About Exa
We raised a $250M Series C to build the search engine for AIs. Led by a16z, with existing investors Benchmark, Lightspeed, and YC doubling down, the round brings Exa's valuation to $2.2 billion.
Exa is building a search engine for the AI era. Our Search API currently powers Agents, Fortune 500s and AI labs as we transform an industry that hasn't been disrupted since the 90s. We're a largely SF-based team of ~100 from Harvard, MIT, Meta, Google Research, ex-founders & dropouts alike.
We are rapidly building the most intelligent search engine in history. We're high agency, low-ego, and united by the feeling that this is one of the last problems worth getting right.
We are looking for a Field Event Manager based in London to build our presence across EMEA.
About the Role
This is our first dedicated field marketing hire in Europe. You will build the EMEA program from a near-blank page: deciding which markets matter first, what formats work in each, and how a fast-moving American AI infrastructure company earns credibility with European enterprise buyers who will not be rushed.
You own the regional program, not just its logistics. That means the strategic call about London versus Paris versus Amsterdam versus Munich, the choice between a hosted dinner and a conference presence, and the judgment about what a room of senior technical buyers in each market will actually attend. You will execute all of it to a high standard, often as the only marketing person in the country.
The operating reality matters here. You will work across time zones with an SF-based team, navigate local vendors and contracts, and handle the regulatory and cultural differences that make European field marketing distinct from a US playbook copied across the Atlantic.
This role is based in-person in London, with regular travel across EMEA and periodic trips to our San Francisco HQ.
What You'll Own
EMEA program strategy
Own the regional plan: market prioritization, format mix, account coverage, and quarterly sequencing. Build it with EMEA sales and defend it with a pipeline rationale. Success is measured by program quality and by pipeline sourced and influenced across the region.
End-to-end execution across markets
Own every event from concept to wrap in multiple countries: venue, vendors, catering, production, invitations, run of show, on-site management, and the local details that differ market to market. Success is measured by attendance of the right people and by execution that never becomes the story.
Sales partnership and account-based events
Own the working relationship with EMEA sellers: target accounts, invitation strategy, in-deal events, and the choreography that turns a conversation into a next meeting. Success is measured by meetings generated and by seller demand for your programs.
Pipeline outcomes and follow-through
Own what happens after the event: lead capture, timely handoff, and the follow-up motion in partnership with Lifecycle Marketing and Marketing Ops, including consent and data handling under GDPR. Success is measured by conversion from attendee to qualified opportunity.
Regional budget, vendors, and compliance
Own budget, vendor contracts and negotiation in multiple currencies, and the practical compliance layer: GDPR consent capture, invoicing, and local requirements. Success is measured by program impact per dollar and by clean data practices.
Building the EMEA playbook
Own the documented approach that future European hires will inherit: what works by market, vendor relationships, and the local knowledge that would otherwise live only in your head.
AI-first operations
Use AI to compress the operational load: targeting, personalized outreach at scale, vendor and market research, translation support, run-of-show generation, and post-event summarization. One person covering a continent only works if the busywork is automated.
What Success Looks Like
A credible EMEA program exists where none did, with the right buyers in the room.
EMEA sellers actively request and co-own events because they see the pipeline.
Every event has a follow-up motion that runs on time and handles consent correctly.
We know which European markets deserve more investment and which do not, based on evidence.
Execution quality is high enough that logistics are invisible, in every market.
The playbook you build makes the next European hire faster than you were.
What This Role Does Not Own
Global field marketing strategy, budget allocation across regions, and program standards: Field Marketing Leader.
Email, nurture sequences, and webinar platform operations: Lifecycle Marketing.
Developer hackathons, meetups, and community events: Developer Relations.
Speaker content, pitch narrative, and messaging: Product Marketing.
Press and executive speaking placements: Communications.
CRM configuration, routing, and attribution methodology: Marketing Operations and RevOps.
Who You Are
4+ years in field marketing or event marketing at a B2B technology company, with ownership of a multi-country European program rather than execution of someone else's.
