Member Support Specialist - Bilingual, Spanish (8am - 5pm EST shift)
Licensing and Credentialing Manager
Brightline is redefining what pediatric behavioral health care looks like for families across the country. None of that reach matters if a provider cannot legally practice or a payer will not pay the claim. As Manager, Licensing & Credentialing, you own the machinery that keeps every provider licensed, enrolled, and revenue-ready across every state and every payer network Brightline works with. This is a remote role with no direct reports, and it is designed as a high-level individual contributor position.
Why This Role
This is the role where precision becomes something families actually feel. Every provider you get licensed and credentialed faster is a family that gets care sooner, and every payer relationship you strengthen is revenue Brightline has already earned finally landing where it belongs. You will own the licensing vendor relationship and its budget, direct how that vendor performs rather than simply tracking it, and run payer credentialing end to end. You will keep every roster airtight and turn slow enrollments into fast ones through relationships you build yourself. You will sit at the table with Contracting, Revenue Cycle, Compliance, Clinical Operations, and Legal, representing this function as someone leadership counts on for answers. And you will own the metrics that prove it is all working, while designing the processes that let this function scale as Brightline continues to grow. If you want a role where precision is the whole point and the impact is easy to see, this is it.
Responsibilities
Licensing Management
Own the CertifyOS vendor relationship, including budget accountability and renewal negotiations.
Direct the day-to-day work CertifyOS performs on Brightline's behalf and hold the vendor accountable to defined service levels.
Oversee all provider licensing and license renewals across multiple states.
Ensure timely submission, tracking, and renewal of provider licenses.
Monitor vendor performance against established service level agreements (SLAs).
Partner with internal stakeholders to ensure providers are licensed before scheduled start dates.
Identify opportunities to improve licensing workflows through automation and process optimization.
Maintain accurate licensing records and ensure compliance with all state licensing board requirements.
Provider Credentialing
Manage all commercial, Medicaid, and managed Medicaid payer credentialing activities.
Personally oversee provider enrollment, re-credentialing, and payer applications from submission through approval.
Track credentialing status and proactively resolve enrollment delays.
Ensure providers are credentialed and billable prior to delivering patient care whenever possible.
Maintain complete and accurate credentialing documentation.
Monitor re-credentialing timelines to prevent credentialing lapses.
Payer Roster Management
Own payer roster management across all contracted health plans.
Ensure provider roster submissions are accurate, timely, and synchronized with payer systems.
Coordinate provider additions, terminations, demographic updates, tax ID changes, and location updates with contracted payers.
Perform routine payer roster audits to identify and correct discrepancies.
Partner with Revenue Cycle teams to resolve billing issues resulting from roster inaccuracies.
Establish standardized processes for roster maintenance as the organization scales.
Payer Relationship Management
Develop and maintain strong relationships with commercial and government payer credentialing representatives.
Lead recurring monthly payer operational meetings focused on credentialing escalations, enrollment turnaround times, provider roster accuracy, re-credentialing performance, and process improvement opportunities.
Serve as the organization's primary escalation point for payer credentialing issues.
Represent the licensing and credentialing function in cross-functional forums with Contracting, Revenue Cycle, Compliance, Clinical Operations, and Legal, speaking for the function's priorities and status rather than simply coordinating within it.
Partner closely with those teams to resolve payer related issues impacting provider enrollment.
Delegated Credentialing
Support the development of delegated credentialing programs with contracted payers.
Collaborate with Compliance and Quality teams to ensure delegated credentialing requirements are met.
Coordinate payer audits and maintain audit readiness.
Accountability and Scale
Own and report on the core metrics that define whether the function is working, including days to credential, license renewal on-time rate, and payer roster accuracy rate.
Define the processes, documentation, and workflows this function runs on today, built so they hold up as provider volume, state coverage, and payer relationships continue to scale.
Bring metric trends and process gaps to leadership proactively, rather than only when an issue has already caused a delay.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
5+ years of provider licensing and payer credentialing experience.
Strong understanding of CAQH, NPPES, PECOS, Medicare enrollment, Medicaid enrollment, and commercial payer credentialing.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
Strong problem-solving and escalation management abilities.
Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.
Experience leading cross-functional initiatives that improve operational performance.
Experience managing multi-state provider licensing
-
Experience managing vendor relationships and delegated credentialing programs.
Experience working with CertifyOS or similar credentialing software preferred.
-
Preferred experience with:
Credentialing providers through commercial and Medicaid payers
Managing payer roster submissions and provider directory accuracy.
