About Legion Health
Legion Health is building autonomous medical care, starting with psychiatry. Our AI-native care-delivery platform currently automates 95% of the administrative work required for us to deliver direct patient care. We also recently became the first company ever to receive regulatory authorization to let AI prescribe psychiatric medications, allowing us to not only collapse health care’s admin costs but also its clinical labor costs—entirely shifting this industry’s economics from humans to tokens.
Our technical moat is hard to copy—we combine rich data, production AI, psychiatrists in the loop, and end-to-end care operations to deliver measurably better care to a clinically complex patient population. This has helped us produce 20K+ total visits and $4.2M in ARR in just 2 years (~4× YoY), all while holding ops costs flat and achieving industry-leading patient NPS and retention.
While the last generation of healthcare startups made the existing system slightly more efficient—for example, by moving providers from out-of-network to accepting insurance—Legion is fundamentally rebuilding full-stack care delivery from first principles. With a global TAM of $2.15T and our recent regulatory approval for autonomous prescribing, we plan to 10× in the next year with a national rollout.
The company was founded by three best friends from Princeton University: Yash was the youngest health economist at the Congressional Budget Office with Medicare and Medicaid expertise, Daniel has an extensive background in deep learning and AI from Microsoft, and Arthur is a self-taught engineer and former McKinsey consultant. Legion Health is backed by Y Combinator, Alumni Ventures, and Soma Capital, plus founders from Function Health, Modern Health, Everly Health, Trusted Health, Clipboard Health, PatientPing, Sesame Care, Faire, EasyPost, and fuboTV.

🧠 About Legion Health
At Legion Health, we believe everyone deserves fast, affordable, and world-class health care, and we’re developing the AI infrastructure to deliver it ourselves at world scale.
Legion is building autonomous medical care (the AI doctor), starting with psychiatry. Our AI-native care-delivery platform currently automates 95% of the administrative work required for us to deliver direct patient care. We also recently became the first company ever to receive regulatory authorization to let AI prescribe psychiatric medications, allowing us to not only collapse health care’s admin costs but also its clinical labor costs—shifting this industry’s economics from humans to tokens.
Our technical moat is hard to copy—we combine rich data, production AI, doctors in the loop, and end-to-end care operations to deliver measurably better care to a clinically complex patient population. This has helped us produce tens of thousands of total visits in just 2 years, all while holding ops costs flat and achieving industry-leading patient NPS and retention. While the last generation of healthcare startups made the existing system incrementally more efficient, Legion is rebuilding full-stack care delivery from first principles. Our vision? A 10X better patient experience that’s higher quality, less expensive, and more scalable than ever before. And a 10X better clinician experience that frees our providers to focus on what matters most: caring for patients.

📍 Role Logistics
Job Type: Part-Time or Full-Time Contract (1099)
Role Type: Provider Directory Operations / Payer Data / Credentialing / Growth Operations
Ideal Experience Level: 2+ years
Location: Remote
Time Commitment: Approximately 20–40 hours/week
Initial Engagement: 3-month project, with opportunity to renew and expand based on results
Work Hours: Flexible, with enough U.S. business-hours overlap for payer outreach
Start Date: ASAP
🚀 The Opportunity
Legion is hiring a Insurance Directory Growth and Operations Lead to turn insurance-payer directories into a measurable, scalable patient-acquisition channel. Payer member portals are among the highest-intent places patients look for in-network psychiatric care, yet inaccurate or low-visibility listings create silent failure points: patients cannot find Legion, see the wrong information, or reach a phone-only dead end.
You will own the full directory funnel: authoritative provider data → payer publication → member-side search visibility → click or call to action → eligibility → scheduling → completed first visit. You will be accountable for both operational accuracy and business outcomes, including directory-sourced intakes, booked visits, conversion, and incremental revenue.
This is a hands-on operator role. You should be comfortable auditing large rosters, working inside payer portals, calling and emailing network-operations teams, reconciling CAQH and NPPES data, investigating edge cases, maintaining airtight change logs, creating UTM links, setting up recurring QA, and partnering with Growth and Engineering to route patients into a touchless onboarding experience.