Deep event craft: you can walk us through a run of show, tell us what you check at 4pm before a 6pm start, and describe the last thing that went wrong and how you covered it.
Genuine EMEA market knowledge: you know how buyer behavior, venue norms, and attendance expectations differ between the markets you have worked in.
A real pipeline orientation. You have carried or contributed to a number and can talk about cost per qualified attendee without flinching.
Evidence of strong sales partnership, including how you handled a seller who wanted something you thought was a bad idea.
Comfort operating semi-autonomously with a headquarters in another time zone, and the initiative that requires.
Practical fluency with GDPR as it applies to event data and marketing consent.
AI-native working habits: you use AI to remove operational load and can show us how.
Nice to Have
Experience launching a region from zero at an early-stage or US-headquartered company.
Additional European languages.
Experience running events for a technical or developer audience alongside enterprise buyers.
Conference sponsorship negotiation with major European technology events.
Experience running executive roundtables for senior technical leaders in multiple countries.
Benefits
Health and wellness: Premium medical coverage, plus a monthly wellness benefit tiered by location.
Fertility and family planning: Reimbursement for eligible egg freezing and related medical expenses up to a $15,000 lifetime maximum, plus 16 weeks of fully paid parental leave for all new parents, whether through birth, adoption, surrogacy, or foster placement.
Life at Exa: Our SF office serves lunch and dinner daily, with snacks, coffee, fresh bread from a local bakery, weekly milk tea, monthly picnics, and parties to celebrate the wins (and each other). You'll visit often.
Visa sponsorship: We sponsor visas for exceptional candidates and welcome applicants from all backgrounds and locations.

We are looking for a Developer Advocate who builds real things with our API and can make other developers want to build them too.
About the Role
This is an engineer's job with an audience. You'll spend your time building: reference apps, demos, integrations, and the small sharp examples that make a developer understand in thirty seconds what Exa unlocks for their agent. Then you'll show how it works, in talks, streams, workshops, repos, and wherever developers gather.
You should already be building with LLMs, agents, and retrieval, and you should be able to talk to a staff engineer about where their pipeline is failing without hedging. Communication is the other key. We need someone who does both building and presenting, with good taste for production values both on stage and in videos.
You'll work closely with the Head of DevRel on community and ecosystem programs, and with Technical PMM on repurposing what you build into content for SEO and AEO.
This role is in-person, at either our San Francisco HQ or in New York office.
What You'll Own
Demos and reference applications
Own a growing library of working code that shows Exa at its best: reference agents, integration examples, and demos built for specific developer use cases. Success is measured by usage, forks, and whether developers cite them as the reason they got started.
Technical talks and workshops
Be a teacher, both in-person and on video. Represent Exa at conference talks, meetups, workshops, hackathons, and streams. Success is measured by quality of delivery and by developers who start building after seeing you.
Community presence and support
Be genuinely useful in public forums: answering questions, unblocking developers, participating in the communities where our users are, and being a recognizable helpful presence rather than a promotional astroturfer. Success is measured by response quality and audience trust.
Integration work
Build and maintain integrations with the frameworks and tools developers use, in partnership with the Head of DevRel who owns the partner relationships. Success is measured by integrations that stay working as upstream changes.
Developer feedback
Carry friction back to Product and Engineering with the specificity only a builder can provide: what broke, where you got stuck, and what a new developer would abandon. Success is measured by fixes shipped because you reported them well.
What Success Looks Like
A steady stream of working demos that developers actually clone and run.
Talks and workshops that convert attention into first API calls.
Developers recognize you as helpful in the communities that matter to us.
Integrations we own stay healthy, not abandoned after launch.
Product hears about developer friction from you before it shows up in churn.
Marketing and sales pull your demos into their material because they are the clearest thing we have.
What This Role Does Not Own
Community strategy, ecosystem partnerships, and DevRel program direction: Head of Developer Relations.
Blog strategy and organic discovery: Technical PMM for Content.
Product roadmap and API design: Product and Engineering.
Press, social channels, and executive speaking: Communications.