We offer several benefits, perks, and stipends:
Medical, Dental, Vision, Long-Term Disability, Life Insurance, Flexible Spending Account, and 401k

Diagnostic Evaluation Provider (NY, Virtual)
Full Stack Ruby on Rails Software Engineer (Senior - Remote)
Welcome to Brightline! We are seeking a Full Stack Ruby on Rails Senior Software Engineer to help us scale our core platform, build robust internal and external integrations, and evolve the data flows that power our clinical and billing infrastructure.
We are primarily a Ruby on Rails shop and we are bought into keeping our tech stack simple so that we focus on shipping fast and having fun. Instead of betting on exciting new technologies, we favor straightforward solutions and defining standards so that the codebase and ecosystem are a joy to work with.
We use Turbo, Tailwind, and ViewComponent to make beautiful UIs. Stimulus brings them to life and if we feel the need for it, we might sprinkle some React on top. We use Typescript where we think it benefits us, and default to Javascript otherwise. Our mobile apps leverage Hotwire Native to take advantage of existing web infrastructure.
Responsibilities:
Collaborate on projects end-to-end with a strong emphasis on backend systems, API design, and integrations. Scoping features with product and design to shipping a finished feature into production
Write code across the entire stack (currently Ruby + Rails on the backend and Turbo/Tailwind on the frontend)
Have a mix of heads-down and pairing time, depending on the project and your energy levels
Curate a great codebase through architecture discussions, automated testing and code review
Bring a new perspective that helps our team continue to grow and improve
Requirements:
You're excited about improving behavioral health for children, teens, and their families
You love collaborating with team members from other departments (including product, marketing, clinical and more)
You own projects and see them through, even if that goes beyond code
You are thoughtful and empathetic in how you carry yourself, from decision making and execution, to communication and collaboration
You care about solving problems and aren’t tied to particular solutions or technologies
You have experience developing software professionally (primarily Ruby + Rails, with potentially experience in similar languages and frameworks such as Python + Django)
You enjoy full-stack work but prefer back-end logic, data modeling, and system architecture
Bonus points for experience with:
Healthcare stuff™, especially around insurance billing, health system integrations, clinical workflows, referrals, or coaching
API development and integrating with third parties
We offer several benefits, perks, and stipends:
Medical, Dental, Vision, Long-Term Disability, Life Insurance, Flexible Spending Account, and 401k
12 Company Holidays, Holiday Shutdown, Flexible Time Off, Parental Leave
Health and Wellness Stipend, Home Office Reimbursement and Professional Development Reimbursement

Full Stack Ruby on Rails Software Engineer (Senior - Remote)
Bilingual Community Engagement Lead (Spanish Preferred) – LA County (Remote / Field)
Medical Director, Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist
Medical Director (Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist - Remote)
We are searching for a board-certified Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist to serve as Medical Director of our psychiatry service line. Reporting directly to the Chief Medical Officer (CMO), you will own the clinical architecture of psychiatry at Brightline — ensuring excellence in care quality, provider development, regulatory compliance, and day-to-day operational execution.
This is not a traditional medical director role. We are building something different: a hybrid virtual and in-person pediatric mental health practice that uses technology and data to deliver better care at scale. We are looking for someone energized by that challenge — who brings fresh thinking, genuine comfort with AI tools, and the clinical credibility to lead a team of NPs and prescribers. You will carry a clinical caseload of up to 50%, adjusted over time as administrative responsibilities grow. You will collaborate closely with peer service line owners in therapy, psychological testing, and coaching, and will report directly to the CMO.
Responsibilities:
Clinical Care & Service Line Ownership
Carry a clinical caseload of up to 50% (adjusted as administrative responsibilities evolve), providing psychiatric diagnostic evaluations and ongoing medication management to pediatric patients across multiple states.
Own the psychiatry service line end-to-end: clinical quality, provider performance, care protocols, and alignment with Brightline's evidence-based care standards.
Collaborate closely with peer service line owners in therapy, psychological testing, and coaching to ensure coordinated, multidisciplinary care delivery.
Sign and maintain Collaborative Practice Agreements (CPAs) with nurse practitioners; partner with the CMO, Legal, and Compliance on the strategic framework governing CPAs across jurisdictions.
Document work meticulously, including session notes, care plans, and progress in the electronic health record.
People Management & Provider Development
Directly supervise and manage a psychiatry team composed primarily of nurse practitioners, as well as a pediatrician, with potential growth to include additional psychiatrists.