✅ Responsibilities and Deliverables
Own Legion’s provider-directory accuracy and growth metrics across every contracted payer and network, state, clinician, service location, specialty, and member-facing directory surface.
Build and maintain the authoritative provider-data source of truth, including clinician legal and display names, Type 1 and Type 2 NPIs, group affiliations, taxonomy codes, licenses, specialties, service locations, telehealth eligibility, accepting-new-patients status, contact information, booking URLs, payer participation, last verification date, owner, status, and supporting evidence.
Reconcile the source of truth against NPPES, CAQH, credentialing rosters, payer portals, third-party aggregators, and internal provider and contracting systems; define source precedence for every field so discrepancies are resolved consistently.
Create a complete baseline inventory and risk-ranked remediation backlog, prioritizing missing providers, inactive or departed providers, wrong locations, missing telehealth indicators, incorrect specialties, duplicate records, broken links, phone-only calls to action, and high-volume payer opportunities.
Audit each directory as a patient would: search by ZIP code, state, plan, specialty, telehealth, availability, and accepting-new-patients filters; confirm Legion appears in the expected results and that every profile is accurate, complete, and actionable.
Verify that telehealth filters, virtual-visit tags, map pins, specialty mappings, language fields, appointment availability, and accepting-new-patients indicators behave correctly across desktop and mobile directory experiences where available.
Submit corrections through the right payer workflow—portal, roster file, API, secure email, ticket, or escalation—and track submission date, confirmation number, payer owner, promised service level, follow-up date, publication date, and member-side verification. A fix is not complete until it is live and independently rechecked.
Standardize naming conventions, address formatting, phone numbers, credentials, taxonomy and specialty mappings, group affiliations, telehealth designations, and URL structure; build validation rules and an explicit exception log.
Partner with payer directory and network-operations teams to improve Legion’s legitimate search prominence through accurate category mapping, telepsychiatry and virtual-care terminology, featured or virtual-visit badges, complete profile fields, and correct filter eligibility.
Replace phone-only or generic calls to action with direct Legion landing pages, self-scheduling links, or SMS short codes wherever payer rules and directory capabilities allow.
Create and govern unique UTM-tagged links by payer, network, directory, state, and placement; maintain a durable naming convention, redirect ownership, destination QA, and documentation so attribution survives future updates.
Partner with Growth and Engineering to build payer- and state-aware landing experiences, align insurance and availability messaging, reduce intake abandonment, and A/B-test calls to action, trust signals, scheduling flows, and page content.
Instrument and validate the directory funnel in PostHog or equivalent analytics from directory referral through eligibility, intake, scheduling, completed first visit, retention, and reactivation; maintain event definitions and investigate attribution gaps.
Build weekly reporting that covers inventory completeness, percentage of error-free listings, search-visibility coverage, corrections opened and closed, aging by payer, clicks, intakes, scheduled visits, completed visits, conversion rates, and attributable revenue.
Quantify the incremental patient volume and revenue unlocked by each material directory fix; maintain an opportunity model that ranks the backlog by expected impact, confidence, effort, and time to resolution.
Establish monthly sweeps and lightweight automated monitoring that detect payer regressions, roster drift, broken URLs, status changes, duplicate records, and unexpected search-result changes before they cost patients or revenue.
Integrate provider launches, departures, license changes, new payer contracts, new states, address changes, taxonomy updates, and scheduling changes into a documented change-management workflow with clear owners and service levels.
Create payer contact maps, escalation paths, reusable outreach templates, roster-submission checklists, evidence standards, SOPs, and a decision log so the operating system is auditable, repeatable, and transferable.
🏆 You’ll Be Successful If You…
Deliver a comprehensive, evidence-backed directory inventory within the first 30 days, with every contracted payer and active provider accounted for and no critical listing left without an owner or next action.