Paid channels, website, and funnel mechanics: Digital Marketing.
Who You Are
3+ years as a software engineer, developer advocate, or a mix, with code you can show us.
Real fluency in the AI stack. You have built with LLMs, agents, and retrieval, and you can speak about what worked and what didn't.
Public artifacts: repos, talks, streams, tutorials, or side projects. We care more about what you've shipped and shown than where you worked.
Strong live communication. You can teach something technical to a room and hold their attention.
Genuine enthusiasm for helping other developers, including the unglamorous version of that in a support thread at 9pm.
Comfort working in public and taking technical criticism without getting defensive.
AI-native working habits: you build with AI tooling daily and have opinions about where it falls short.
Nice to Have
Open source contributions developers would recognize.
Experience at an API-first or developer tools company.
A following or reputation in the AI developer community.
Experience running workshops or hackathon mentoring.
Range beyond code: video, writing, or design skills that make your demos land harder.
Benefits
Health and wellness: Premium medical, dental, and vision coverage, plus a monthly wellness benefit and a monthly commuter benefit for our SF team.
Fertility and family planning: Reimbursement for eligible egg freezing and related medical expenses up to a $15,000 lifetime maximum, plus 16 weeks of fully paid parental leave for all new parents, whether through birth, adoption, surrogacy, or foster placement.

We are rapidly building the most intelligent search engine in history. We're high agency, low-ego, and united by the feeling that this is one of the last problems worth getting right.
We are looking for a Head of Developer Relations to make Exa the search layer developers reach for by default.
About the Role
Every agent needs to retrieve information, and the developer building that agent makes the call about how. Our job is to make that decision easy: in the frameworks they're using, in the communities where they're engaging, and in the talks or demos that showed them what perfect search can do.
Community and evangelism sit at the center of this role, running memorable events and hackathons, and building a base of people who advocate for Exa because the product earned it. Alongside that, you own the ecosystem, getting Exa integrated into the frameworks, developer tools, and platforms our users already build on.
You are the first dedicated DevRel leader, so you'll build the function. You’ll hire and coach developer advocates, but you will also stay hands-on. The credibility of this role rests on your ability to build and demo.
This role is based in-person at our San Francisco HQ.
What You'll Own
Developer community and evangelism
Own how Exa shows up in the developer world: community spaces, hackathons, meetups, conference talks, open source presence, and the day-to-day of being useful to developers in public. Success is measured by active community engagement and by developer awareness in our target segments.
Ecosystem and integration partnerships
Own the technical partnerships that put Exa inside the tools developers already use: agent frameworks, orchestration libraries, IDEs and coding agents, and platform integrations. Drive these from first conversation through shipped, documented, maintained integration. Success is measured by integrations live and by developer adoption flowing through them.
Developer awareness and advocacy
Own the programs that turn users into advocates: champions, ambassadors, community contributors, and the developers who build impressive things on Exa and get amplified for it. Success is measured by third-party content and advocacy we did not pay for.
Developer education and demos
Own reference applications, demos, workshops, and technical talks. You partner with Technical PMM, who owns the blog and organic content, while you own the material that gets built and shown live.
Team building
Hire, lead, and set the bar for a growing DevRel team. Success is measured by the caliber of the people you attract and by whether they ship without you in the room.
Product feedback loop
Own the channel that carries developer friction back to Product and Engineering: onboarding drop-off, API ergonomics, documentation gaps, and the things developers try that do not work. Success is measured by fixes shipped.
What Success Looks Like
Developers building agents know Exa, and can name what it does better than the alternatives.
Exa is a first-class integration in the frameworks that matter, with usage to show for it.
A real community exists, with contributors and advocates who are not on payroll.
Demos and talks from this team are the material sales and marketing want to use.
Developer friction gets fixed faster because someone owns carrying it inward.
The function scales beyond you with a productive and cohesive team.
What This Role Does Not Own
Benchmarks, and organic discovery content: Technical PMM for Content.
Commercial partnerships, marketplaces, co-marketing, and customer case studies: Customer & Partner Marketing.
