised $96 million from Index Ventures, Insight Partners, and Point Nine, and we're growing fast. There's never been a better time to join.
The role in one line
Commercial AE is where incident.io's growth gets made real - you're in front of the most ambitious digital-native companies out there, and the deals you close show up in the trajectory of the whole business.
What that looks like day to day
This is a full-cycle AE role with a strong outbound bias. Yes, inbound comes in - but the AEs who thrive here are the ones who don't wait for it. You'll own your own pipeline from the ground up, building target lists, running creative outreach campaigns, and picking up the phone without being asked twice. Outbound here is a craft, not a numbers game.
You'll be selling into VP Engineering, CTO, and SRE leaders at some of the most forward-thinking digital-native companies in the world. Deals typically land in the $40k–$50k range with a clear path into six figures, and a sales cycle of around 45 days means you're moving fast and closing regularly.
We run a pod model - you'll work closely with a BDR and Solutions Engineer rather than whoever happens to be free. That means real partnerships, shared context, and accountability that goes both ways. You'll also work alongside CS from early in the deal, which means handoffs that don't lose the thread.
What makes the selling here different is the product and the story behind it. incident.io is an AI-native platform built by engineers, for engineers - our founders have been on-call, they've felt the 2am page, and they built something to fix it. When you're in a room with a CTO or an SRE lead, you're not pitching software - you're talking to someone about a problem they've lived, and you understand it. That's the edge.
AEs here are AI-forward in how they operate - whether that's building business cases, running research, or finding smarter ways to work a territory. We expect you to bring ideas, not just execute a playbook.
The progression is real. Commercial AEs have moved into Enterprise and into management - and we'll be straight with you about what the path looks like and what it takes to get there.
Who you are
You've closed deals at a similar size and pace before - $40k–$50k ACV, sub-60-day cycles - and you've got the numbers to back it up.
Outbound doesn't feel like a chore to you. You see it as a craft - you build your own lists, think creatively about how to get in front of the right people, and don't rely on a sequence template to do the work for you.
You're genuinely curious about what it's like to be an on-call engineer. Not just the technical side - the stress, the 2am pages, the pressure of being the person whose job it is to fix things fast. That empathy shows up in how you sell.
You can hold a technical conversation without leaning on your SE every time. You'll have support when you need it, but you're comfortable going deep on your own.
You're scrappy in the best sense - you don't wait for resources, you figure it out. A bigger company with more tools, more inbound, and more hand-holding would actually frustrate you.
You pick up the phone. Cold calling doesn't make you wince, and a voicemail doesn't derail your afternoon.
-
Startup life genuinely appeals to you - not as a stepping stone, but because you want to be somewhere your work is visible and your impact is real.
Supporting you
We work hard and we think life outside work matters just as much. Our benefits pack is built to support both.

We've raised $96 million from Index Ventures, Insight Partners, and Point Nine, and we're growing fast. There's never been a better time to join.
The role in one line
Being a BDR at incident.io means learning to sell from some of the best in the business, while representing a product and account team that make every conversation an easy one to be proud of.
What that looks like day to day
Cold calling is the heart of this role, and most of our meetings get booked over the phone — not because it's easy, but because it's still the fastest way to build real trust with a prospect. We don't copy-paste templates, and we don't spam: every call and every piece of outreach is backed by careful research and planning alongside the AEs you partner with, so the person on the other end knows you're not a random dial — or a bot.
We're founded by engineers, and that shows up in how BDRs work too — everyone gets unlimited Claude tokens, and our head of business development is a former RevOps leader himself, so there's a real emphasis on testing, measuring, and optimizing your own workflow like an engineer would, not just running the same script on repeat.
BDRs are the bench for our wider GTM team, and your progress here matters beyond just you — it's how we keep the whole GTM engine strong. The path to AE is real, and for those who put in the work, that next step can come faster than you'd expect elsewhere — with the strength of the peer group you're learning from making all the difference.
Who you are
You've got a strong why. Whatever got you here — sport, a career switch, a BDR track record that deserved the promotion you didn't get last time — you know exactly what you're chasing, and that's what gets you through the hard days.
Cold calling doesn't scare you. A "no" doesn't ruin your afternoon — it's just the next dial.
You're genuinely curious about people. You want to know what's keeping a VP of Engineering up at night, not just whether they'll take a meeting.
You can write. Not novels — just outreach someone actually wants to open and reply to.
You run toward the hard thing. Given the choice between the easy route and the challenging one, you take the challenging one, because you know that's where the bigger payoff is.
You're always looking for a better way to work, and that includes using AI properly — testing new tools and workflows, not just running the same playbook because it's familiar.
Startup life suits you. Things change, the odd thing is on fire, and you're fine figuring it out as you go with people around to help.
Supporting you
We work hard and we think life outside work matters just as much. Our benefits pack is built to support both.

The role in one line
This is a team of talented enterprise sellers who don't need someone to teach them the basics — they need someone who's closed deals like theirs and can help them close bigger ones.
What that looks like day to day
Most of your impact here comes from two places: being genuinely hands-on in deals, and coaching the people running them. This isn't a step-back-and-build-process role, at least not primarily — it's a step-in one.
You're picking this team up at an interesting moment. Your counterpart on the other first-line team just got promoted into a first-line manager role elsewhere in the business, which means we need someone who can prove out what great first-line management looks like at this stage. Do that well, and it's what allows our Head of Enterprise Sales (who reports into the CRO) to properly step into a second-line, more strategic role instead of still being pulled into the weeds.
You'll also be building top-of-funnel with your team, not just managing what lands on their desk. Product, Marketing, and CS are tight cross-functional partners here, not departments you loop in occasionally — they work in lockstep with sales.
AI is a genuinely serious part of how this team operates, not a box to tick. We're a small team founded by engineers, with a highly accessible C-suite that's close to the work. We want someone who's properly AI-pilled — using AI seriously in how you sell and coach, not just talking about it.
As we scale, we look from within first. Second-line opportunities and beyond open up as the team continues to hit — or exceed — its targets.
Who you are
You've closed true enterprise deals yourself — ideally selling to digital natives and technical buyers — so you know exactly what a rep needs from you in the final stretch of a close, not just the theory of it.
When a deal slips or the forecast goes sideways, you're the steady one — not the one adding to the panic.
You help reps learn from a mistake and come back stronger, rather than just flagging that it happened.
You get real satisfaction from watching someone else level up — coaching isn't a chore for you, it's the good part of the job.
You push harder on process, especially around building top-of-funnel, because you know a strong pipeline motion doesn't happen by accident.
You're hands-on in deals when it matters, and you know what to look for in the last few steps of a close.
You don't coast into an established team — you're here to raise the bar, even when the team's already good.