Reach and maintain at least 98% error-free coverage across high-priority member-facing listings, with critical errors escalated immediately and verified after publication.
Ensure high-priority contracted payer searches reliably return the correct Legion providers for relevant psychiatry, telepsychiatry, virtual-care, state, specialty, and accepting-new-patients queries.
Turn corrections into durable fixes, not one-time submissions: every closed item has member-side evidence, a verified source record, and a recurring control that reduces the chance of regression.
Make directory attribution trustworthy enough to follow source → intake → scheduled visit → completed visit, with clear handling for direct, phone, SMS, redirect, and unattributed traffic.
Increase directory-sourced eligibility starts, intakes, scheduled visits, and completed first visits—not just the number of profiles updated or tickets submitted.
Reduce time to detect, submit, escalate, and verify directory corrections, and make payer-specific bottlenecks visible before they stall the program.
Build monthly sweeps and data-sync workflows that keep manual work near zero without sacrificing field-level accuracy or human verification of member-facing results.
Reconcile operational reporting to the underlying roster, payer evidence, and analytics data so leadership can trust every metric and revenue estimate.
Identify systemic payer or data-pipeline failures, bring the right internal and external owners together, and drive the issue through to a durable resolution.
Move fast without using misleading listings, unsupported specialties, inaccurate availability, spammy tactics, or privacy and compliance shortcuts.
🧰 Ideal Background and Skills
2+ years in provider-data management, payer or network operations, credentialing, revenue-cycle operations, healthcare data quality, growth operations, or a closely related role.
Direct experience updating payer directories, provider-finder tools, or network rosters through platforms such as Availity, CAQH, HealthSmart, payer-specific portals, delegated roster workflows, or third-party directory vendors.
Strong working knowledge of Type 1 and Type 2 NPIs, NPPES, CAQH ProView, taxonomy codes, specialties, group affiliations, service locations, telehealth designations, accepting-new-patients status, and network participation.
Experience diagnosing discrepancies across multiple systems, determining the authoritative source, documenting the root cause, and verifying the member-facing correction after publication.
Advanced comfort with Google Sheets or Excel, including large CSVs, XLOOKUP or VLOOKUP, INDEX-MATCH, pivot tables, data validation, deduplication, conditional formatting, normalization, and reconciliation.
Comfort with lightweight SQL, APIs, JSON or XML, SFTP roster files, scripts, or no-code automation; you do not need to be a software engineer, but you should be able to remove repetitive work.
Experience with UTM conventions, redirect QA, PostHog or comparable product analytics, funnel reporting, and conversion-rate measurement.
Ability to operate across portals, spreadsheets, email, phone, ticketing systems, and ambiguous payer processes while maintaining precise evidence and follow-up discipline.
Strong written and verbal communication. You can write a clean escalation, ask a payer representative for the exact file or field definition needed, and explain the patient and revenue impact of an unresolved issue.
Excellent quality-control instincts. You notice one transposed digit, inconsistent taxonomy mapping, outdated address, missing virtual-care tag, or suspicious duplicate—and you investigate until the record is correct.
Sound healthcare and privacy judgment. You can work with provider and network data while respecting access controls, minimum-necessary practices, payer rules, and Legion’s compliance requirements.
Low ego, high urgency, and end-to-end ownership. You measure success in accurate live listings and completed visits, not activity, submitted forms, or closed spreadsheets.
Bonus: Deep familiarity with the Texas payer landscape, multi-state telehealth networks, provider roster standards, directory APIs, delegated credentialing, or provider-data governance at scale.
💰 Compensation & Benefits
Hourly Rate: Competitive and based on experience
Performance Bonus: Additional compensation tied to strong outcomes such as verified listing accuracy, correction cycle time, directory-sourced booked visits, and measurable revenue impact
Contract Structure: Independent contractor (1099)
Time Commitment: Approximately 20–40 hours/week
Initial Term: 3-month project, renewable based on results and business needs
Work Hours: Flexible, with planned overlap for U.S. payer and internal-team coordination
Work Setup: Remote
Tools: PostHog, analytics dashboards, Google Sheets or Airtable, payer portals, CAQH, NPPES, roster files, APIs, and automation tools
Impact: Every accurate, discoverable listing helps a patient find in-network psychiatric care faster and turns an invisible operations fix into measurable clinical and business value.