Press, analyst relations, and executive speaking placements: Communications.
Paid acquisition, website, and self-serve funnel mechanics: Digital Marketing.
Enterprise events and pipeline programs: Field Marketing.
Product roadmap and API design decisions: Product and Engineering.
Who You Are
6+ years across developer relations, developer marketing, or engineering with a substantial public presence, including time at a company selling an API or developer platform.
Deep craft as a communicator to developers: talks, workshops, streams, or writing you can point to, and a live demo you are proud of.
Engineering credibility with the AI stack. You build with LLMs, agents, and retrieval, and you can hold a technical conversation with engineers.
A track record building community from an early stage.
Experience driving ecosystem or integration partnerships to shipped code, working with partner engineering teams and getting your integration maintained rather than merged and abandoned.
Experience hiring or mentoring DevRel talent, and a point of view on what separates good from great.
Judgment about measurement: you can defend how DevRel creates value.
Nice to Have
Open source maintainer experience or meaningful contributions developers would recognize.
Experience at a company that grew primarily through developer adoption.
Existing presence in the AI and agent developer community.
Experience running a hackathon or developer conference program at scale.
Time as a professional software engineer before moving into DevRel.

We raised a $250M Series C led by a16z — with Benchmark, Lightspeed, and YC doubling down — bringing Exa's valuation to $2.2 billion.
The role
Revenue Systems & Technology at Exa is about building the operational backbone that powers our entire GTM engine — from first touch to renewal. You'll architect and build Exa's revenue technology stack from the ground up: CRM, marketing ops, sales engagement, customer success, forecasting, conversational intelligence, and the data layer that ties them together.
We're hiring someone to build this shoulder-to-shoulder with the GTM team so we can scale faster and operate sharper. You'll own the architecture end-to-end, working closely with Sales, Marketing, CS, Finance, and Engineering to turn a greenfield stack — no legacy debt, no inherited Frankenstein — into the system that carries Exa from early scaling through IPO.
This is a builder seat, not a Salesforce-admin role. Expect to operate with autonomy on the systems you own — and to build them with an AI-native mindset, not stitch together point solutions.
What you'll do
• Architect and ship Exa's end-to-end revenue tech stack: CRM (Salesforce), sales engagement, customer success, CPQ/billing, forecasting, conversational intelligence — unified by one extensible data layer. • Integrate the marketing ops (MOPS) stack into the revenue layer for pipeline tracking and intent scoring, even as MOPS itself sits with the marketing team.
• Own the CRM end-to-end: object model, automation, approval workflows, pipeline configuration, forecasting methodology, data hygiene.
• Deploy AI agents across the customer journey: lead routing, deal scoring, next-best-action, real-time pipeline risk detection, renewal and expansion signals.
• Build the infrastructure that lets those agents run reliably at scale: structured data pipelines, event-driven triggers, API orchestration, feedback loops.
• Own build-vs-buy. Default to open, composable platforms; add a middleware layer so new tools plug in cleanly instead of piling up tech debt.
• Keep a canonical data model across every GTM system so analytics, reporting, and agents all run off one source of truth.
• Stand up forecasting and pipeline analytics: stage velocity, conversion, segment health, and the leading indicators that feed weekly business reviews and board reporting.
• Build the dashboards that give Revenue Leadership real-time visibility into pipeline, forecast trajectory, and customer health.
• Collaborate in building out the Revenue Systems team over time.
Who you are
• You've architected revenue systems end-to-end (sales ops, rev ops, or GTM systems) at high-growth B2B companies — 10+ years, with 5+ owning the stack yourself.
• Deep Salesforce: you've built instances from scratch and scaled them through hypergrowth. You think in objects, relationships, and automation rules, not admin screens.
• You build for extensibility, data integrity, and composability, with strong opinions on canonical data models and when to build vs. buy.
• You've designed and deployed AI-powered, agentic workflows inside GTM systems — architecting custom agent-driven processes, not just toggling vendor features.
• You're comfortable as both architect and builder in a high-velocity startup where priorities shift regularly: design a system, ship it yourself, and scale a team around it.