Exercise hiring and personnel decision authority in collaboration with the CMO, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and when necessary, offboarding.
Approve timecards and manage scheduling for part-time direct reports.
Conduct regular 1:1s, case reviews, and clinical office hours to support the professional growth, clinical development, and accountability of team members.
Foster a culture of psychological safety, high standards, and continuous learning within the psychiatry department.
Clinical Quality & Risk Management
Develop and maintain clinical protocols, treatment pathways, and quality assurance processes for the psychiatry service line.
Lead chart reviews and ongoing quality monitoring to ensure adherence to evidence-based care and Brightline's clinical standards.
Identify and escalate systemic clinical risks, regulatory issues, and practice gaps, partnering with the CMO and Compliance to address them proactively.
Contribute to organizational policies and procedures as they relate to psychiatry, controlled substance prescribing, and multi-state telehealth compliance.
Budgetary Collaboration & Operations
Co-manage the psychiatry department budget in collaboration with the CMO, providing input on resource allocation, staffing needs, and operational priorities.
Monitor productivity and care delivery metrics to support service line efficiency and sustainability.
Partner with Care Operations to optimize workflows, reduce clinician burden, and ensure smooth day-to-day function of the psychiatry team.
Technology & AI-Enhanced Care
Effectively utilize AI tools to enhance clinical workflows, documentation quality, and care delivery within the psychiatry service line and in multidisciplinary collaboration.
Partner with Product and Engineering to provide clinical input on technology builds, including documentation tools, decision support features, and patient-facing enhancements.
Actively engage with emerging telehealth technologies and help evaluate new tools for safety, efficacy, and clinical fit.
Contribute clinical perspective to Brightline's broader AI strategy, owned by the CMO and executive leadership team.
Clinical Quality & Risk Management
Develop corporate-wide methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for psychiatric care to ensure alignment with evidence-based practices.
Resolve highly complex clinical and operational issues where standard field-specific principles may not fully apply, particularly at the intersection of telehealth and emerging regulations.
Make critical decisions regarding clinical safety protocols and "Collaborative Practice Agreements" where the outcomes have a long-term impact on the success of the organization.
Direct the development of new methods for chart reviews, quality assurance, and risk mitigation across multi-state jurisdictions.
Innovation & Product Integration
Drive results by harmonizing views across Engineering, Product, and Care Ops to build state-of-the-art, technology-driven care models.
Lead the clinical strategy for AI tooling and scalable telehealth innovations, balancing aggressive growth with rigorous patient safety.
Oversee the cross-licensing strategy to ensure the prescribing team can meet the demands of a rapidly growing, multi-state member base.
Requirements:
Clinical Expertise
Board-certified Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist with proven expertise in conducting comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, diagnoses, and treatments for a diverse range of mental health concerns in pediatric patients.
Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to incorporate a pathway-driven approach to delivering high-quality, evidence-based care to members and families.
Multi-state licensed or willing and able to obtain cross-licensure, with administrative support and financial sponsorship provided.
People Management Experience
Demonstrated direct people management experience, including supervision, performance development, and personnel decisions — whether through a formal medical director role, chief residency, chief fellowship, or comparable leadership position.
Experience supervising nurse practitioners and comfort supporting the clinical growth, development, and personnel management of a prescribing team.
Ability to foster a culture of clinical excellence, psychological safety, and accountability.
Innovation & Adaptability
Approaches care delivery with fresh thinking; not rigidly anchored to traditional models or "how things have always been done."
Comfort and demonstrated experience with AI tools, telehealth platforms, and digital health technologies.
Thrives in fast-paced, ambiguous environments where building from scratch is the norm rather than the exception.
Passionate about technology-driven care delivery models and committed to continuously improving care quality through innovation.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Experience working collaboratively with cross-functional teams (Product, Engineering, Care Operations) to support technology-driven care delivery models.
Clear and effective communicator in a fully remote setting, keeping team members informed, engaged, and aligned.
Ability to translate clinical needs and priorities into actionable input for non-clinical stakeholders.
Nice to Have:
Willingness to travel periodically (a few times per quarter) to support leadership alignment, team engagement, and key organizational initiatives.
Preference for New York licensure; candidates with licensure in other states and openness to cross-licensure are strongly considered.
Prior experience building clinical protocols, care pathways, or quality frameworks in a startup or high-growth environment.
Hands-on experience with AI-assisted documentation or clinical decision support tools.
We offer several benefits, perks, and stipends:
Medical, Dental, Vision, Long-Term Disability, Life Insurance, Flexible Spending Account, and 401k