Growth Opportunities: As the program scales, this engagement can expand into broader provider-data governance, payer operations, credentialing systems, or growth-operations ownership.

📍 Role Logistics
Job Type: Contract
Role Type: Patient Success
Ideal Experience Level: 2+ years of experience
Location: Fully Remote
Work Hours: 1:00 PM to 9:30 PM Central Time
🚀 The Opportunity
We’re looking for a patient-focused, detail-oriented Patient Experience Representative to support patients throughout their care journey at Legion Health. This role is ideal for someone with experience supporting patients directly in a digital health / telehealth environment and who is comfortable communicating by phone and messaging while navigating healthcare workflows.
We’re a fast-paced startup, so the right person is proactive, adaptable, and energized by building and improving processes as we scale. You’ll deliver exceptional patient support while coordinating the operational work that enables clinical care—reducing friction, creating clarity, and ensuring follow-through across teams.
Important note on the “clinical” piece: This is a non-clinical role (you will not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment). However, you’ll work closely with clinical operations—supporting patients with logistics and routing items to the clinical team with clear documentation. A clinical background or comfort with clinical language is a plus, but not required.
✅ Responsibilities and Deliverables
Respond to patient inquiries across phone and messaging platforms with clear, accurate, and timely communication
Provide compassionate, top-notch support with a strong focus on patient satisfaction
Assist with scheduling appointments, rescheduling, and helping patients onboard
Support patient retention and outreach through follow-ups, reminders, and proactive patient check-ins
Coordinate and track clinical workflows and administrative workflows to ensure patients get what they need with minimal delays, including:
Prior authorizations (collecting info, tracking status, and escalating as needed)
Prescription and refill coordination (triaging requests and routing to the clinical team)
FMLA / paperwork and documentation requests (intake, routing, tracking, follow-up)
General administrative tasks and patient coordination across internal teams
Accurately document patient interactions to ensure proper follow-up, case tracking, and continuity of support
Identify recurring patient issues and share feedback to improve workflows and quality of service
Work closely with team members to resolve patient concerns quickly and effectively
Maintain a reliable, high-speed internet connection for smooth and consistent communication
Always aim to deliver the best experience possible for our patients
🏆 You’ll Be Successful If You Are…
Proficient in spoken and written English
Calm under pressure and able to support patients with empathy—especially in sensitive situations
A quick learner who can adapt to new processes and stay up to date with changes
Organized and efficient, able to manage multiple conversations without missing details
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, ever-evolving startup environment
Comfortable using tools like Dialpad, Slack, Healthie (or similar platforms)
Detail-oriented with strong follow-through and clear documentation habits
Comfortable partnering with clinical teams while staying firmly within a non-clinical scope
🧰 Ideal Background and Skills
2+ years in a patient-facing support role (behavioral health, digital health, telehealth, nursing admin, pharmacy, insurance, or similar)
Previous experience in a telehealth or call center environment is highly preferred
Familiarity with healthcare workflows (scheduling, insurance, pharmacies, documentation)
Clinical background is a plus (e.g., MA/CNA, nursing exposure, behavioral health settings, pharmacy), but not needed
The most important qualifications are patient empathy, operational execution, and clear communication
💰 Compensation & Benefits
Hourly Compensation: $5-$15 per hour
Work Hours: 1:00 PM to 9:30 PM Central Time
Work Setup: Fully Remote
Impact: Work on something that truly matters to millions of patients and families.

🚀 The Opportunity
Legion is hiring an AI Lifecycle Product and Marketing Leader to build the AI-native patient communication engine that helps people start care, stay in care, come back when they lapse, and feel personally supported across months and years of treatment.
