Waymo’s Product Data Science team works cross-functionally with Engineering, Product and Operations to help the company make the most informed decisions using data. Our team collaborates on high-impact projects across the company — from driving quality and operational efficiency to market analysis and rider satisfaction scores — we help to safely and efficiently scale the Waymo Driver. We are data-driven, curious, open-minded, and adapt quickly to new information.
In this hybrid role, you will report to the Product Data Science Lead, Supply Operations.
You will:
- Define, build, and maintain KPIs and metrics to measure operational safety and quality across our Operations Center
- Architect and scale data infrastructure to support automated reporting for Road Rule Events, improving operational transparency and safety insights
- Quantify our operational capacity to handle events, providing actionable data to scale team performance and optimize response protocols
- Analyze agent response precision to identify performance patterns, optimize workflows, and provide input for AI model training
- Partner cross-functionally to translate business challenges into robust data pipelines and reporting solutions that drive operational resilience
You have:
- 8+ years of experience in a related technical field (or equivalent practical experience), with a proven track record of architecting and scaling projects
- Excellent communication and Stakeholder & Management skills: You can communicate clearly complex topic in an easy to understand way to stakeholders at all levels of the company
- Extensive experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines
- Action Oriented Analytical mindset - you not only build the report, you look at your data and make actionable recommendations from it
We prefer:
- Experience in the Autonomous Vehicle industry or a strong background in engineering or physics
- Experience working with Operations
The expected base salary range for this full-time position across US locations is listed below. The Demand Operations & Service Quality team drives conversion, retention and utilization within local markets via metrics design and oversight, issue mitigation, and key demand opportunities. The Ops Analyst, Demand Operations & Service Quality will provide analytical and operational support across the entirety of the Demand Ops & Service Quality team, with a focus on understanding top rider pain points, building dashboards for Ops Managers to self-serve data, investigating escalated metrics, and supporting marketplace enablement.
This role reports to the Head of Demand Operations & Service Quality.
You will:
Lead analytical reporting cadences for the Demand & Service Quality Operations team - preparing key reports, diagnosing issues, and identifying opportunities for improvement
Drive key projects to deep dive on operational challenges and improve business outcomes; support local operations managers with insights to elevate the service in their markets
Design and develop metrics & dashboards to enable operations managers to understand and self-serve data; leverage AI to improve data analysis efficiency
Create opportunities to upskill local operations managers in data analysis
Communicate business results and insights to cross-functional partners and leadership
Partner with cross-functional teams (e.g., Product Data Science, Product Management, User Research, etc.) to gain alignment on opportunities
You have:
5-10 years of experience in analytical roles, with a keen interest in advocating for the solutions your analysis produces
Analytical rigor: Exceptional data visualization, quantitative, and analytical modeling skills (e.g., expert level in SQL, Excel / Google Sheets required) and the ability to build data-driven business cases to make operational improvements
Strong communication skills: Exhibit comfort presenting to senior leadership and mastery in collaborating across stakeholder groups
Bridge between data & operations: Ability to bridge gaps between Data Science and Operations teams to ensure insights drive operational success and continuous improvement
Curiosity! Unending curiosity about the metrics you set out to investigate and a desire to keep pulling the thread until you’ve figured out what’s going on
Comfort with Ambiguity: Thrive in a "0 to 1" environment by bringing structure to messy, undefined data and building foundational reporting frameworks from the ground up.
Knowledge Multiplier: Go beyond individual contribution by serving as our analytics expert and teaching our team how to effectively deploy AI tools to upskill and elevate our collective data literacy.
Bachelor’s degree (Business, Operations, Data Science, Mathematics or related field).
We prefer:
Experience in a high-growth technology or mobility company
Expert-level SQL skills to query and model complex datasets, with experience building intuitive, ad hoc dashboards for operational self-service
Familiarity with Python, R, or similar statistical programming languages is a plus
Previous leveraging data to drive operational improvements
Previous experience in AV, mobility technology, urban planning or transportation.
Travel requirements:
Candidates should be willing and able to travel up to 10% to visit local markets.

Waymo's Product Data Science team works cross-functionally with Engineering, Product and Operations to help the company make the most informed decisions using data. This role follows a hybrid work schedule and you will report to the Manager of Product Data Science.
You will:
Mine, triage, and analyze data from disparate, large-scale sources to extract insights that help evaluate driving scenarios and support onboard release deployment
Partner with Product Managers, Engineers, Program Managers to identify the right measurements for product performance and prioritization
Design and implement foundational data pipelines, and build the right reports and visualizations to drive insights
Develop a deep understanding of various metrics, datasets, and data sources in relation to self-driving vehicle releases and the product roadmap
Organize, develop, and contribute to signals and heuristics that capture targeted driving behaviors and scenarios
Drive a culture of excellence and help establish best practices within the broader data science team
You have:
5+ years of experience in a related technical field (or equivalent practical experience), with a proven track record of managing stakeholder relationships and prioritizing multiple projects
Ability to scope, structure, and solve ambiguous problems from end to end by creating clear analysis plans
Strong data intuition and statistical knowledge, with the ability to translate disparate signals from large, diverse datasets into insights on vehicle behavior
Coding experience with SQL to design and implement complex data pipelines following best practices
Strong attention to detail

Our Driver may be autonomous, but Waymo's finances are steered by experts like you. The Finance and Accounting group manages all aspects of our finances and serves as trusted advisors for all our strategic and enterprise endeavors. Along with managing compilation of our financial statements, looking after our cash and overseeing compliance, we partner closely with the business in overseeing company wide resource allocation, developing cutting edge compensation initiatives and generating detailed financial analyses to drive the business forward. We also develop advanced capital strategies to support the company's short- and long-term future.
In this hybrid role, you will report to the Accounting Manager - Revenue, Technical Accounting, and Taxes.
You will:
- Be responsible for designing operational processes based on business needs (Leasing, Fixed Assets and Insurance)
- Identify control gaps / improvements in Leasing, Fixed Assets and Insurance
- Identify and resolve complex technical accounting issues quickly & accurately
- Manage the month-end and quarter-end close, including preparing balance sheet rollforwards, supporting schedules, footnotes, and disclosures
- Perform monthly and quarterly flux analysis and financial analytics, developing detailed reporting packages for leadership
- Identify opportunities to automate workflows for efficiency and accuracy, and effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., FP&A, Legal, Real Estate, Insurance, AP) to provide financial support
You have:
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field
- 4+ years of experience with a Big 4 accounting firm
- Ability to work cross‑functionally and handle ambiguity
- Detail‑orientation, strong analytical skills, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines
We prefer:
- Strong understanding of US GAAP, particularly in the areas of Leasing, Fixed Assets, and Insurance Accounting
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills; and ability to multitask in a dynamic environment;
- Proven ability to work in a cross-functional, fast-paced environment, and to lead and drive complex initiatives
- Proven experience in technical accounting research and documentation
- Experience in the tech industry or treasury
- Experience with SAP Cloud
Travel - 5% (1-2 trips per year)