Bonus
• You've built GTM systems for companies selling developer tools, APIs, or data infrastructure to engineering-led buyers.
• You've supported both product-led growth (self-serve API adoption, usage-based pricing) and enterprise sales within a single architecture.
• You know consumption- or usage-based billing and the complexity it introduces across CRM, CPQ, and revenue recognition.
• You've built and scaled revenue systems infrastructure through an IPO or major liquidity event.
This is an in-person opportunity in San Francisco. We're happy to sponsor international candidates (e.g., STEM OPT, OPT, H1B, O1, E3). In addition to premium healthcare benefits (medical, dental, vision), we also offer fertility benefits and a monthly wellness stipend to all of our employees.
Exa is an equal opportunity employer. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, creed, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, disability, age, veteran status, marital status, pregnancy or related conditions, criminal histories consistent with applicable law, or any other basis protected by applicable law.

Exa is building a search engine for the AI era. Our Search API currently powers Agents, Fortune 500s and AI labs as we transform an industry that hasn’t been disrupted since the 90s. We're a largely SF-based team of ~100 from Harvard, MIT, Meta, Google Research, ex-founders & dropouts alike.
We are rapidly building the most intelligent search engine in history. We’re high agency, low-ego, and united by the feeling that this is one of the last problems worth getting right.
The role
The Head of Cloud Partnerships at Exa is focused on extracting maximum distribution from the highest-leverage infrastructure in the AI ecosystem. They own one of Exa's most critical distribution layers: the hyperscaler clouds (AWS, GCP, Azure) and frontier model labs (OpenAI, Anthropic, and others). These partners are the infrastructure through which AI is built and deployed, and Exa's depth of integration here is a direct multiplier on revenue and reach.
You'll own the full relationship stack with each partner: from executive alignment and technical integrations to marketplace presence, co-sell motions with their AEs, and joint launches. Expect to operate with founder-level autonomy and a mandate to make Exa the gold standard partner across these channels..
What you'll do
- Own the outcomes for your portfolio: depth of integration, marketplace listings, sourced and co-sold pipeline, and revenue contribution against ambitious quarterly targets.
- Run the AWS partnership end-to-end: relationship management with PDMs and partner AEs, AWS Marketplace listing and optimization, co-sell activation, field presence at AWS events, and joint outbound with their field teams.
- Eventually scale hyperscaler motions with GCP and Azure: replicate and adapt the AWS playbook across their partner ecosystems, marketplace programs, and co-sell workflows.
- Own frontier lab partnerships with OpenAI and Anthropic: joint solutioning with their applied and forward-deployed teams, tool catalog and plugin listings (GPT store, Claude tools, etc.), integration QA and eval support, and joint launches.
- Expand to additional frontier labs and AI platform partners as the ecosystem evolves.
- Drive co-marketing across the portfolio: joint launches, blog posts, demos, and conference moments in lockstep with partner marketing teams.
- Bring the voice of the partner back into product: what their field is seeing, what their customers are building, what's about to change in their stack before we feel it ourselves.
Who You Are
- You've owned cloud or platform partnerships end-to-end at a high-velocity company and can point to specific relationships you built and activated to measurable revenue outcomes.
- You have direct experience partnering with AWS: you know how their partner organization operates, have navigated the co-sell motion, and understand AWS Marketplace mechanics (ISV Accelerate, PDM relationships, APN co-sell).
- You can pick up technical concepts fast (APIs, agent stacks, retrieval, eval workflows) and represent them confidently to partner field engineers, FDEs, and AEs.
- You're comfortable in a high-velocity startup where the portfolio evolves quickly and prioritization decisions sit with you.
Nice to Have
- Broad experience across multiple hyperscaler platforms: GCP Partner Advantage, Microsoft Azure Marketplace, and familiarity with how their co-sell motions and partner incentive structures differ from AWS.
- Existing relationships inside OpenAI, Anthropic, or other frontier labs.
- You've navigated marketplace listings and co-sell programs across more than one cloud platform and have a point of view on what makes listings actually convert.