This is not a typical lifecycle marketing job. We are not looking for someone to manage a static email calendar, build a few drip campaigns, and optimize subject lines. Legion has rich patient data, production AI, clinical workflows, scheduling events, insurance data, intake behavior, appointment history, medication renewal patterns, and care operations all inside one vertically integrated system. That means we can build something far more powerful: a personalized, proactive communication engine that knows where each patient is in their journey and automatically helps move them to the next right step.
You will build the system that makes Legion feel impossibly responsive. A patient who stalls in intake should get the right nudge. A patient who books but does not complete prep should get the right reminder. A patient at risk of missing follow-up should be guided before they lapse. A patient due for renewal should understand what to do next. A patient who churned should receive a thoughtful, relevant path back. Over time, the engine should become more intelligent, more personalized, and more autonomous.
The right person combines the lifecycle rigor of DoorDash, Instacart, Airbnb, or Sephora; the patient-journey discipline of Hims, Thirty Madison, Headway, or Talkiatry; the retention instincts of Noom, Peloton, WHOOP, or Duolingo; and the AI-native curiosity required to build communication systems that can generate, personalize, test, and improve patient journeys at scale.
This is a founding systems-builder role. You should be comfortable designing lifecycle strategy, mapping patient states, writing copy, building CRM logic, creating segments, using AI tools, QAing flows, debugging event data, launching experiments, and partnering with product, engineering, data, ops, and clinical teams to create an engine that increasingly works on its own.
✅ Responsibilities and Deliverables
Build Legion’s AI-native lifecycle engine across activation, booking, visit completion, follow-up adherence, medication renewal support, retention, reactivation, and winback.
Design the patient communication system across email, SMS, push, in-app, transactional reminders, AI-assisted outreach, and future owned channels.
Map the full patient journey into clear lifecycle states, triggers, audiences, suppressions, escalation rules, personalization rules, and next-best-action logic.
Use Legion’s patient data to create highly personalized journeys based on intake status, appointment behavior, insurance status, treatment stage, follow-up cadence, renewal needs, engagement, risk of lapse, and communication preferences.
Partner with product, engineering, and data to instrument the events, properties, data models, and workflows needed for intelligent lifecycle automation.
Build AI-assisted communication workflows that can draft, personalize, route, test, and optimize messages while staying within approved clinical, compliance, and brand guardrails.
Create proactive flows for abandoned intake, incomplete booking, pre-visit preparation, appointment reminders, no-show prevention, post-visit follow-up, refill and renewal nudges, reactivation, churn recovery, and long-term engagement.
Build segmentation and personalization systems that can support thousands of patient-specific journeys instead of one-size-fits-all campaigns.
Partner with clinical operations to ensure every message reflects real care workflows, scheduling capacity, prescribing boundaries, refill policies, escalation paths, and patient support processes.
Own lifecycle experimentation across A/B tests, holdouts, incrementality tests, send-time tests, cadence tests, channel-mix tests, AI-personalization tests, and journey-level optimization.
Improve core funnel and retention metrics, including intake completion, booking conversion, visit completion, no-show rate, follow-up adherence, reactivation rate, churn, LTV, and patient satisfaction.
Build the QA, approval, deliverability, consent, and compliance processes required for high-volume, AI-assisted healthcare communication.
Ensure HIPAA, TCPA, CAN-SPAM, consent management, PHI handling, opt-outs, quiet hours, clinical accuracy, and patient trust are treated as product requirements.
Create lifecycle dashboards and weekly reporting that show where patients are getting stuck, which journeys are working, and where AI or automation can remove manual work.
Evaluate and operate tools such as Braze, Iterable, Customer.io, HubSpot, Klaviyo, Twilio, SendGrid, PostHog, Hightouch, Segment, RudderStack, Census, OpenAI, Claude, internal AI agents, or similar.
Build repeatable lifecycle playbooks that can scale across states, payers, patient segments, care pathways, and future service lines.
