The mission of an Engineering Lead is to drive the healthy growth of the engineering organization. As an Engineering Lead for the Security team, you are expected to help with hiring high-caliber Engineers to support the growth of the team, mentor and collaborate with team members to work toward their career goals, and drive the processes that can sustain a high-performance engineering team. People make this organization and as an Engineering Lead, it is your mission to cultivate and contribute to Anchorage's culture, coach and mentor team members, help refine our roadmap and provide continuous support with our recruiting efforts.
The mission of an Engineering Lead for Security is to drive the healthy growth of a high-performing security engineering team. As an Engineering Lead, you are expected to hire for growth, create an environment of high ownership, and work with leadership to continuously improve our organization.
As an Engineering Lead for Security, you will refine our security roadmap, drive operational excellence in vulnerability management and incident response, create technology strategy for security automation, and use your influence to facilitate judgment and critical thinking in decision making across your organization.

Core Competencies:
8+ years of technical experience including full-time security engineering or software engineering, with 3+ years of leadership experience as a formal people manager
You have experience leading distributed teams, working cross-functionally across varying time zones
Deep understanding of security fundamentals including vulnerability management, incident response, security monitoring, and secure coding practices
You've maintained a "player-coach" skillset with the ability to provide technical guidance while managing people and processes
You genuinely enjoy learning new things and have a proven track record of diving below the surface when faced with uncertainty, understanding the "why" and the "how," not just the "what"
Technical Skills:
Demonstrate extensive knowledge across multiple security domains (vulnerability management, incident response, security monitoring, application security) with deep expertise in at least one area

You have demonstrated experience managing, mentoring, and growing a geographically distributed security engineering team
You have real-world experience building and maintaining security infrastructure, monitoring systems, and automation tools
Deep understanding of security fundamentals: vulnerability management, incident response, security monitoring, secure coding practices, cloud security, and network security
Ability to write scripting-level code in languages such as Python, Go, or bash
Experience with SIEM tools, security scanning, and monitoring platforms
You genuinely care about code quality, test infrastructure, and security best practices
You prioritize risk management, compliance requirements, and business value in decision-making
You have developed "computer science fundamentals" including concurrency, algorithms, and data structures (Formal CS degree NOT required)
You self-describe as some combination of the following: creative, humble, ambitious, detail-oriented, hardworking, trustworthy, eager to learn, methodical, action-oriented, and tenacious
Although not a requirement, bonus points if:
You have experience with applied cryptography
You have familiarity with common standards and frameworks such as OWASP, NIST, ISO27001, and SOC 2
Experience working in a regulated financial services environment
In your mind the word "crypto" stands for cryptography, not cryptocurrency
You read blockchain protocol white papers for fun, and stay up to date with the proliferation of cryptoasset innovations

As a Member of Client Operations, ACH you are responsible for supporting the day-to-day processing and reconciliation of client cash movements. In this role, you ensure an excellent operational experience by reviewing client transactions in a timely and accurate manner. You will become intimately familiar with the operations of our clients and their use of our platform. You will have a full understanding of our fiat operations, as well as the regulatory and operational considerations of each step. You will work closely with your Client Operations teammates to ensure processes and procedures are developed and continuously refined.

In this role you will:
Service institutional clients by managing operational tasks, developing and executing operational processes in support of our clients needs, and performing transaction reviews and approvals.
Execute and monitor the daily processing of client cash deposits, withdrawals, and transfers, primarily via ACH.
Perform timely and accurate reconciliation of cash accounts.
Investigate and resolve operational inquiries and issues related to cash transactions.
Ensure all processes adhere to established procedures and internal controls.
Maintain a strong understanding of relevant regulations, including Reg E and Dodd-Frank rules.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Client Experience, Sales, Compliance, and Product, to develop operational solutions to complex client requests.
Technical Skills:
Experience supporting operational needs of institutional clients in a financial services setting, with a familiarity with US Anti-Money Laundering (“AML”) requirements
Maintain an understanding of traditional financial services, products and strategies as required to provide support to Anchorage clients and the goals they have to implement their own strategies.
Capable of navigating and learning various systems and tools such as Salesforce, JIRA, Looker.
Ability to execute the end-to-end processing of fiat operations for institutional clients. This includes receiving, verifying, and reviewing ACH operations accurately and in a timely manner.

Demonstrate a keen ability to adapt and learn quickly as business strategies evolve and new products and tasks are introduced.

Machine intelligence will soon take over humanity’s role in knowledge-keeping and creation. What started in the mid-1990s as the gradual off-loading of knowledge and decision making to search engines will be rapidly replaced by vast neural networks - with all knowledge compressed into their artificial neurons. Unlike organic life, machine intelligence, built within silicon, needs protocols to coordinate and grow. And, like nature, these protocols should be open, permissionless, and neutral. Starting with compute hardware, the Gensyn protocol networks together the core resources required for machine intelligence to flourish alongside human intelligence.
The Role
Contribute to cutting-edge research in scalable, distributed machine learning systems alongside experienced researchers and engineers. Explore new ways of building and verifying neural networks that operate across huge, decentralised, topologies of heterogenous devices.
Responsibilities
Contribute to original research in deep learning with a focus on modular architectures, verifiability, continual learning, and scale
Design and prototype novel neural network architectures for decentralized compute environments
Contribute to joint publications and projects in collaboration with academic and industry researchers targeting top-tier AI venues such as NeurIPS, ICML, and ICLR
Competencies
Must Have
Currently enrolled in a PhD program (or, in exceptional cases, in a Master’s program) in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or a related field
Prior experience conducting original research, ideally with authorship or co-authorship on ML papers
Strong understanding of deep learning fundamentals and experience working with in at least one major framework, e.g. PyTorch, JAX, or TensorFlow
Self-directed, curious, and able to thrive in an environment with high autonomy
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Preferred
Research experience in distributed systems, continual learning, or modular neural architectures
A desire to contribute to open research and collaborate with the broader ML research community
Nice to Have
Experience at the intersection of cryptography and machine learning