About the Role
New York City is central to Exa's growth strategy and home to many of our enterprise buyers. Teams in financial services, media, consulting, and beyond are making critical decisions about how their AI agents will retrieve information, and you will play a key role in how they discover Exa. As the first Field Marketer on the East Coast, you will own how these buyers experience our brand and interact with our team, through highly strategic, thoughtfully crafted events.
This is a rare, founding team member opportunity: you'll build a regional program from the ground up, shape how buyers experience our brand, and will shape field strategy at a pivotal time for Exa. This is an incredible fit for someone who sweats the details, lives to create world-class experiences, and obsesses over how to drive pipeline from every touchpoint. You will own the regional program, identifying opportunities to build brand awareness and drive pipeline through a mix of high-hospitality and lead generating events including: executive dinners, networking receptions, hackathons, third-party sponsorships, partner events, and more. You'll partner strategically with Account Executives and SDRs to build an event plan that delivers coverage across your territory and key accounts.
Our bar is high and our north star is to establish Exa as a world-class brand. Our team embraces gathering new learnings in order to optimize future events and processes, while staying focused on our pursuit to drive ever increasing pipeline. If this sounds exciting to you, we'd love to meet you!
This role is based in person in New York City, with regular travel across the East Coast and periodic trips to our San Francisco HQ.
What You Will Own
Regional program strategy. Own the plan for your territory, deciding which formats, cities, audiences, and investments will meet our pipeline goals each quarter. Co-build the plan with input from sales and defend it with pipeline rationale. Success is measured by program quality and by pipeline sourced and influenced in the region.
End-to-end execution. Own every event from concept to post-event follow-up: sourcing venues, orchestrating vendors and production, managing invitations and the run of show, overseeing on-site execution, and sweating every detail. Success is measured by the number of qualified attendees and by nailing execution.
Sales partnership and account targeting alignment. Establish and maintain tight sales partnerships, align with sales to get the right personas and accounts to each event and create effective event playbooks that convert to pipeline. Success is measured by meetings generated and by the number of target accounts engaged through your programs.
Pipeline outcomes and follow-through. Own what happens during and after the event: ensuring timely lead handoff and building the follow-up sequence in partnership with SDRs, Lifecycle Marketing, and Marketing Ops. Success is measured by conversion from attendee to qualified opportunity.
Budget and vendors. Own your regional budget, vendor selection and negotiation, and cost per qualified lead. Success is measured by program impact per dollar.
AI-first operations. Use AI to compress operational timelines: invite-list development, personalized outreach at scale, vendor research, run-of-show generation, and post-event summarization. You'll run a serious regional program because the busywork is automated.
Who You Are
4+ years of experience in field marketing or event marketing at a B2B technology company, including ownership of a regional program rather than execution of someone else's.
Deeply committed to event craft: You can walk us through a run of show, tell us what you check at 4pm before a 6pm start, and describe the last thing that went wrong at an event and how you fixed it.
Demonstrated ability to drive pipeline: You have owned a pipeline number and can speak to cost per qualified lead.
Evidence of strong sales partnership: You can speak to how you've built strong partnerships with sales counterparts in similar roles, including how you manage reps who push for something you know isn't the right investment.
Knowledge of the New York market: You have a finger on the pulse of the best venues, vendors, and event tactics that will draw an audience of senior technical buyers here.
Meticulous event budget and timeline management: You have both budget and vendor negotiation experience.
Upholds a growth mindset: You embrace feedback as a lever to fuel growth and see learnings as an opportunity to optimize for next time.
Experience using AI to drive efficiencies: You use AI daily to remove operational load, and can show us how.
Nice to Have
Experience running events for a technical or developer audience alongside enterprise buyers.
Experience at an early-stage company where you built the program rather than inherited it.
Experience developing booth designs and strategies that drive lead generation.
Familiarity with event tech (registration, badge scanning, on-site capture) and how it connects to CRM.
Experience crafting executive roundtables or advisory dinners for senior technical leaders.
Experience building reports to track event performance.