🏆 You’ll Be Successful If You…
Build a lifecycle engine that feels less like marketing automation and more like an intelligent patient guidance system.
Turn Legion’s data into personalized, proactive communication that helps patients take the right next action.
Meaningfully improve intake completion, booking conversion, kept visits, follow-up adherence, renewal completion, reactivation, and retention.
Reduce manual ops work by automating the right nudges, reminders, escalations, and follow-ups before patients fall through the cracks.
Make patients feel guided, cared for, and understood, not blasted by generic campaigns.
Build event-triggered journeys that move real patient behavior instead of static campaign calendars that sit inside a CRM tool.
Create AI-assisted workflows that are useful, accurate, safe, and compliant.
Build a testing culture where lifecycle performance improves every week.
Maintain extremely high QA standards so messages are accurate, well-timed, correctly personalized, and safe.
Help Legion understand which patients are stuck, likely to lapse, ready to return, due for follow-up, or likely to need additional support before the problem becomes manual.
🧰 Ideal Background and Skills
6+ years in lifecycle marketing, CRM, retention, engagement, growth marketing, patient engagement, consumer communications, or owned-channel marketing.
3+ years directly owning lifecycle programs across email, SMS, push, in-app, transactional messaging, or direct mail.
Strong preference for experience in consumer healthcare, marketplaces, subscriptions, mobile apps, fintech, consumer services, e-commerce, or other high-volume consumer businesses.
Experience building event-triggered journeys, segmentation systems, personalization logic, suppression rules, send calendars, experimentation roadmaps, and lifecycle reporting.
Hands-on fluency with CRM / marketing automation platforms such as Braze, Iterable, Customer.io, Klaviyo, HubSpot, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, or similar.
Strong AI-native operating ability. You should be excited to use LLMs, agents, data, and automation to generate better patient journeys, not just make existing workflows slightly faster.
Strong analytical judgment: funnel analysis, cohort analysis, retention curves, A/B tests, holdouts, incrementality, attribution, LTV, churn, and reactivation.
Comfort working with data and technical teams. You do not need to be an engineer, but you should understand events, properties, audiences, data quality, QA, and basic SQL or SQL-adjacent analysis.
Excellent patient-facing writing judgment. You can make a message clear, warm, action-oriented, personalized, and clinically careful without sounding robotic or promotional.
Strong product sense. You understand that lifecycle is not just marketing; it is part of the patient experience, product experience, and operations system.
Strong operational rigor around QA, deliverability, consent, localization, link checking, dynamic content, approvals, and launch readiness.
Healthcare judgment. You understand that messages about psychiatric care, medication, insurance, no-shows, refills, and follow-up must be handled with real care.
Experience partnering cross-functionally with product, engineering, data, clinical operations, customer support, compliance, legal, design, and growth.
Low ego, high ownership, and startup intensity. You can define the strategy on Monday, build the segment Tuesday, write the copy Wednesday, QA the flow Thursday, and read the results Friday.
Bonus: experience with HIPAA, TCPA, PHI handling, patient engagement, appointment reminders, medication adherence, healthcare CRM, telehealth, LLMs, AI agents, or regulated consumer products.
💰 Compensation & Benefits
Salary: $140,000 – $260,000, based on experience
Early-Stage Equity: Competitive
Health Insurance: Medical, dental, and vision benefits
Additional Perks: In-person retreats, meal stipends, lifecycle/CRM tooling budget, learning stipend, AI tooling budget
Time Off: Flexible, unlimited vacation policy
Work Hours: Flexible, with responsiveness around high-impact launches or patient communication issues
Work Setup: In-Person in San Francisco, CA
Impact: Build the AI-native communication system that helps patients access and stay in high-quality psychiatric care.
Autonomy and Learning: Own lifecycle strategy, CRM infrastructure, patient journeys, AI-assisted personalization, experimentation, reporting, and retention systems end-to-end.
Growth Opportunities: As Legion scales, this role can grow into Head of Lifecycle, Head of CRM, Head of Patient Engagement, or a broader growth leadership role.
